You are an excellent instructor with a very accessible style. I'm retired now but I used to head technology and curriculum development at technical college. This video would have gotten you hired on the spot. People who teach technology for a profession should be required to watch your videos.
Thank you very much
Special request.... You should do an indepth tutorial on owncast.. you are amazing..
I plan to but I have been so busy with installs and fixing church AV systems. I've had very little time for tutorial videos
I very much appreciate your teaching videos. I did exactly what you instructed in this video to do and PRAISE THE LORD! I now have a linux server that can live stream using owncast. I would like to see more videos on owncast. I need some understanding on things like bandwidth, how live streaming on my own linux server will impact my internet service. My goal is to use what I learn in my church.
Thanks AJ. Very good information.
Glad to help
Thank you this is what I was looking for in learning about self-hosted live streaming options. Interested to see part two where you embed into a website. Some questions to cover may be, what are the maintenance requirements of a self hosted Owncast server? Is this accessible for someone with basic computer skills or do you recommend something else? What are startup and ongoing costs of self hosting? Interest in alternatives to corporate ownership will continue to grow. Thank you.
thank you, very clear very informative
You are welcome!
Flux Web3 decentralized Hosting servers are a option to self Hosting, no maintenance never will go down redundancy built-in 90% cheaper than AWS RunonFlux
I'll look into that. Thanks
Thanks so much bro
You are welcome
Can i do multiserver ? And can i see out of my net
It's such a shame that propresenter and other high end programs don't run on Linux. It would be so nice to get awzy from Mac and Windows forced updates which usually means that something that ran well, doesn't any more and you might only notice it when e.g. no sound gets to where it should (I had uninstall, then re-install VB virtual cable which we use to send stuff to Zoom)
We used to stream in the late 90's: the camera capture was visual on a folder on the machine. So as to make it accessible from elsewhere, we put the dyndns link on the website. The only thing was, the more people watched the more resources it consumed. Would the same sort of thing happen with Ownserve?
It's like we're still getting presents 🙂

Can I see a video how you set up your own server
I'll work on that
Hey Ajay, if we any performance that is using pre-recorded songs from RUclips, is also not allowed in owncast stream, right?
You can stream anything you want with Owncast
Technically yes but you shouldn't stream things you do not own
How do you find the IP address of hardware?
In Ubuntu it is listed under networking or ba terminal use ifconfig
Can you please do a video on cable management? How can we install ptz cameras and all the wires and have it look clean? Thanks!
I personally would hid them in the walls but if that is not an option, I usually get some conduit from Lowes to hold and conceal the wiring
@@AJaytheCEO Ok, thank you!

My bad
How do I get the SSL working so that I can host this on my domain / website? I'm having issues figuring out how to get this working using Nginx. Any advice?
I haven't work through that yet but I'll make a video when I get that done now that my system is back working
