Any day in the deer woods, is better than none. Lunch in a tree, with Mountain House, hell ya. Spooky does, take em any time. It's the lessons learned that make us better, not false securities after stumbling on a buck. Love ya'll and what you're doing, keep learning from those mistakes
This series makes me feel so much better. We’ve been hunting Hoosier National Forest for a few years.it’s tough. To see these guys struggling makes me feel better about our efforts. Welcome to Southern Indiana public fellas. Good luck
Hoosier national is so vast hard to imagine where to start. I hunt Brookville. It's broken up so it's a Lil easier to scout/disect but the pressure is a lot heavier
Here I am, trying to go to bed early with stupid daylight savings time so I can hunt my best rut stand tomorrow and I see the new video posted. I guess sleep can wait.
You guys give me hope... for someone like me who has a limited schedule and can get frustrated during sits that go awry or times when the deer just aren’t there, I don’t feel so bad when I watch the top notch hunters experience those same frustrations. Thank you for keeping it real; I believe I will stay at it this season.
I quit to many illegal stands everywhere people baiting public which is illegal. Random people going to the public grounds and target shooting when the signs say target shooting prohibited
Not to mention when ya walk 3 miles in somewhere and the private landers set their stands up way out there cause they can just drive up to the fence and access the back that way. Then they’ll cut trees n do all sorts of shitty things
I love the public land challenge videos. Even if they don’t kill anything You get to see different guys techniques in trying to finding a mature buck and it’s fun to watch the series.
Ted, tie a big loop in the end of your bow rope then slip it through your cam/wheel and over your stabilizer. That way you don't have to tie and untie a not every time.
Thanks hunters, I am loving it! Keep em coming! I hunt in the mountains of Va, and yes it's almost impossible to hunt the wind right, cause it's always swirling! I like to find a high point close to bedding and hardwoods or a natural bench...seems cruising bucks love traveling these areas! Best of luck and keep safe!
I seen you guys out and about and the only person I told was my wife and told her not to tell anyone lol. We are both in our low 40s so we don’t get out and mingle with the people much anymore and only have a few close friends we really hang out with besides our family. We didn’t even tell our close friends that I seen you guys out and about. I had to talk myself out of talking with you guys but I knew you guys had a short time here and didn’t have any time to spare and I just put myself in your shoes and just left you alone. My younger self might not have done the same lol. Thanks for sharing all your videos and work and grind you guys out in so we can all be entertained and learn. I love to learn and always have. Thanks again and support from Southern Indiana.
Alil late to the party (comments) but being a Hoosier hunter, y'all are for real for sure ! 1st time watching your vids and you guys remind me of my hunting party, have,n a good time and more hunt,n then kill,n. Super Cool Footage ! Will be watching more of ya ! Y'all keep it real and be safe 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸💪🏻✌🏻
My stabilizer is 4inch I kill multiple deer a yr with my bow which is Parker wildfire xp I paid 50 dollars for it! Just killed a 10 PT with my Lil stabilizer What yall killin
Yea I said that about my spot here. Listening to all these guys talk about pressure and bumping deer and how it’s so bad. These deer come right back around, I messed up giving it a one day break and a big slob is on my cam cruising through for does. I was on the couch listening to the old “you can kill more bucks by being on the couch” 🙄
I feel you can continue to hunt a spot if your wind has been good and you haven’t been busted a couple times. But if deer cut your entry and exit a few times it will dry up
I have finally figured out why he is called Catman. That dude naps anywhere, anytime haha. Good hunts. I enjoy seeing all the teams and how they each try to pick apart the land to get on deer.
Third one here and I came just as soon as I got the notification. This is the BEST part of my weekend so far. It'll only get better when either one of y'all, or I, get a deer! Best hunting show around, nobody close second. Ok, maybe UnTamed. Glad Josh and Kirk joined y'all this year!
