Research curly girl method! Never brush dry hair, only when you have conditioner in it in the bath. On days you don't wash it, mix conditioner in a bottle of water and spray his hair really wet and scrunch it. His hair needs tons of moisture.
How adorable is he! Omg he keeps touching his hair cuz he knows mommy talking about it 😄 what a beautiful mixed baby..p.s. you can buy a leave in conditioner made just for that purpose. Also add a bit extra virgin oil or coconut on top of the conditioner once his hair is about 80 percent dry..this helps seal the moisture from the conditioner sealed in and it won't rub off as he plays or sleeps
I'm also filipino and my husband is also African and I've been struggling with our son's hair. Thanks for sharing your hair routine! How often do you wash his hair?
What an adorable little boy! My girls both have extremely curly hair... both myself and my husband have curly hair, so we sorta' saw it coming! It's not easy to manage but it is beautiful!
I have curly hair and leave conditioner in is actually bad long term. It can cause build up and other problems instead u should find a leave in conditioner for curly hair and put it in when wet. The kids brand for shea moisture is great or Cantu. There are dry products as well. That is more for when he is older and trying to do his own hair
Thank you so so much for this video omg it’s amazing... it will help my wife style like me doing my mixed son’s hair... I have been trying find the perfect hair caring style that I follow and he loves with me for her to match... my son is white and Nigerian n she thinks he has white boy hair lol... she will now see his hair is just like your sons
My son’s birthday is also on May 30th and he turns two this year 💕 And i also finger comb my baby’s curly hair while in the bath. He is really tender headed and hates when anyone tries combing his hair so detangling his hair while he’s distracted in the tub is a must.
My son's hair is curly sorta like that but it's not that thick lol what I do is I switched to Dr. Bronners soap which I feel like has been holding his curls more just because it does contain coconut oil. Literally for 3 days his curls stayed really nice but also I use the cantu brand coconut cream moisturizer and then I lock that with coconut oil. You usually have to lock the product with some type of oil. I also suggest only brushing when the hair is wet only.
You should definitely try some leave in conditioner, it will moisturise the curls and if you add in a refresh spray or a light cream the next morning his hair will have more definition.
My son has hair JUST LIKE YOURS! We have a similar routine and also have found a bit of water and conditioner in a spray bottle works great for wetting and combing through dry hair on non-wash days! That is has worked well for us and also as re-fresh on post nap hair that gets dry and sometimes straightens out, not sure if this happens to you guys after car seat time or naps!
Yes, it totally does for my boy after his nap... It is always one area that gets dry, tangles up, gets straight. I'm glad to hear he is not the only one. What kind of conditioner do you use to mix in the water bottle?

I always switch of when they describe curly hair as a problem in the first statements 😢 but I'm glad she's learning and educating herself .
my son is 2 years old and mixed. i think i am going to do gel though. i like that texture more. I will definitely try to wash out his hair less.
