My fianceé and I named our cat Cait Sith. Last night, we said goodbye to her as she was put to sleep. This scene rang in my head all night. "Don't forget me, even if another Cait Sith comes along."
His death becomes more painful than Aerith's when you grown up. No matter that he controlled by Shinra man and there is an another Cait Sith doll, we all know that real Caith Sith died in that fucking temple.
Yeah, I feel like everyone saying how he “came back”, are kind of missing the point… but then I don’t even have the heart get mad or correct them. Just let it be, I guess.
I can't believe how horribly awful watching this is. It is obvious that the story tries to point out he is independently aware and able to think for himself even if he also in some ways he is being remote controlled/has no free will of his own. The whole sad music, getting hurt after tripping over, and words of courage yet regret is to highlight to the players that an actual person is about to get killed in the temple and that Cait Sith was NEVER merely a remote controlled toy.
This might be 6 years old, but i still have to hint at something. Cait sith falling is probably reeve releasing his controle. There is this weird blink moment and cait sith dancing afterwards as if testing his movement. Also the translation could be bad. "I can still move more" could be "i can move freely again". The translation in general is not the best
@@federicomachado811 Dead ass. And the inappropriateness of WHEN he returns legit ruined this character for me. Glad you like the character, but I gotta disagree. Cait Sith sucks in the OG imo. Thankfully the remake seems to be setting up his narrative properly this time.

Reporting in from 2024 ‼️ **Spoiler alert for Rebirth** ‼️ FF7 Rebirth plot details ahead, come back after beating the modern 2024 remake/rebirth. ⬇️ Both scenes hit harder now than a ton of bricks. I cried so much in this game 27 years after playing original countless times these are two of the best scenes in both versions. They are not identical but wow are they still impactful and heavy.
Cait sith's story arc is about penance and forgiveness. It's about regaining trust, moral redemption and the ultimate sacrifice for the ones you care about.

Cait Sith is sometimes controlled by reeve, sometimes not. The whole memory and personality was backed up on reeve’s computer and was also put into CS #2.
Cait Sith's "death" was tragic and made me take a shot during my run through the game. As an honor to his sacrifice Then he came back and I was like...wtf?
Coming here from seeing this scene in FF7 Rebirth, while Rebirth has been a great game, this scene hits SO much harder than how they did it in Rebirth.
Don't wanna be disrepectful, but Aerith's dead is like Jesus dead, they sacrificed themselves but knew they would still be living but without a physical body.
I wonder why they went with a Scottish accent for Cait Sith. I didn’t Invision him/it/whatever with that. I Don’t hate the decision but questioning it.
Because Cait Sith is based off the Scottish mythical creature. "The Cat Sìth is a fairy creature from Celtic mythology, said to resemble a large black cat with a white spot on its chest. Legend has it that the spectral cat haunts the Scottish Highlands. "
And also he is speaking with a kansai accent (maybe some other, I can't really tell) in Japanese, so maybe that's why they went with giving him an accent in the first place
This has got to be the most head-scratching story choice the FF7 writers made. To kill off Cait Sith, who is a weird ass superfluous character, only to have him immediately return. Like wtf?
@@bluebirdsigma Possibly. But they kind of made things up as they went, as I understand. They even floated the idea of killing off all party members except three as you enter the Northern Crater. Maybe they initially considered killing off Aerith in the Temple of the Ancients, but ultimately went with Cait Sith or something.
honestly i just saw this for the first time and my reaction is um i feel like this was extremely over dramatic. it was estabshaed this was a freaking robot toy being remote controled from shrina hq. how is this even emotional. i honestly felt like it was like watching one of the doctors regenerate or something.
