- In this episode, I tell you all about the cost of living in Antwerp / Belgium in preparation to leaving the country for a few months traveling in Panama.
With this episode, I want to give you an idea of what the cost of living is in Antwerp and/or Belgium. In the coming episodes when I am in Panama and/or other countries we will compare the prices with Antwerp. This will give us an idea of how much more I will be able to do with my money in Panama once I return to retire. I also show you the 'cost of living' index of different countries. Belgium is in 22nd place and Pakistan is last in line. Do you want to know which country is the most expensive in the world, and which index does your country have? You'll find all out in this episode.

@@LostTravellers what is it like living in Belgium? Is it easy to make a commute from Antwerp to Brussels. I wish I could work for NATO, but live in Antwerp. Would it just be better to live in Brussels?
@@aidanlutz8106 well, a train from Antwerp to Brussels, takes about 40 minutes and than you still need to go to the NATO (by bus, tram or metro). I would choose Brussels for convenience, but I think Antwerp is a better olace to live. You have hard decisions to make, mister. :-)
@@LostTravellers Yeah, it definitely will be hard to choose when the time comes, but who knows how the world can change in a few years.
i am planning to move to Antwerp for business. Is there any change that you could provide some tips about how to rend a good apartment and generally what to be aware of ?

I am bulgarian and honestly to tell you, the shown prices are definetely lower than in Bulgaria😅, just have in mind the min salary in BG is about 350 euro per month

@@LostTravellers don't ask 😬most of the people live on the edge, so the west europeans shouldn't complain at all. It is true that our standart of living is low and not everything is expensive, but almost everything goes for food and expenses. Of course not everyone works for min salary, but even with higher it is lower than your min incomes...so dont complain😃

I was born in Belgium but have lived in the US for over 25 years now.
I lost my citizenship but the consulate people told me that I can get my EU citizenship back if I come and live in Belgium for a full year uninterrupted...
My question to you is; if I was to live there and trade stocks like I do here how would the government tax that?

I do know that trade stocks are taxed through a 'cost' you pay to the government at the moment you buy them (so not on the once you already own) and what you earn from (ALL, so, the 'older' once included) those stocks will be considered as an income, where you will need to pay taxes for (if you reach certain minima). Whatever you earn (stocks, business and what not) will be taxed. But I am in no way a specialist, and you'd better get in touch with a specilaist to know exactly.
