Ahhhh this is awesome!! For the life of me I couldn’t figure this out by ear and for years all the chords I looked up started on D and while playable, it just never sounded ‘right’. This is bang on! Awesome tutorial mate and a beautiful chord progression by Dean Manning!

I can't thank you enough for your excellent tutorial. Here's a question though, if I want to play it in the key of C, what fret would I put my capo on? If that's at all possible? Thanks in advance, and keep up the great lessons. Subscribed :)

thanks for the note - re C, that is going to be a bit tricky as it's a long way from the key here (F or 7 semitones). It might be best to check out the sheet music and change the voicing of the chords in the song.... I'm sorry not to be of more help. Check out the sheet here www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0043471_U7

Wow, thank you for such a quick reply. You’re a proper RUclipsr, not like the ones who never reply. You’ve actually been very helpful providing me with that link. Interesting though that it’s originally in the key of C minus all the fancy chords!!! But now I have to hurt my brain and work it out. Thanks again.

I found this quite helpful, thanks. I did think you went way too fast on the chorus. I'm still trying to catch all the different chords. But otherwise, thanks for the tutorial.

Overall, you've done a pretty good job. However, the first chord is most definitely not any kind of minor. That is a suspended. F sus 2 to be exact. Then, the guitarist flattens out the 5th note by a semitone, thereby making that c a b. The shape the guitarist in the video is playing is a d sus 2 shape, so with the capo at fret 3, that becomes fsus2.

Thanks for the note. If you have a listen into the song at verse 2, you'll hear the bass pedalling on D. That's why I've got the chord as a F/d or more commonly Dm7. If you have a bass player with you, go for the simple Fsus2 and have him play the D. If you're short of a bass player, you could play Fsus2/D, that would be pretty cool too. I'll ask Dean next time I see him. Cheers Simon

@@SimonMorelguitar yes. I forgot to clarify. On the intro, he's playing the f sus etc, but also when everything apart from Abby's voice and the guitar drop out, he goes back to the f sus in the outro. Other verses are the b flat minors. Correct.

@@josephwalsh1375 I'm glad it helped. Good luck with the guitar.
