Don Julio Anejo is at least drinkable. One problem with being a Tequila lover is that it is nearly impossible to get a good tequila at a restaurant, to sip on after a good dinner. But when I am craving a sipper after dinner many restaurants have Don Julio Anejo, which is at least drinkable although I’d rather have any of your picks. I did find a local restaurant where the head bartender is a fellow Tequila connoisseur and he stocks a big selection of all our favorite additive free Tequilas, but it’s like a 100 dollar per person restaurant, not one I can afford to visit very often. 😂
Don Julio was my introduction to tequila. Not knowing what I was looking for, it tastes primarily of peanuts to me. It wasn't my favorite, but it was passable to my taste. Jose was my next try and it felt like it was lacking something. I'm definitely going to see if I can find one of these on my next visit to the liquor store.
The biggest problem is ordering from a restaurant. You either have to find the bar and climb in the back and see what they have or you are stuck ordering from a waiter who knows nothing more than house/well tequila or Don Julio/Patron. If you start asking for anything fancy you get the deer in the headlights stare.

Three minutes to pick up a bottle of Lalo from the local Walmart for $40. Can’t be that. I believe it’s a top 5 Blanco. Blind taste test it next to El Tesoro, Ocho, Fortaleza, El Tequilano, G4, Volans, etc. and I guarantee it does better than some of them.

Blanco Tequila is actually the most honest expression of tequila and what the master distiller intended it to taste like. Drink 7 Leguas instead. Forgot to say it´s more expensive
"Minerality"
What do you mean don't drink DJ? It's one of the best tequilas. It's a classic. It's like Jack but better.
Try other tequilas. I swear I like cimarron more and it’s half the price
How can you compare a reposando with a blanco tequila... you don't know what you are taking about
lol okay.
Unfortunately that happens don julio sold the company now is not the same I rather have his grand sons tequila LALO 👍
If you think don julio taste sweeet than holy crap I don’t want your taste buds lol 😆 I feel lik when it comes to a popular well known brand you just don’t prefer them n instead you go for the quiet brands..blanco tequila really isn’t a sipper anyways
"Blanco Tequila isn't really a sipper anyways" tells me everything you think. Lol ...
Blanco Tequila is actually the most honest expression of tequila and what the master distiller intended it to taste like. If you think a spirit that takes 6-7 years to make shouldn't taste good to sip because you think it needs to be aged to enjoy? Then the marketing dollars have worked wonders on you.
@@Lui_Fern bro just say you like blancos.. if the spirit is good quality and aged properly they taste better. No way around that. Only people getting shammed are those drinking mixtos and cristalinos.
@@iCEBERG711 that's just not true man. Aging something doesn't always make it taste better. Its not a magic process lol
@@Lui_Fern well fun fact I work for diageo as one of their account reps and if u take a poll guess what majority of ppl prefer to sip ? a repo or anejo..the ppl I see sip a blanco are customers that say they don’t want to spend the extra few bucks 😉
@@ChristopherWB good thing I'm not polling the general publics opinion literally anything. 👍
So, a little biology: humans are broadly split into sweet and dry pallettes (theres a smaller number of people with both). It is your pallette that determines what you find smooth and what causes a burn.
I've noticed a lot of your videos, you denigrate the sweeter tequilas and even comment on how their fans enjoy the smoothness of them.
Whilst i appreciate the information on additive free and alternative options, this is starting to feel a bit... gatekeepy?
Lol. Okay. So don't watch.
JK - Gonna try that siete at least.
😂😂😂
I bet he drinks Jose Cuervo under the table! 🤣😂
Now were just making shit up to be different
Why are you pouring so much just to taste it? Lol
I just taste pickle
It has no taste but taste too sweet 💀
Its a Blanco. You are expecting the flavors of the añejo in a Blanco? You are not credible
How am I expecting the flavors of an añejo in a Blanco? Do you know what a well made Blanco is supposed to taste like?
Exactly…. All non-aged liquor lack in flavor. Then suggesting they use additives when we have no way to prove it is just bad practice.
Kirkland reposado for 17 bucks
STOP telling me what to do. lol
I gave up on Don Julio a couple of years ago because Diajo has ruined this brand. Then again I normally only Anejo Tequila.
It should be illegal for Mexican brands to sell out. Mexico can be so much if it protected it’s tequilas n houses.
This guy always over fills his Glencairn.
What are you? A cop?
Who TF drinks Don Julio blanco??? Get your bag up and get the DJ 70 man
Lol the 70 is just a scam. It's more expensive but it's equally crap lol.
@@Lui_Fern lol why does the DJ 70 from Mexico taste much better than the American one?
@@luissosa9475 so from what I know tequila in Mexico is proofed lower than in the u.s. I believe most tequila in Mexico can be proofed at 35% whereas in the u.s it has to be 40% due to laws. So that's one major factor.
Just quit drinking lol
