I often wonder how we can have this type of wonderful era and then the world goes to shit with people identifying as barn animals and trans confusion nonsense.
I found this preformence about a month ago an I have played it a thousand times I sure am glad they got together. Before most of them.passed great band in heaven rip
Now that both Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis have passed on, it's so wonderful to see them both here with Ronnie hawkins. I have loved them and this music all my life.
Always liked Rompin' Ronnie Hawkins, who spent his entire career singing in Canada. Liked his growl and his upbeat tunes. RIP Ronnie! Would have loved to have been at his 60th Birthday party @ Massey Hall in Toronto.
Crickey what a BAND!!!! No wonder Rompin' Ronnie sounds even better than ever! He's one of those performers who put everything he had into his shows- needed to see him live-
An Allstar Rock Band with a mix of young and old and they are magnificent!! The Hawk might have spent more money than he made but he had a hell of a lot of fun doing it and he was such a major influence on the music in Canada! What Jeff Healey could do with a guitar in his lap is legendary. He should be on everybody's list of the top guitar players of all time....full stop!!!!
RIP Buzz Thompson the HAWK playing beside Carl Perkins. Died Friday July 6th 2018 in Toronto Ontario. Born in Peterborough Ontario where he will always be the number one Soul Brother. You're sadly missed by all Mr. Soul.
Harold Kudlats from Hamilton Ontario booked "the Hawk" into bars on Yonge St. in Toronto with the Hawks. I was very young. . .l know Ronnie called Kudlats "the captain" Recently Ronnie sold his place near Peterborough. I went to a party at the Zoomerplex for his birthday. Hopefully he'll have many more. ANNETTE
Lordy, Lordy, the amount of talent and experience in this group makes my heart smile. These are the people who have accompanied me through my life.. God Bless them and may their Memory always sparkle like it does in this video. Rest In Heaven to most of them.🎼🎶🖤
Sad to hear about his passing earlier today. What a rock n roller Icon, and great Canadian contributor. I have lived in the Peterborough Ontario area and knew he lived close by. I was always hoping that I could have run into him just to say Hi, but never got the chance. RIP Mr. Hawkins.
They say when you lose one of your senses the others get a bit stronger to compensate for the 1 lost. I think the soul in Healey's fingers got the brunt of that energy. I'm a guitar player myself and my style is of Hendrix, SRV, Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Rory Gallegher, Gary Moore, but Jeff Healey is just on another level. If i could ever get to 2% of how he could play i'll be happy.
Yeah Baby , this is what music is all about just letting it out and oh my Lord If it was on a Sunday it would be as good as going to church, I have seen Ronnie and the Harks many times at the La Coc Door Tavern, yeah I know it was a strange name but the music was off the charts. God Bless you Ronnie you are the real deal, I am a proud Canadian, long live that Toronto sound
Playing this video for just a little while all of a sudden makes everything in the world right again. Seeing Ronnie in prime form surrounded by sooo many legends. Jeff doing Down in the Alley.....wow. Since I lost my left arm in an MVA my life highlights will be forever poised on that stage with him in the 70s and the 90s. Ronnie was the best thing that ever influenced the Canadian Music Industry. I'll always love you Ron.
the talent on that stage is staggering. we have lost most of them now but videos like this one brings them back anytime we want to take the time to listen.
R.I.P.. Ronnie Hawkins. Thanks for posting this, Laszlo. What a great rockabilly concert. musicians and singers include: Ronnie, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Levon Helm, Robbie Robertson, Jeff Healey, & Lawrence Gowan.
so glad that I had the opportunity to see Jeff Healey live a few times and to shake that legends hand. What a great guitarist. No disrespect but he blew away those great old timers with his guitarmanship on ''Down in the Alley''.
Buzz Thompson the guitar player playing beside Carl Perkins was a legendary musician from Peterborough, Ontario Canada . Sadly Buzz or Mr.Soul as people around town called him passed away on Friday July 6th 2018 around 8:30 pm just in time to get ready for the gig with the big band in the sky. Rest in Peace Buzz you'll always be number One Soul Brother to me.
@@edhollingsworth2335 Yes Buzz Thompson was an outstanding individual and musician. I miss him daily. He passed too soon. May he be at Peace, Playing and Singing in Rest. Thank you for sharing your experience with him a high school! Did you go see him play with any of his bands he fronted or played with around the area over the year's? Or at any of the gigs he played at the school? ✌💞🎶🙏
No auto tune, just pure music! A missed note gets fixed by a little something better in the next bar. No one is perfect , and that’s why live shows with the greatest artists are the best , do their best and let the rest catch up.
Well, I have lived almost all my life in my great 50's music bubble. Been soo good to me. I for example love Elmore James. Nevertheless the slide at ca 7:23 is great, Jeff with the guitar on the lap... Yep, Jeff Healey. Died only 41 years old. Too bad. R.I.P.
I first saw Ronnie perform circa 1965 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Levon and the boys had already departed and I think he was being backed by Robbie Lane & the Disciples. First “real” rock band I I saw live and I was mightily impressed. 20+ years later I saw Jeff play at Clinton’s tavern in Toronto and again I was impressed…
The Hawk had one of the best Southern Rock voices ever!
Ronnie, Jeff, Levon, Carl and Jerry Lee all sorely missed. RIP.
When I need to remember what the real music was like I come back here
tres vrai !!!
Listening to this concert is the only drugs I need!!!
Rompin Ronnie was one of a kind. A CANADIAN ICON
Rock'n roll will never, never die...💟🕺🤘 wish i were at that concert... R.I.P fellas...see ya ❤❤❤
This generation will never know rock and roll like this
Masters of their craft. Each a legend

