I have King, Rat, Racer snakes that keep my property clear of poisonous snakes here in north Georgia. Sometimes I go out and calmly pick up large Rat snakes like pets.
Always nice to see a new video from you guys. I have geese and have dealt with rotten eggs. That sound and smell is like no other, but you handled it very well! Funny how the geese found you in the barn, they knew just what you were doing! Hope they were grateful!!
Good morning, Jaclyn! Nice to see you! That was one stinky mess to clean up! I have a feeling that in the future, all eggs will be collected and incubated away from competing mamas! 💖😂💖 I am glad to see Cap gets some time with the other goats. I know as a herd animal, goats need the social connection with others of their herd. I have been wondering how his health is. Are you planning to breed him in the fall? 💖🤔💖
Hi Meg! I will for sure be taking eggs in the future if they try to nest where we need to be! haha The barn is scheduled for a transformation starting next week that should fix that issue too. Cap is doing great. I want to be sure his gut doesn't get out of balance with too much fresh forage, too soon, so I limit him with time on the pasture. He's out for 30 minutes to an hour once a week at least when I'm cleaning out his stall. I'm hoping he will be ready for the Winter breeding season. We would wait until late November or December to ensure we have Spring babies rather than risk kiddings in Jan/Feb. All of our does would be fresheners.
I have a snake phobia and didn't know that there are some snakes that eat other snakes... I never kill them, no matter if they are poisoning or dangerous.
Great job Jacklyn… Very Smart putting the hay on top of the eggs before you removed them. •We live, We learn and We move on…..I bet those geese won’t get to be broody on those eggs now!!! All about learning how to manage OUR FARM!! Great Job!!!
from your video titled: Getting our barn MOUSE PROBLEM under control | TSNIP Feral Cat Rehab Program from Mar 18, 2024. How is your 2 cats doing taking care of barn with mouse problem?
They’re doing great! I shared an update on Facebook last week. We only catch them on our cameras at night and they are very shy and hide during the day (typical of ferals). I’ve not seen any mice in the barn in a month!
I've wanted geese for a long time. This yr I had budgeted enough for chicks and a couple goslings to raise with them . Unfortunately I didn't get to purchase the goslings as they sold out fast. I've posted on the swaps and tried everything I could to locate some . I'm heartbroken. My chicks are now pullets and doing great . I guess I'm going to have to wait until next spring to get some. I'm disabed and working with extremely limited income so I'll be saving for them again. I've experienced the rotten eggs and boy do they stink . Had to laugh with you as you tackled that cleanup lol . God bless y'all and give cute girl a hug from Anna in Iowa
I hope you're able to find some! You can tell your local feed stores that get in chicks and ducks that you want goslings and they can usually add them to their routine orders in the Spring. You'd pay ahead and they'd hold them for you. It can be hard to find them locally otherwise because they're so limited.
❤❤❤
Your building is really loaded with pink roses!!! So beautiful! I remember when you first started them.
You have my deepest sympathy. A awlful job.

So happy i don't have geese so no stinky eggs...
That's an upside in this situation for sure!
I agree with power washing the tractor. Take care and stay safe. God bless
