  • Libre Tea glasses have health-conscious glass interiors for fresh taste and a durable polycarbonate exterior for 'on the go' practicality. The stainless steel tea filter is surrounded by BPA free polypropylene as is the lid interior. Three styles available: the Libre Original (260ml), Large (420ml) and Mug (280ml)

As a Barista, I know you cant add Boiling Hot water to this Libre, and then close the lids and turn upside down. It will Obviously Leak. The Pressure from the steam build up will cause the leaking. Basic Science people. You can't put Hot water into ANY bottle and close the lid, it will Burst from the steam pressure!
The Libre is basically designed for either stepping 'warm' tea and you need to wait till the steam has dissipated till you can put either of the lids on, as to not create pressure and seal breakage/leaking. OR you can use the Libre as an Iced Tea container. It works GREAT for Ice Tea. Do everything the same way, only with Cold water, and wait 24 hours in the fridge. Have a few on the go, ready for the next turn. :-)

The best part of this video is the sound of someone peeing at the end, which is exactly what happens when you drink too much tea - yup I went there folks.

Carlos Sandoval thanks. I became skeptical as soon as I saw it chilling upside down
Why is this so difficult for manufacturers? All they gotta do to fix the problem is follow the premise of the age old disposable plastic water bottle
Genuinely never known a disposable water bottle to leak like these inventions
They already got the filter and materials near perfected, just need a lid that closes

I assume this is a flask with a filter
    Very nice design

Mine has leaked really badly since the first use, and I burned myself because of it. The inversion method does not work, it is dangerous, and I'm extremely disappointed in this product since that feature was the main reason I chose this product.

Sorry to hear about you burning yourself! There should be no issue when used according to instruction unless there is a manufacturer's error. Please email info@libretea.com with your complaint and we will be happy to mail you a new Libre or issue you a refund. Happy new year!

+SpecialKindOfNerd I had the same issue on my first go with my new libre tea. Hoping its just user error and not just how the glass works.

yes Stacy - if you let steam clear and then close up and invert there should not be a problem - on occasion we may have to provide you a new seal - pls let us know - we have addd this steam warning on the box and the instruction in the glass upon purchase - many other use their Libre tea glasses very successful and love it as a way to ensure they enjoy great loose leaf tea all day anywhere, anytime.

+Libre Tea what do you mean by 'let the steam clear'? because isn't it double walled to keep the heat in? I did dry the threads and wait for quite a while for the steam and it was okay. but I don't trust it.

Sometimes the steam from freshly boiled water may cause a pressure build up which can cause a leak . Since our Libre Tea glass does not have a spout like traditional teapots that allow the steam to escape it's good to wait a few minutes for the steam to clear.
You can also try the spare filter seal that came with your Libre glass.
Please feel free to email us at info@libretea.com if you have anymore problems.

    Which way is ideal.

Green and herbal teas steep longer, so they do well placed in the glass , regular steeping. Black teas require a shorter steeping time, so the tea in the filter and inverting the glass works well.
When inverting the Libre, the 2 key things to watch for to prevent leaking 1. don't over fill ( we recommend adding water to below the rim of the tea glass) and wait for steam to subside before putting on the filter and lid. 2. When opening, release the top lid slightly and then the filter to ensure all water releases into the glass and does not remain in the filter section
