I hope you enjoy this video - I've taken a different approach that I felt matched the material better than throwing numbers, locations and labels at you for the length of the video. The last video touched on the significance of the 7, and specifically how that might relate to the 7 "tear" like objects we see in the wall mural of the new trailer for Tears of the Kingdom. This video takes that concept further, by unveiling the pattern surrounding the forgotten 8th - a pattern that features more prominently than you would think. Going further, it seems that Breath of the Wild has a borderline fascination with forgotten places, things, people and stories. Beyond that, the frequency of characters who either forget something, or are reminded/reminding others to remember something is at the very least odd, or quite possibly a hint for something greater. When we look at the mural, we can only guess at the figure depicted at the centre with arms open, embracing the light that beams above them. Could this figure, alleged to be anyone from Hylia herself to someone entirely new to the franchise, be the 8th member of something critical to saving Hyrule, and potentially Princess Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom? The 8 also becomes a variation of the Ouroboros, reflecting the infinite, and when triangulated, has an eerie resemblance to the shape of the Triforce... Considering the sheer brilliance of the community and the comments from everyone in the last few videos, I decided with this theory to present the findings in the vehicle of a story. As you have all shared your theories and stories with me over the past few months, I wanted to share one of mine that the ending is left deliberately unfinished. Maybe the answer will be one we can find together. As always, thank your for your support, and spending your valuable time here. I can't really tell you just how much the positive comments and engagement means - it definitely helps motivate! So you know, I always say "keep being amazing" because you truly are. Thanks to you all, I get to talk to some of the smartest, funniest, creative and fun people on the planet - so thank you! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on this one, and don't worry, there's plenty more on the way. I enjoyed it a lot! The story, the romance (not “romantic” romance), the legends, that is why I love Zelda! We’re saving a world and its people. We know those people and that world. I think we understand more when we remember that, like you did in this video.
Forgotten, lost, mystery, left behind. These words all describe the carving of the wall. 7 known races, sages, heroines, or groups coming together with the 8th lost and forgotten in the passage of time. Similarly, to a forgotten deity tie between link and the triforce of courage like the triforce of power and wisdom have. Great theory as always GameSmiths. These ideas in this video of yours won't be forgotten.
OMG Dan! You nailed that comment better than the script for that whole video. Honestly my friend, I'm motivated to make sure these theories are well thought out, unique and genuinely built with care, and I have people like yourself, the sages and my family to thank for that. Inspiration comes from the people I know - the real heroes - and you are definitely one of the greats my friend💚🌟
I said long ago when we got the first trailer. In Breath of the Wild we see two colors predominantly. We see Red (which in this game is more Orange really) glowing on Shrines and Towers. Then once we complete the challenge, we see Blue. However the one color that is missing from nearly all of Hyrule is Green. I believe Tears of the Kingdom will be about restoring lost courage. This ties in well with the situation with the Master Sword, as well as the Green glowing hand that has been holding Ganon at bay. My thought is that the Goddess of Courage has been battling Ganon the entire time, holding him back from fully reawakening. However, one can only fight for so long. Perhaps like in some other stories, their power is based on belief, and remembrance. If the Goddess of Courage has been forgotten, and isn't receiving the love of the people, it's power is weakening, and their very being is fading away, hence why there is only an Arm and Hand left.
The way that you tell the story, and how you stitch everything together is incredible. I didn’t think that Nintendo would be leaving clues in a game they made years ago. I love how everything can be made sense.
Thanks for watching and the kind words. I’m of the opinion that Nintendo knew they had something special with BOTW and that a sequel was planned midway through development. Certain mysteries I think were left there to create connections for this reason - not unlike what the MCU did in the Infinity saga. That said - I could always be wrong 😊. Thank you for the comment and all the best 💫
@@jumaanebey422 that’s very kind - really appreciate that - I think my voice is terrible but I hear that it’s common to not like hearing your own voice back. Super kind 💚💫
Looking back on the sites like the Spring of Courage with dragon statues and the 7 figures In Gerudo Desert, I feel like there’s much more of Hyrule than the History of Calamity Ganon and the History of Zelda’s Royal family.
Couldn’t agree more AJ - I’m being honest in saying I have over 30 theories already noted to cover about BOTW that are new or unique including some that challenge existing concepts. It really is a work of art that has almost endless amounts of material to consider and like any true art piece throughout history, I think new views and discoveries will continue to come to light over time. It’s a reason I started doing these videos actually - a drive to tell these stories and I’m so glad to have people in the community like yourself who bring their perspective to table. With many, we see so much more and thanks again for sharing your time and thoughts. All the best 💚💫
@@gamesmiths Link may likely be the 8th. The 8th is separate from the other 7 and is separated from its blade, sound familiar? The final battle of OOT where Link had the master sword knocked out of his hand by Ganon. Perhaps in the hero is defeated timeline(which BotW may occur after) Zelda’s power never awakened and she wasn’t able to assist Link during the final battle, instead leading to the sages being called upon instead, creating ALTTP’s backstory.
