I can't wrap my head around this, he takes freekicks with his left, yet he takes penalties with his right...
He is also the only player in history to have converted a World Cup Penalty shootout penalty with his left and his right foot. If you can just choose a foot in that situation you are truly special. He said once his dad did not allow him to use one foot more than the other when growing up and that is why he became so skilled with both feet.
He is the greatest full back of all time, bar none.

In WC 86 he played as right back but scored against France by left foot!
The reverse was in WC 90, he played in the left back and scored against Holland and Argentina by right foot, but scored by the left one against England. Pele, George Best and Bobby Charlton, they were able to play with both feet at the same level of performance, but they do not reach the level of Andreas Brehme in this regard.
Furthermore, for penalty he prefer right foot but the left one for free kick !!

An enigma but in fact he is right footed. I discovered that when the most important kick of his life i.e. wc finals was taken with his right foot. He also predominantly travels with the ball on his right foot. But I don't know if I will ever see a player that proficient with both feet. He crosses shoots passes tackles with both feet that is remarkable balance.

1) Berti Vogts : one of the best ever, awesome performance vs cruyff in wv final 1974
2) Hans Peter Briegel : could play on both side but also centre back
3) Karl-Heinz Schnellinger : milan ac legend, not sure you can find much footage about him
4) Manfred Kaltz : king of bannana crosses
You forget to mention Paul Breitner. He was the leftback in WC 1974.
Fun-Fact: Both leftbacks (Andreas Brehme and Paul Breitner) shot the winning penalty in the WC final.
And Philip Lahm was captain in the WC 2014. I think he was the best fullback.

MANNNNN this is awesome how did u find this stuff??? He made me miserable when he took that penalty against Argentina in 1990 but he is one of the best of all time just pure talent and crazy tackles shots and passes i remember they used to call him the golden boy in italia in 1991

布林美, no one right now can match his standard in the current German team, retired Philipp Lahm and Jörg Heinrich can play in left and right. Left winger Christian Ziege in Euro 96 was great but he really should have stayed in Bayern Munich.
