Dude, you and your family are so kind to take all that extra time to talk to people and share your new truck with them. Really cool. And letting that guy do the backflip off the Tonneau cover... Sweet!
indeed. Would enjoy the celebrity status but breaking away from people is hard when its an enjoyable experience but then you have to live your life too. That's anxiety-inducing because people have bad intentions sometimes... and you don't want to be the victim of course. Its a small badge of honor to have a 'diamond' on the road but it has its concerns.
Wow, I am from the Balkan region in Europe, it's amazing how many people freely approached him and engaged in conversation about the car. Here you would get an occasional kid badgering you for 15 seconds, until his parents give them a side eye and drag them away while apologizing.
This person is a real man, obviously a good provider, he handles every situation, he is never in doubt, his wife and children can rely on him, he inspires confidence and security - he drives a Tesla Cybertruck! 😂
You've got to post excerpts of this to drive traffic. The people's reactions in the different areas are really fun and unique. It's like a feel good story 😄
I love watching people get excited about new tech. Every year growing up I was constantly amazed. People get excited about so little now a days. Love seeing this.
The woman who found it 'ugly cool' seemed surprised that you weren't from another planet when you said Michigan! Ha! The two biggest takeaways I got from this though are that people are just fundamentally nice and excited about the Cybertruck, but the amount of conversations seem like the part that slows supercharging down so much! It does make me happy that it'll take forever for my reservation to become a real order.
2:44 this is why I followed you in the first place. The Race to Vegas style videos from other channels are cool, but you do a great job of showing real life usage with a young and growing family. Of course we need to make stops, but that’s ok because we’d be making these stops anyways. Excited for this trip vid
Thanks Chris & Family for sharing the CT experience about your CT. ❤CT. 28:10 all icers are wowing 38:59 about this beast. The amount of positive expressions make it so emotional. Plus, it's 100% made in Texas, America. ❤
I live surprisingly close to you. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for a cyber truck cruzing around fenton. I myself am waiting on the model 3 ludicrous to be released, but this video might have just convinced my wife that road tripping in a tesla with our 2 kids isn't as bad as she thought.
We have other road trip videos too, we went to Florida last year and Tennessee 2 years ago when the kids were even younger and more difficult. The charging stops are perfect for needy kids.
So great to see someone so humble, accommodating and personable with complete strangers along the way on your roadtrip. I'd be the same way if I were traveling with a CyberTruck because of how unique it is. Why not share how cool it is with people that might not see one very often? Totally cool video man. Much respect.
Man, what a great edit Chris!!! It is such a perfect mix of humor information and wholesome human interactions.

Wow, I think Chris and the family are getting to know what it is like to be a genuine celebrity, as it pertains to public encounters. Stephanie and the kiddo at 41:59 look like they're trying to escape the paparazzi! CT really seems like a double-edge sword. It's gotta be cool to have so much positivity with random folks throughout the day. At the same time, what a slow-down for everyday tasks.
Chris, I thought, should I watch the zillionth Cybertruck video at all? But then I said yes, because I saw you just picking it up the other day and knowing it's a novelty also for you and you are sincere and usually I watch your 11.xy FSD videos but now you're without it - let's see. And while I love seeing the positive reactions by strangers all around (isn't it what America should be anyways?), my first thought after watching 2/3 of it (the first thoughts are usually significant!) was that it fills me with positive and happy vibes seeing that you have a great companion in your life! Stefanie is great, and I don't write it because being envious - I have a great wife as well, but as I'm now retired, I spend a lot of time on youtube and watch many kinds of videos, and usually feel sorry for those guys exploring the country alone, thinking if they have someone (presumably not). So, seeing you having a happy family fills my heart with something undescribable - it is definitely one of the important factors why I like watching these videos rather than tv dramas or even horrors! I hope my words will help leading you through some tight spots in life, even if I don't give any wisdom (as similar words of strangers had helped leading me, often many years apart from being said and making sense).
Okay, I was wrong. I thought a long video wouldn't capture the attention of the average RUclips viewer but this video is awesome! The interactions with the people that you've encountered are great. Love it.
I know that trip well, many Michiganders make that trip two times a year! Happy to see so many positive reactions from normal people. Can't stand all the negative media reactions.
I doubt that there is not another manufactured product on earth that comes close to getting this much attention. I must confess you have a beautiful family Chris, but I watched this mostly to see all the attention and comments from onlookers… ✌🏽👍🏾😁
Reminds me of when I got one of the first Hummer H2s around 2003-2004 in bright yellow (ugh) and went to see my grandparents who lived in the middle of nowhere Indiana. Entire town basically came out to see it. Awesome experience.
I've been waiting so long for this! Glad my referral credits went to your accelerated delivery! Hope to see much more of the Cybertruck on your channel
Wifey seems happy that always a good sign . Over all a great vid Chris , had my interest all the way through . Not an easy trip with a couple of little people , but as young parents i thought you pulled it of well , despite all the attention you received. Love the way your wife shares the driving , kudos to her . Looking forward to future updates and family adventures as your content is always relevant and interesting . Great real-life video! Thank you both for sharing your experiences. I'm not sure many families could share that time on a road trip. That was so good. Have a great trip.
