I wish you still did these restorations . For years I've been looking for someone who would undertake a basic service on my old Philips N2506, but can't find anyone. Can't really do it with my one hand. Best wishes
Recently purchased an "Sharp RT-1155" Cassette deck...same problem i think with others with the Sticky (GOO) rubber wheel on the Capston?, also Blew a Power Supply capacitor! (loads of Smoke!!), Don't think it's had much use since new (that might be a reason for it's demise) but is totally as new cosmetically (must have been stored away somewhere for decades). I will try and take it apart to fix?.
Sorry, I have a philips d8623 / d8614. Could you tell me where I can get the deck controller board ... I mean the one that drives the three deck motors.
My Red Leicester cheese gears are completely destroyed. I can not rebuild them with my 3D printer because I do not know the characteristics of these gears (diameter, number of teeth, thickness). Do you have a link for this website or more information for me ? Thanks
I've learned to avoid any Philips or Magnavox products with these mechanisms at any cost.... especially after my awful, awful experiences with a radio/cassette "Freetimer" boombox and a crappy cassette recorder :(
That is a complex beast ...........

River can't repair anymore because he passed away.
I've been meaning to comment for a while now after all these years, that your content is why I got into stereo gear about a while ago : )