I was at this show. It was a party and a celebration of a life well sung. You were a legend Ronnie . RIP Hawk
THE PASSING ROMPIN' RONNIE SAW AN END OF AN ERA IN CANADIAN ROCK THOUGH HE WAS A LEGEND ALL OVER- ROCK IT UP THERE RONNIE! Love, Namaste to his family
Always liked Rompin' Ronnie Hawkins, who spent his entire career singing in Canada. Liked his growl and his upbeat tunes. RIP Ronnie! Would have loved to have been at his 60th Birthday party @ Massey Hall in Toronto.
Jeff Healey flat smokín' this jam!
Gone but not forgotten ❤️
The Hawk is gone, but never forgotten!
Crickey what a BAND!!!! No wonder Rompin' Ronnie sounds even better than ever! He's one of those performers who put everything he had into his shows- needed to see him live-
Almost all of them gone now 😢 - thanks for the music fellas....
Why oh why was Jeff Healy not one of the biggest rock/blues stars ever? He certainly deserved it!
He died young
He sure is incredible here!!
Listened to blues/rock for a long lifetime and this is the best by a group of legendary all-stars.
Good heavens, all the featured players are no longer with us -- even Jeff, who left us too early. Great band!
Have mercy !!!! Love it ! Now that's Rock N Roll my friends !
Amen to that.
RIP Ronnie thank you for the gift of your music you brought to us all
Какая сила, слушать можно вечно, какое величие, молодцы и дай Бог Вам всем здоровья.
Jeff burning it up !

RIP Ronnie. Wow! I've seen Jeff Healey play live thrice - but I've NEVER heard him play like that!
Rest In Peace, Ronnie! You made your (ours) hometown, Fayetteville, Arkansas, very proud.
Whoa, what a lineup. Brilliant stuff. Rock on.
I was there. One of the best concerts ever. Can’t top Ronnie. 👌👌👌
What a wonderful memory.
I wasn't there, but this is the greatest rock concert ever
I have the CD from this concert, wish I had a DVD. If you want to hear real music, this is what you need.
Carl Perkins is there too playing guitar of course! One of the best and most underrated!
huge
under rated? He was the personification of hitsville then and now....

OMG. Healed tore the house down every single time he played. Miss him, terribly.
I know, its only rock & roll....but I like it.
I grew up at the Le Coq Dor listening to Ronnie Hawkins. Now I remember why.

Thank you my friend. RIP Jeff. 😄
Rory Gallager was a monster performer. Even Angus Young can't cover as much stage as Rory. (I know because I worked two AC/DC tours.)
Following this man since the 60's. Marvelous talent and one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Rip Hawk.

The slide guitarist on Down in the Alley was Duane Allman, not Jeff.
