Excellent video! Love how you stress the importance of individuality and never assuming an animal will always tolerate handling just because they have before.
The only ones I handle are my versi and amazon sapphire slings... If my curly want than her too. Other then that I tread them like fish... Look but no touching... Awesome video though
great video, u/sandlungs from the r/tarantulas subreddit here! really appreciated this angle and approach to such a hard to discuss topic. my only constructive criticism would be in how we overstate tarantula and their ability (or as stated, lackthereof) to learn. as an animal trainer that uses applied behaviour analysis and evidence-based practises, it is hard for me to say "tarantula cannot learn to xyz" or the alternative "tarantulas gain nothing from xyz" because the more that we are faced with the realities of animal learning individualism/circumstance the more this statement is everlastingly challenged. so instead of pushing on the subject of handling, i rather like to present real studies that support the notion that tarantula are capable of learning. such as the scientific finding i shared over on the subreddit seen here: www.reddit.com/r/tarantulas/comments/kl8qh5/can_your_pet_tarantula_learn_the_answer_is_100/ just wanted to add some (what i believe as) valuable contribution to the topic at hand. lovely content, lovely specimens. look forward to seeing more. subbed as well!
i pretty much fall under the category you mentioned in your video identifying with; i generally don't advocate handling or handle much myself; but when we start talking about animal learning and animal benefit as the focal point in that discussion as so many often do, the topic gets a biiiiit muddy! thanks again for the engagement! i found a new youtuber to watch! =o)

Thank you. It’s important to know that these creatures are unpredictable and individuals with their own agendas.
Great Video, keep them coming!!
Thank you and will do ☺️
Awesome video as always!
Thank you so much 😊.

Thank you, and yeah, they are much more of an observational pet. I am sure your tarantulas thank you for not unnecessarily holding them.
