SNATCH (2000) Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch | Brad Pitt | Jason Statham

- Steph And Andrew watched Guy Ritchie's Snatch (2000) for the first time and experienced one of the greatest performances by Brad Pitt (Fight Club, The Big Short & Seven Years in Tibet) and Jason Statham ( Fast X, Meg 2: The Trench & Wrath Of Man). The movie takes place in London where unscrupulous boxing promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian gangster, incompetent amateur robbers, and supposedly Jewish jewelers fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond.
The movie also stars Stephen Graham (Peaky Blinders & Venom: Let There Be Carnage) and Vinnie Jones (X-Men: The Last Stand & Bullet Proof).

That's not them admitting Brad Pitt has a poor accent, that's Brad Pitt absolutely fucking nailing the traveller accent
On the DVD commentary in some scenes when Mickey is talking, the captions will occasionally have "??????".
He got his inspiration from watching Father Ted, lol.
There's literally videos of Irish people reviewing Irish accents done by foreign actors and all of them unanimously love Brad Pitt's accent in this and they laugh and say "is it weird that I can completely understand him. He sounds like people I have actually met."
brads accent perfect,it simpossible to understand what travellers say
@@Phi2358As an American and more importantly a lover of everything about this film, I can catch everything Mickey says too…but I’ve watched this film a million times since it was in theaters. It gets easier.
Coming from the other side of the pond, I can say Brad’s accent is real and I can understand every word
100%. Even the periwinkle blue.
Unless I’m completely misremembering it, the best part of the scene where they’re ‘trapped’ in the bookies is the reveal that they simply had to pull the door instead of push it, as demonstrated when Tyrone entered. This is the second reaction I’ve seen where this beautiful moment is completely missed “don’t close the door” - why? It was never locked. Correct me if I’m wrong
It comes from a real event a building society gets blagged and the robber is trying to push the door open hes giving it his all then he gives up and resigns himself to his fate then an OAP pushes the door open he takes off running I think there's a video on RUclips of it 👍
No you are correct, it was an inward door not an out on to the street. so all they needed to do was pull NOT push.
You're right
@@nothernmonkey8612 Yeah I remember seeing that, it is a real situation. I love the way the old person just wanders up and the criminal just bounces.
Everyone seems to miss that for some reason 😂
His accent is actually very accurate
RIP Dennis Farina.
And this is also the kind of performance I love out of Jason Statham. The guy doesn’t just kick ass, he can act. Kinda wish and hope he does more like these films again.
And Mike Reid (Doug The Head)
as an Irish Traveler I can say that Brad's accent in this movie is pretty much spot on.
A very different role for Brad Pitt and he nailed it, he was brilliant. Also, the directing and editing is so damn good.
I think Brad is underrated because of how good looking he is. He is a great actor who people tend to think is A list because he has an A list face, but really he kills every role he's in.
100 %@@user-ij2fi3ku8q
@@user-ij2fi3ku8q I thought he was incredible in Interview with the Vampire, and more recently in Bullet Train he was hilarious. But because he’s a pretty boy, people don’t take him seriously as a legit actor.
Even the small role in true romance is hilarious
@@rogersjgregory My two favorites for Pitt are Inglorious Basterds an Moneyball. But I love Bullet Train too. Haven't seen Interview. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was also great acting on a great script.
"If ya want ya friend ta here ya!.. You'll av ta talk a lot louder than that!" 😂
Stephen Graham just adds the ‘YES’ to everything he’s in.
Where did you guys see the similarities with Ocean 11? Snatch is on another level.
They didn't see any similarities, because there are none...they're mental.
hard to find movies like this anymore... the story, the actors.. just perfection
"You could park a f¤¤king jumbo jet in there"
Brad Pitt’s accent was actually amazing in this and very close to being real
Can’t say I’ve ever seen the humor of this movie go over someone’s head, more frequently, than these two, it’s almost sad to keep watching.
I thought the same 😂😂
Yeah, I’m out. It’s just painful..
I felt the same too. If you're genuinely offended by Doug The Head pretending to be Jewish in the Diamond business then you should probably not watch it.
Really? I thought they got it. It's just that they were too engrossed & trying to figure out what was happening that you migt mistake it.
