Looking at how much variety there was in the PS/PS2-XBox/360 days you can see how much exclusivity deals have hurt sports games.
But that was the obvious signing contracts saying ONLY YOU can do such and such with the league or ONLY YOU can do a game on our league in general is a scheme in itself

Man I'll never forget the Christmas I got NBA live 2000 and NBA shootout 2000 legit playing them back to back and loving the differences in both games. What a great time to it was to be a gamer.

As someone who owned NBA Live 2000, I remember thinking it was a bold move for a simulation game to arbitrarily decide they wanted some of their dunks to send players 17 feet into the air. Live's toe-dip into those arcade elements is what led me to try NBA 2K2 a few years later. The rest is history.

Live let us down after them going to XBOX 360, PS3… but that’s EA since 2005
EA git embarrassed in 2005. Live wasn’t a very good game with a serious AI flaw and cost $50.
Players ALWAYS stooped to turn around and catch the ball.
In 2K5, the gameplay was smooth with solid AI and cost only $20!
The rest is history.
Sega Dreamcast was very unique, ALLEN IVERSON IS THE BEST NBA PLAYER EVER.
Only thing I hate about 2k is they don't have a 1996-1997 version of Iverson,they have 10 Jordans 10 different other players ect,but one Iverson,and they never got him right, 2k got Iverson looking buff 💪🏿,
But looking at this makes me love my 2k more can't complain about the graphics they came along way,I wish live was around,plus I wish NFL 2k's we're also
