Wilco perform "Tell Your Friends", May 20, 2020 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as part of the shows, "Play At Home" series, and saw many of the musicians with their families in isolation during the C19 lockdown. All proceeds from this single donated to World Central Kitchen.
The single was produced by Jeff Tweedy and Tom Schick, and was recorded at Wilco's, The Loft studio in Chicago.
This clip wasn't available on the internets for a long time, except for on shite X/twitter. With that said, if anyone from Colbert or WILCO would like this removed, please just send me a note and I will comply immediately.
Tell Your Friends(Lyrics)
Don’t forget to tell your friends
When you see them again
O’ I love you
O’ I love you
I wanna hold your hand
C’mon let’s twist again
I wanna hold your hand
When I see you again
Don’t forget to tell your friends
This is going to end
O’ and I needed you
O’ I need you
Our love is right
Our love is real
Our love is now
Our love is real
I want to hold your hand
When I see you again
Don’t forget to tell yourself
When you see them again
O’ I love you
O’ I love you
Our love is real
Our love is right
Our love is now
Our love is right
Don’t forget to tell your friends
When you see them again
O’ I love you
O’ I love you
Thank you.
Remembering David Handelman. Beautiful song.
Thanks for posting this for David ❤
It was already posted early this year. However, David was the one who got me to post it to YT. In December David emailed me, the video had been removed from the interwebs, everywhere, shorty after its airdate, for some unknown reason. David found the only existing version still on the interwebs, in a long forgotten Tweet. He sent me the link and asked if I can RIP it and post to YT! I don't know the timeline his illness took, so I'm not sure what his motivation to get it posted was, other than I know he loved the song... but man o man, I am so glad I could do it, for David!
Thank you for commenting 💚
@@SaobTtirb Thanks for telling me the story behind it all.
A version of this song was played on American Public Media's excellent "Live From Here" on May 16, 2020. That may constitute a"debut". Thanks for posting!
This made me cry.
🌸 "Promosm"