@@salladinthegreat🤦♂️Watch their review at the end. They specifically mention that "Jewish joke" as very funny.
I think 90% of the jokes went over your heads
First people I've seen be so hell bent on comparing this to the Oceans franchise. I don't think it's anything like those movies at all. So I'm a bit confused why you were so caught up on making that comparison. Seems it made you miss most of the point of the film since you kept waiting for stuff you know from Oceans to happen.
Yeah it's odd. How can they not know Snatch? Come on guys??
"never underestimate the predictability of stupidity" should be thsi channel motto
You should watch Lucky Number Slevin, super underrated, with Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley, top notch cast, top notch story, top notch humor and dialogue, similar vibe to Snatch :)
Highly agree
the scene with the 3 cars is a masterpiece 😂, also this is brad pitt's best role ever
Alongside with '12 monkeys'.
The way Pitt talks in the film is actually how travellers here in the Kingdom talk. Nobody can make any sense of what they say.
The original 'Ocean's Eleven' is from 1960.
Welcome to the age of remakes.
If you liked Snatch, you might like 'Lucky Number Slevin' (2006). Great story, great cast, but few seem to know it.
I suggested the same
@DanielRodriguez-eh1qd that is an AWESOME film. So well written and acted. I love it and may well watch it later now I've seen this! 😂
This film is like an accelerated Midnight Run. Which is truly superb, and also has Dennis Farina in it being even more hilariously gangster.
"In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary... come again?"
i Higly recommend you react to :
★ - *Smokin' Aces* (2006)

Underrated Gem♡
Great movie and so many awesome characters.
Yes please!
Love this movie!

My favorite Guy Ritchie film. IMO, his masterpiece.
Alan Ford is such an intimidating villain. I bet he is the nicest guy irl.
Second reaction video in 2 days that didn't realize the door was a pull/push lol. Such a good gag going unnoticed.
Last fighter Mickey fought was a top level European heavyweight called Scott Welch, who won the British title a few times. Nice guy by all accounts.
What Mickey actually said when Turkish asked him to fight again after Mickey's ma had just been removed from the census was: _"I'll do the fight before he (Bricktop) causes any more carnage"_
Interesting enough Guy Ritchie wasn't sure if he wanted to create a more serious dramatic movie with Snatch or go the same route as "Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels" so he shot the movie in such a way he could take it in either direction. Then the final movie tone was created during the edit process.
Fantastic movie! I love Guy Ritchie flicks!! :D
At one point for Mickey's speech the dvd subtitles just show "????" 😂🤣😂🤣🤣
What he says when they ask him to fight is "I'll do the fight before it causes anymore carnage." :)
And if you check out episodes of "My big fat gypsy wedding", Pitt's accent is actually pretty comparable! 🤣😂🤣
Yeah this and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels have that similar feeling to them that Guy Ritchie does so well in his British Gangster movies. Both absolute classics. Boris is probably my favourite supporting character in the whole movie, especially for the hallway scene, but really everyone is just so well written, so well cast, so well played it's fucking fantastic.
Fun fact: the DVD (and maybe BluRay?) version has a kinda hidden subtitle option where they only subtitle Brad Pitt's dialogue.
16:06 Actually that’s the name of the song, not the band, Angel by Massive Attack. Awesome track from an awesome album, Mezzanine.
So many good actors/characters in this movie. Brick Top makes is so good too 😅 dark, but his lines are written soooo well, and the way he talks.
youve seen alot of guy ritchie movies but missed this one??!! i cant believe that
its all abunch of bs
More Brad Pitt films please!
Kalifornia! Lol
Yay! It’s been a while. Happy to see Steph back!
The soundtracks are always class in Guy Ritchie's films. The tune where they burn Mickey's mum's caravan is Angel by Massive Attack & the tune during the fight scene at the end is fuckin' in the bushes by Oasis.
