This was from the 2002 VHS release which had sections in B/W due to rainbow interferences(part 4 was entirely in B/W) on the NTSC off air VHS used in the restoration. They are have been recoloured using the chroma dot colour recovery process for the 2012 dvd release.

David Hunter from crossroads ,the scenery in Dr.Who is on a par with crossroads, he undoubtedly felt at home acting in this.
Where was the improved audio sourced from?
The colour domestic Betamax recording rather than the optical soundtrack on the B&W film recording.
@@ryankomitor7391 they also used off air audio recordings from the original broadcast.