I have been subscribed to your channel for a while since hearing about you from Tailosive EV. This video has been my favorite from you so far. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did because I haven't been very interested in past CT road trip videos. You knocked it out of the park with this one. I especially liked the reactions. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along with your family!
Honestly, I watch this video only for the reactions and feedback. Thanks for posting, when you asked I was thinking it will be a little boring, but the reactions ... priceless!
Dude tip of the hat to your wife. You got a keep there! Great job amazing video very cool to see you have real-world experience with the family! Keep posting as always and it was great to meet you in Austin when Sandi pulled in 😮.
We did a 700 mile road trip this past weekend to Mammoth from San Diego and also had the experience of nearly empty superchargers with tons of open spots! :D It was great.
Bro, I literally saw a video in the notlification for this video, and the next thing was I'm watching it. This is the best vlog of all time, I love Teslas and espacially your channel, this is the best one, thanks so much man.
Man, I thought you were never going to get to Florida..LOL!!! It's nice to get some real world reactions. All we get are trolls purposely stalking Tesla pages with the most to say about Tesla, the CT and EVs in general. I'm like you. I drove a gas car long before I got an EV. I still have a gas car. It's going on 11 years old. So I don't care what a person drives. And I'm not trying force EVs on anyone. So I love the reactions you were getting..even the ones who didn't care for EVs. Although I suspect they've never been in one or driven one but maybe fear what they don't like and hate what they don't understand
2021 Spring Break we drove my MX to Orlando - several superchargers had lines. Tesla charging has done an amazing job putting in so many more sites since then. 😊
I personally aim for 60-90 minutes and I'm your age with no kids. 2 hours is a long leg for me so EV perfectly matches my preferences. I also have a bad habit of getting a 32Oz drink at every stop so I'm always peeing all day long.@@DirtyTesla
Regarding peeing every hour.....it means that as long as I stop where there is a supercharger I can literally stop for 4-5 minutes to pee and then my "long" charging stop is only 15 minutes. Of course this is in a Model 3 where I get over 1,000 mph charge speeds.
I'm extremely happy with these things, even the audio is great unless someone is talking far away. Made filming certain situations possible that would have been impossible otherwise.
Man I am getting very envious. You're having so much fun on that road trip. I have a cyber truck on order but by the time I get it everybody's gonna be used to it by then.
Editing the audio on the conversations was the worse 😵💫 normally these videos it's just us talking, I didn't even think about the audio of a person a few feet away in a busy parking lot lol
Awesome video! I watched the whole thing, and I'll bet it was exhausting interacting with all of those people, but you did a great job being positive. Have fun in your trip, and safe travels on your way back
the only downside I noticed from other cybertruck reviews is that the tonneau cover isnt waterproof. so keeping luggage, bags, etc in the bed on a roadtrip isnt the best idea unless you want them wet. I dont know why tesla couldnt make it waterproof - atleast from the rain :(
Yeah, I need to check the weather for the way home. Tbf, it's not like a ton of water gets in, but some can. Easiest solution I've thought of is to put a tarp down, put your stuff on the tarp, and then just fold it over your stuff. Water seems to come down the sides, not like rain all over everything.
I think stopping to charge is a good thing. It promotes us to rest and have a break. We spend our whole lives rushing to get things done. A holiday/family trip should be easy and smooth.
I just went Canton Ohio to San Antonio Texas. 12 charges, they were slow compared to my Silverado EV tho. 1800 miles on mine as I sit in San Antonio. Next stop Jacksonville Florida, then back to Ohio
"have fun charging that thing for 45minutes!" "Yea well, I'll be done talking with all these folks in about 50... So, perfect timing" 😂 Must be so cool to grab one of the first in your area! Can't wait for FSD to get pushed to it and to see your videos again. I've been messing with 12.3, although there's some areas I don't particularly enjoy, but plenty that's been improved.
Great video, man! I haven't seen a family road trip video in the Cybertruck before. I've seen every other video, but this is a unique perspective and I loved it. Great work, thanks for the effort.

Excellent video. Thanks to you and your family for taking the time to share this with us. Very interesting to learn how addicted you both are to Autopilot. I guess once you get hooked there is no going back....
I only have Cruise Control on a Corolla and the difference even that makes on a trip is astounding. Autopilot with autofollow would be at least twice as good, but FSD Beta I can only dream about!
It seems like the wiper stays down in order to prevent water from creeping up the window during rain. If the wiper goes right back up, in light rain, then the pooled water on the blade will come right back up the window. While staying down, the rain is funneled towards the driver's side where it looks like it's more out of the way.
I only have one thing to say: Franz is a genius, Cybertruck is making all the commercials by itself for free.
It was elons idea but yea
Dude, you and your family are so kind to take all that extra time to talk to people and share your new truck with them. Really cool. And letting that guy do the backflip off the Tonneau cover... Sweet!