I enjoyed your reaction from London, and I have just Subscribed:) The reason for that Englishman pretending to be Jewish is that in Europe, whether it be Antwerp in Belgium or Amsterdam or London's: Hatton Garden they dominate the Diamond Trade. In London that is quite extraordinary as they are only 1 in 200 of the British population yet they are 70% of Diamond Traders and until recently, the UNofficial language of that Trade was YIDDISH NOT English, to keep the Business amongst themselves, which they used to do in other money making Businesses like On Course Bookmaking at The Racecourse. When the money dries up, they move on and I first saw that, at work, over 50 years ag in THe Tavi Business lol
Pikey is a derogatory term for a traveller, Romani gypsy. That's where the "not Irish, not English" line tries to land, but ultimately falls flat for foreign audiences outside of Ireland and the UK. That being said, my fave reaction on this channel for a long time 🤙
Traveller and Romani are distinct ethnic and cultural groups, each with their own unique history and traditions. Both communities have been subjected to derogatory terms, including 'Pikey' and 'Gypsy'.
Pikeys are Irish travellers. Romani are a different ethnic group all together, they're not even Romanian, they're closer to Indians.
@@thewonkyembouchure"Gypsy" isn't necessarily derogatory here in the UK. Many travelers call themselves gypsies, and if you're a friend of a traveler you can use the word in their presence provided it isn't in a negative context.
"P*key", however, is always an insult.
@@apostatereacts Well said. And I like the intent behind the asterisk.
If you watch The Walking Dead than you would recognize Sol, he play Morgan. When Sol and Vinny were stuck in the entrance at the bedding office after trying to get out, they could have gotten out if they only pulled the door open. They were kicking and pushing the door. When Tyrone came in, he just pushed it open 😅. It was opened all along.
And if you've seen Casino Royale with Daniel Craig, you might recognise Tyrone - he's in the poker game :P
The music for Ocean's 11 was done by David Holmes, who is a British DJ who was particularly well known in the 90's and 00's. He didn't do the soundtrack for Snatch but Snatch's soundtrack is very typically British, so that might be why there's a similarity.
Love honor and obey is a hidden gem with an all star cast
Yesss agree
Lot of American's only used to the clipped English upper class accent, while most of these are more like you'd hear in London depending on location. Even the attitudes aren't that far off from what we are like. Hell, bullet tooth Tony played by Vinnie Jones (ex premier league footballer) had a personality you could say makes him perfect for the kinds of roles like this he has had. IE not much need to act at all. :)
I have loved this movie since I saw it in 2002. Easily one of the most quotable movies I have seen. Everytime I watch it i laugh thru out it. Mickey and bullet tooth Tony are my fav.
"It was a funny angle." Is something a buddy of mine and myself would say evertime we saw people struggling parking or hitting another car in the process. That and anytime we saw someone do something incredibly stupid we would say "never underestimate the predictability of stupidity".
Fun fact: the guy who plays boris the blade, plays the bum who takes Bruce Wayne's coat in batman begins and says that is a nice coat.
One of my absolute favorite movies of all time. And Steph is my all time fav reactor. My wife. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Doug the Hat is played by Mike Reed a top UK stand up comedian and bullet tooth tony by Vinnie Jones a former professional soccer player.
"Ehh" "Ahh" "Yikes". Very insightful commentary. Really worth a close up of your faces.
Brad pitts accent is pretty spot on for a pikie
Both "The Gentlemen" and "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" are great Guy Ritchie movies. Also Matthew Vaughn, the producer of this movie, made a interesting crime movie after this called "Layer Cake" (or L4yer Cake as it is also spelled) staring Daniel Craig in one of his first roles.
'Layer cake' is a hidden gem.
The gentlemen was so surprising out of nowhere.🎉🎉❤❤
Yall cut the 2 most iconic scenes
Really illustrates the divide between the US and the UK. You've missed the humour entirely and most of the premise of the film.
My man needs to check his T levels.
it's funny but it is not a joke with the accents a lot of Travelers speak as fast and sound just like the way they do in this film AND you do not want to fuck around with them EVER if your Respectfull to them they are some of the best people you can ever meet.. but you mess with them and they will Fuck you up lol.
One of my all time favourite movies of all time. Proper Fucked is one of my catch phrases that i use all the time.
7:16 he moves really slick. Obviously, choregraphed but the step, weighted, then the shot. This is how real fighters fight, but they would hold the guard. But everyone wants to see Brad's face
1:38 This was the line Thanos used when he was questioning The Collector in Infinity War.
