I instantly thought that seeing the gameplay but I guess that's not a bad thing, a remade top spin 4 with good online play
Perfect for me, I play top spin 4 still too this day.
For me it's good as i will play on my laptop and i prioritize gameplay over graphics
The animations look like they’ve been updated slightly from topspin 4, which means this has the best animation in a tennis game since the smashcourt and OG topspin games.
Top Spin 4 was great, and nothing has bettered it since it was released some 13 years ago! Really excited for this.
The player art is a deal breaker for me. There is no excuse for the players to look like mannequins in 2024. When I saw Agassi in the game I wasn't sure it was him at first glance. That is a problem.
Huge disappointment in 2K AAA studio and make low budget game
The gameplay still looks great but the models are indeed disappointing. Lmao. I still play Top Spin 4 to this day, and the models of TP4 are much better than the revamped version 😂

The graphics look good to me. I think we are just spoiled with all these games with great graphics. We expect everything to look like real life. I think the graphics could be a little better but it's not a big deal in my opinion. I'm not a big graphics guy, as long as the game is fun I'm good.

I don't know what's wrong with his Agassi pronunciation other than his accent. Iga Świątek is definitely not how you pronounce it though. Also Steff Graffi 😀

The graphics, the gameplay and presentation - it all looks like a 2011 game to me
It looks like they just recycle the graphic engine from the old game and just add some player licences and tennis court.
Looks quite a bit better than 2011. But yeah it’s not impressive graphically. The gameplay looks good but not the models up close. But does that really matter much? I don’t think so.

Graphics and physics are so much better in nba or fifa. You can actually See the form or techniqe of players. In all tennis games all the players have same form. You dont See the iconic nadal banana forehand or differences between different grips and strokes technique.

Tennis games have been lack luster the last 15 years. Lots of ground to make up for sure, granted these are the best stroke animations I’ve seen since the OG topspin series.

I'm all for bringing Top Spin back, but why can't any sports game get animations right? This is a consistent issue in sports games for whatever reason. When I'm watching a guy rip a forehand, I want to see and feel the weight, power and aggressiveness of the shot. When a guy is laying into a serve, I want to feel the speed and velocity of the movement represented. Everything looks so floaty and whimsical. It also still looks like momentum really isn't a thing in relation to movement and the weird like feet setting thing before a ball gets to the player tells me the balance between ball speed a movement isn't there. Watch real tennis, most guys are setting their feet right before they hit the shot. It's part of their mechanics.

Back in TopSpin 4, there were two different types of shots when you hold vs press the button. Holding is for power shot whereas pressing is for positional shot. Wonder if that is the case here.
I've never been a big fan of 2k and their business models, but I will give them some credit for attempting to cover more and more sports, and for allowing a future where EA don't just dominate every sports franchise they wish. With that being said, please 2k do a boxing game. It's been years since EA's Fight Night Champion, and we need a new sim style boxing game. I would even take one that eases off on the real boxer likenesses if it means getting a better game with the budget.
Undisputed is the closest thing we have right now but still in early access and have some weird movements and bugs. The footwork of that game still much better tho.

They should do a Muay Thai game. Idk if you know what one championship is but I’d love if they did that game

@@alexha2884 Yeah I know a fair amount about muay Thai. It would be interesting if they did it. The only problem is I don't think it's as popular as boxing and mma is. I wouldn't want that to hold the game back. Maybe a better idea would be to attach a muay Thai mode to a boxing or mma game (I remember one of the UFC games tried that but it was a bit bare bones).
I've heard rumoursthat 2K could b etaking over the FIFA franchis enow that EA have dropped i tthough EA still have licensing to all the clubs and leagues for the EA Sports FC as it's called now
Great review, thank you. In the Gra v Rad gameplay at the AO, a lot of the shots seemed very shallow and usually, as a player, you want to take advantage of this by replying with power, angle and deeper returns. Also, Steffi’s serve appears to have a technical tennis flaw where she is making contact with the ball wide of her head instead of more above, where she would also derive more power coming over the ball. Still, I have not seen footage of her play lately, so this may just be her technique or style which the game has emulated well. McEnroe’s serve does not represent his technique at all, however. It would have been nice to see Melbourne imprinted behind the baseline at the AO match. I look forward to forward to this and seeing what other players will be included upon its release. I would love to see Lendl, Navratilova, Mandlikova, Cash and Barty included.
You said the key thing , is it gong to be fun to play. Curious what’s in Career mode. I see there’s presentations this time around. Love to see you get into this game.