@@ausgamecollector Hey - good to hear from you. Don’t disagree with that. My personal “guess” at this stage is that it may indeed be Link, or more a bloodline / deified spirit of the Hero. There’s a reason I say that is I genuinely think there is a stronger connection between Link and Ganon than we know yet.

@@HaruVibes_ thanks and I must admit the audio is always my nemesis trying to get good sound. Might be time to upgrade the gear and hopefully improve that side of things. Good feedback thank you 😊
Sorry, but I think most of this is just numerological nonsense. The Heroines definitely have a "forgotten 8th" going on, that's explicit in the game, but dividing the goddess statues in half to make two groups of 8, calling the one in Gerudo Town forgotten, then revealing there's an extra, actually forgotten statue at what becomes Tarrey Town feels like fudging it to fit a pattern. And there's nothing about how the 3 statues at the springs fit into this. There may well be some "forgotten 8th" element to TotK's story, but I don't think the goddess statues are any evidence for it.
Thanks for the comment and appreciate your perspective. Creating a champion and in game text specifically states the Hylia statue in Gerudo Town is forgotten so that’s factual. I take your point on Tarrey Town but as this is not an existing settlement it can be completely missed as a side quest meaning it does not add into the set of 8 settlements. The springs represent the Triforce virtues which actually makes complete sense - they are also unique to the other statues in the fact they’ll are tied to their shrine quests. The mathematical frequency of references to list or forgotten/remembering themes in game is quite high. So whilst I appreciate your standpoint and am very thankful for your perspective, I did want to assure you the approach taken from a numbers perspective was factually based, not simply nonsense and has been something painstakingly researched and crafted with care. Regardless of that, I appreciate the feedback and gives me something to work on - this video didn’t actually put forward my theory in complete - but highlighted a theme in the game contextual to our current position. If the presentation of these facts leaves ambiguity then I’ll aim to do better next time as to leave no doubt. Thank you for your input and appreciate you taking the time to do so. All the best 💫

I know that the Zelda team developers are making Tears of the Kingdom darker than Majora's Mask. But I do not want Princess Zelda to die to break the endless cycle of death and rebirth Demise has placed upon Hyrule. Not because it will devastate Link and the very promise he had made to Urbosa. But she has been through a lot since before and during her time suppressing Calamity Ganon for the last 100 years . She deserves better and live her life for a Scholar dream. Personally I would throw myself off the bridge if this shit happens!
Hi AJ - thanks for watching and taking the time to leave your comment. If you haven’t noticed, I’m a huge fan of Princess Zelda myself and my daughter also idolises her too. Firstly - please never consider any drastic reactions because you never know the future and even when things can seem bad, they might work out later. Secondly - I genuinely don’t think this game is about that at all. I think it’s more about addressing the shades of grey in between the opposing forces that exist all around us. Even if I turn on the game and thought something happened to Zelda - I would guarantee that by the end of the story - whatever happens would be resolved to some degree. I believe that because it has happened before in other Zelda titles, and when I look at the character development I’m not only BOTW but also Hyrule Warriors AOC which was overseen by director Hidemaro Fujibayashi - I believe he has a connection with these characters that we fans have and I trust him to tell their stories with care and love. It’s something I see throughout his career and storytelling is something close to his heart so I don’t think you should be too worried regardless of what you see or hear now. Zelda is a staple of this series - and she’s not going anywhere 💚🌟
@@javiervasquez625 thanks for your perspective Javier and I love your passion for Twilight Princess - it’s a great story and the characters remain a driver of the connection we feel in that journey. It’s interesting in that I’d consider the gameplay as a major influence on that connection in how video games are so unique as an interactive medium. Twilight Princess to me is the refinement of linear progression, which provides the vehicle for that story and controlling the major beats as you have ownership of the players progression. I personally love Wind Waker as well and indeed BOTW - and I hear a lot of criticism about their respective narratives but I’d argue it comes at the sacrifice of player freedom and agency in an open world where progression is less linear. If you think about it, I don’t envy the task of trying to simultaneously tell a rich story in a scenario where the player can do anything at any time, let alone completely miss parts of the story if they choose not to or miss it entirely. The best game I’ve seen handle this issue is RDR2 and it’s for that reason I completely get why Aonuma referenced this as a major contributor and influence on the sequel. I find it hard to criticise BOTW and the storyline there - I loved it personally and I think you can love different stories for different reasons. But circling back to the influence of RDR2 - it suggests to me that Nintendo are looking to take that narrative to a new level whilst balancing player freedom. I think we’ll see this achieved with the inevitable sacrifice of some freedoms to “gate” progression at key moments - which has the potential to find the middle ground between the refined linearity of TP whilst balancing player agency like BOTW. Either way, as a fan going back to the original NES Zelda - I’ll enjoy it regardless 💚💫