You guys called so many of the twists and turns…I loved it!!!
Greatest cast of characters ever!!!😂😂👍
You're actually wrong about Pitts accent, sure it's not PERFECT, but they weren't trying to cover anything with the 'not really Irish, not really English' line, just trying to explain it to a non UK viewer. He did pretty well with it.
"I love this song. I think Angel sings it". Close. The song is called Angel, by Massive Attack
And here's me thinking for all these years that the movie is called "Snatch", just like it says in the title, on the posters, on the promo materials, on the trailers and on IMDB! I feel such a fool! 🥴
great dialog and story. Love the soundtrack too.
At 17 minutes, he said he'd "do the fight before it causes anymore carnage"
Great reaction. You should take a look at another British gangster movie 'Sexy Beast' staring Ben Kingsley like you've never seen before and one of the best movie characters ever!
^_^ haha I don't think I've seen others be scared/disgusted by things in the movie before. I don't mind, was just funny.
"The Bank Job" (2008)
"Jackie Brown" (1997)
"The Italian Job" (2003 remake) story is very different from the original
"Layer Cake" (2004)
"Out of Sight" (1998)
"Parker" (2013)
The song is by Massive Attack and called Angel. You are correct sir. Amazing.
You guys have to watch RocknRolla (2008). It is one of Guy Ritchie's best.
Watch The Gentleman, Wrath Of Man & Man From UNCLE. All great Guy Ritchie films
“I’ll do da fight fer he causes anymore carnage” Mickey is saying he’ll do the fight before bricktop causes anymore carnage. Fighting so bricktop doesn’t come back and kill more of his friends and family
Guy Ritchie always makes excellent films. 🤩
Except for "Aladdin", which wasn't one of my favorites.
Brad Pitt’s accent is 10l% for real! He did an outstanding job, he sounds exactly like a pikey.
I really wanna see UFC tickling competitions.
They actually put subtitles on this film so the american audience could understand it!
7:00 Fight Club Brad Pitt got him this gig, and he placed well as the f**king piker. Also got Americans looking a Brit gangster movies. The world really
Guy Ritchies masterpiece❤
Fuckin in the bushes by Oasis was the perfect song choice for the end
Lennie James and Jason statham in it I will always watch it
Weirdly, a so-called (by some) 'pikey' (a travelling person) punched me in the back of my head a week ago! He was only about 11 and didn't like me photographing their horses and carts, even though they'd parked about 20 of them in London's trendiest High Street.
Subtitles is a must with this film.
😒 for WHAT?!
It took me a couple of watches to understand all the dialogues... definitely worth it!
Narrator in lock, stock and two smoking barrels is brick top.
actually many people say his accent is quite good
One of my favorite films. I highly suggest Lucky Number Sleven. Feels very close in style to Snatch. Another favorite of mine.
Please try and find a film called 'Dead Man's Shoes'. Starring Paddy Considine.
Snatch is one of my all time faves! Steph is so fine!
"D' ya like dags?"
I believe it's a gimmick. Snatch was the biggest film of the turn of the millennium. Flash has seen it before. Pretending.
17:15 "I'll do the fight before he causes anymore carnage"
Literally cut all the best scenes out lol 😆
Now the gentleman! and you'll have completed the trilogy xd
17:05 he said "ill do the fight before it causes anymore carnage"
The song you love is by Massive Attack "Angel". Bangin track
Love Guy Ritchie movies.
If you want connectivity, apart from this one, my other all-time favorite Guy Ritchie movies is The Gentleman and you I really hope you react to that one day
thats an irish gypsy accent, brad pitt pulled it off
17:00 "I'll do the fight 'fore it causes anymore carnage."
One small thing, the title is Snatch, not Snatched
Best line in the film. "Tomy is hopping he wakes up because it easier for them to kill him as well and put them in the ground and move on than talk to the police about a dead body in their camp. Its not as if they have Sosial security numbers!!! "
What a hard job, sitting through cinema you don't care about, for penny on a dollar, wishing you'll be fairy in a magical forest, flying 😂
Try The Gentlemen... another Guy Ritchie classic.
6:00 wrong that is a pikey accent done quiet well tbh