I got so exited seeing this as I play topspin 4 so much back in the day but having watched some gameplay it looks basically the same as topspin 4. I hope I’m wrong

It looks to be exactly like ts4. Look at the serve. The same starting position as in ts4. I think they used the fundamentals of ts4 and tweaked it

Not too happy with some of the presentation and possible lack of pros but fact that this series is back and judging by gameplay its still very faithful to TopSpin gameplay which is aweosme , cant wait to play . Best tennia series ever easily however this does not look like big leap over TP4
The game looks super dated, like 2015 at most. As long as the gameplay isn’t total a$$ and there’s a decent roster by the time it releases, i’ll be happy

The graphics, etc. are much better, but the players' forms, etc. are still the same as in Top Spin 4. Well, I've been playing for about 8 years now, so I'm looking forward to the new one.
I'm also going to miss Roddick and Becker, who I loved in Topspin 4. They were both dynamic and comfortable to use.
This is on my shopping list, I've been a Tennis game fan since Super Tennis on the SNES.
I cant wait to start this game i was amateur tennis untill i had bad kne injury and i was good as junior win some tournament later on play just recreational it is a great game, one thing there is only one goat and that is Novak Djokovic only one Federer and Nadal are legend but Novak is still better, but i expected to be Federer he is ultra popular even he dont play. When the game can be bought i want it on my PC or PS5

Any thoughts about the crowd? Do they react to long rallies and saves? Sounds a bit clinical in the video, maybe you need to get finals or something.
I think this look good enough. A lot of physics in the clothes but usually you move swiftly during gameplay so I can see the focus they had for it. During walk-ins a bit silly sure.
Yeah crowd was pretty good in certain sections they got loud but I imagine maybe in finals of career mode and stuff it might be louder, will have to wait and see

Animations looks like ts4 some are the exact same, but if it feels like ts4, i‘ll take it
I remember in topspin, you want to load your shot soon after the opponent hits their shot. You’re still able to move around while this is happening. This replicates real life tennis where it’s ideal to prepare your shot by turning your shoulders soon after you recognize where your opponent’s ball is going, all the while your feet are getting you properly positioned for the shot.
The animations, gameplay, and ball/movement physics look quite good to me. This is the most important aspect of a tennis/sports sim IMO. Best I’ve seen since the topspin days, looking forward to trying it out.
Presentation, player models, and lighting could be better. But fingers crossed those will be refined prior to release.

So is it only 3 game sets or can it be regular tennis length. I understand that may take some time, but I think it would be cool.
The only issue and it was the same with TS4 is that there is hardly any unforced errors from the opponent. I dont think i saw them hit the net once

needs to move more, the tennis player waits for the ball to come to him while he is standing still, he needs some footwork, who plays tennis in real life knows that ... in top spin 4 the tennis player was much more lively and the movement was more fluid... we are 2 generations ahead of video games and topspin 4 continues to be the best game so far... although the game seems to be really cool to play ,but for the price they offer, I think it could have done more... I hope that things will improve by launch
but im still gonna buy it cuz I love topspin...

They did make Alcaraz's trademark delay grunt=Good Job🤣🤣
It would be wonderful if you can choose your player(in career mode) to grunt loud or not, delay grunt or on timing grunt.
If they put a create a player and create a stadium like what AO Tennis 2 has, it'll be game, set, match!
The Players in the gameplay videos have level 30, so I guess it's the same system as in TS4 but with more possible variations.
Character faces don’t look good but the animations look good, the atmosphere of the stadium looks good. I’m still excited

Topspin 4 is the best tennis game released, i hope this one builds on top of it
Graphics wise it could be better..but topspin 4 looked really good to begin with even up to now when it comes to tennis games..I hope with the Controls you feel the players weight. And hopefully this is a early demo because as people have pointed out the footwork is unrealistic and makes the gameplay more janky which is a shame because that was one of the better aspects of top spin 4.

If Nadal and Djokovic aren’t included there’s no way i’m buying it. It’s concerning that they aren’t in this version though, makes me think it’s just going to be Federer which is concerning, given Fed is retired already. They need more top players like Sinner, Med, Rublev etc too

I am excited for this but the graphics should’ve been much more improved for its last installment. I still occasionally play topspin 4 on my PS3 and the character models look really good. Sweat physics and all.

I noticed it said level 30 on some players i guess that suggests it will be quite a similar bulid system to ts4 one thing i hope isn't in the game is the random difficulty increase when you got to a grand slam semi i want the challenge to be consistent
Needs to be faster especially on harder settings, maybe that can be adjusted? More depth on shots near baseline? Still possessed looking players too.

I’ve got FC24 and NBA2k24, football is by far my favourite sport but I bet I’ve played 20 times more hoops than football. Just because they can be arsed with a career mode. I hope the graphics get a polish, but hey it’s not out yet. As a first look, I’m excited 🎾

I've never played any tennis game b4 but I have watched videos on YT ever since the announcement of TS2k25 and I must say.... This game looks 🔥🔥🔥 The gameplay is just as smooth, if not SMOOTHER than TS4. TS4 had a FEW hiccups with transitioning from one animation to another but from what I'm seeing with TS25 is a big step in the right direction. I agree with the body types and some face scans etc being mediocre n the little glitchy/twitchy thing with the clothes but hey.... At least we're getting a new sports game real soon lol. The majority of you guys have been waiting A LOT longer than I have.

There is career mode and create you rown player just as with most sports games if you're talkin gabout single player. But as fo rcompletel yoffline I don' tthink an ygam eis truly offline anymore
