Absolutely fantastic for my mental health. Headphones on and shut the world out for a while. Start getting overwhelmed if I haven't managed to get out for a while. Highly recommend it.
Unfortunately I've give up on detecting and sold all my gear. Getting permission in my area was like getting blood from a stone. It just wasn't happening. The organised digs were a little unfair as the organisers would sweep the fields first and getting amazing finds which encouraged the group but obviously they got some of the best bits before we would get to dig. I'll still be watching your videos though. I really enjoy them.
I'm plagued with arthritis in a hip, so I can't walk very far any more. 😞

When I beat him, I would get a dead arm. The hug and the dead arm in certain situations mean the same thing is my point in a stupid bloke way.

My father always told me if I couldn't hang, to go look in the dirt or into a plant. Concentration there, whoa its alive the longer u look. Geezo! We r small. I took up detecting a year ago and around that time I was really struggling with stress and anxiety, about half an hour into detecting for the first time, I stood up and thought to myself....."this is the most normal I've felt in months" and I've been hooked ever since, I started my channel after about 3-4 month to give me something extra away from metal detecting that I could occupy myself with and it's worked wonders.....I love this hobby so much!!
Yes Kris, this is exactly why I do metal detecting....finding stuff of interest is a bonus...but the most important thing is being outdoors, clear, focussed head and the quiet....

It is well known that metal detecting and being out in the field with peace and quiet, promotes a positive mental health benefit. I get it from metal detecting and also gardening at the allotment. It looked lovely out there Kris, a great hunt plus a couple of pints with mates, nothing better.
Yes. Its the quietness and the views i relate to. For me sleep was my escape from acute depression. So detecting gives me the same feeling but while im awake