Well, where else would one expect the buck to stop other than right behind a tree. Go figure! Same thing happened to me about two weeks ago. 24 yards and stopped with his vitals behind a 60-70 year old bodark tree. Then turned and walked straight away like he had read the script lol. I mean all I needed was literally maybe 5-6 seconds. Crap and he was a shooter about 150-155"?? we had on camera. Been waiting I don't know how many sets on him to show in daylight. Good videos guys. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
People who don't hunt will look at this and they won't understand how much effort a person has to put into being a good Hunter. You going to an inhospitable environment and it takes a lot of sweat and a lot of dedication to become a good Hunter and become smarter than your Quarry. I'll admit I wanted to hunt this year and I realize that my heart just wasn't in it and I didn't have the time to do it. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't go out and I didn't work really hard to get my animal. That's how much respect a lot of hunters have for their Quarry.
Tough break on that buck. He didn't just roll to a stop, he stopped dead in his tracks and pin pointed you in the tree. Talk about acute senses. Keep at em boys, you'll get one.
I do pretty well shooting them walking ..its too risky on hard hunted bucks to stop them..and maybe 50% of time they bust off or stop behind a tree. I've shot about 3 or 4 walking with no problem when 20 yards or less.
Whole last week of archery in my neck of the woods is calling for rain.....talk about rubbing salt in the wound. Only saw deer on the first day of archery here in PA.
Every trailhead in perry and Crawford county was packed full of cars this weekend. Itll be worse next weekend when the orange army comes out. Southern Indiana is very busy right now
Next year the public land challenge needs to be south east Arkansas. Some great deer get pulled out of there every year. River bottoms are definitely not the easiest to hunt too so it would be a great challenge.
Glad you guys came to my home state. Where abouts were you guys hunting at for this one? I'm close to Glendale fwa and patoka then Hoosier national isn't that far but ive never hunted over there.
Listen I love Dan. He’s killed a lot of big bucks and I’ve learned a lot off him, but damn it Dan in these hills he’s gotta learn some damn scent control to make it easier on him. Damn guy has the whole mountain snorting at him.
Scent control is a scam. You can’t beat their nose. You know better than that, and if you don’t, keep wasting your money i guess. Your breath exists no matter what your clothes smell or don’t smell like and there is no way to cover it
@@livingwithdamron5986 you’re right. You can never truly beat a whitetails nose I know that. You said breath right. I hope when that big buck comes walking in you aren’t breathing through your mouth. But who knows you may be a mouth breather. Idk. All I was saying was there are ways to mask your smell. You might be a field hunter but you know that in these hills you can’t just make the wind go left or right.
@@tycewisnewski3365 i hunt strictly mountain and hills, and it swirls nearly the entire time, so i know what you mean. You just have to do your best with thermals and wind. It’s hard for anyone
Driving back from western NE quarter final (we beat North Platte) saw hog of 10 point napping close to I-80 eastbound mile 261. Shame but they are rutting and the baby machine apparently survived.
I would love to see Arrons saddle setup from the ground to see what his backdrop looks like! Just want to see if the deer could spot him easily. Thanks…..
Does anybody know what area of Southern Indiana they are hunting I have a feeling they're hunting up by Patoka Lake where is Northeast of where I live I live in Evansville if that is the area there hunting in there are some big bucks up there
I love Dan's casual comment when that doe blew at him; " I don't know why they just can't leave."

Is there That much pressure?
Its not that bad , the deer are in isolated pockets some of the forest are big , acorns dictate where the deer are
Just hunted Clark state this weekend. Was tough but a ton of fun! Wanna try hoosier national in the future

I put a very small carabiner at the end of my rope and put a loop a few inches up. I put the carabiner through the cam and connect it to the loop.

Definitely my favorite PLC Video style that you guys have brought us!

Excellent footage! My prediction day 4 - The Beast gets on the scoreboard with a buck and Catman puts down a doe.
Love the hat in this one Dan
Enjoy the combination of all of the hunting groups; easier than going to different channels.

Jon has a way of explaining his hunt that has me visualizing it perfectly. But, good Lord, of all the directions that buck could have run off to...
I would love to see you guys in South Alabama in Mid January or early February.
The hunting beast stomping through the woods talking as loud as possible about hoping nobody has been stomping through the woods
