Ambidextrous, fast, with a phenomenal eye to set up center forwards with precise flanks....many Seria A teams had no answer to his constantly switching position....a Leader that never ever played statical. In my opinion the absolute greatest leftback Germany ever produced. The way he and Lothar Matthäus made every match a battle was spectacular. Both were phenomenal under Trapattoni. And upfront you had Klinsmann just waiting for the precise flanks Brehme would provide. He was the Arjen Robben of Leftbacks....fast, dynamic, charismatic....his left foot was Brazilian, his right foot German. Rest in peace you damn Legend....

With his shooting it was impressive how often he'd take one touch and then BAM, he'd catch keepers out so often, and look at some of those crosses! He's the greatest full back ever because he also knew how to defend, absolutely ridiculous, RIP that man.
He was in one of the greatest German teams ever. It was during that time when Gary Lineker coined the expression “football is about 22 men chasing a ball and eventually Germany win”.
