that wild and reckless trope is still very popular with women, thats why there are so many women in their 30s single, with kids and no child support. then they join men hating facebook groups to demonize all men, when in reality they chose to be with the wrong men.
Brad Pitt's character steals every scene he's in, in this film. Whether for better or worse, this was the movie that catapulted him to a superstar, IMO.
He did "Kalifornia" a year earlier. Then this and then "An interview with an vampire" starring alongside T Cruise is what put him on the map. He had a small role in "Thelma and Louise" in 1992.
One of the most beautifully, tragically romantic scenes of all time. When you think you know what love is, then you meet Brad Pitt/Tristan Ludlow, and in a moment you realize you know nothing.
Man, this movie has such a nostalgic, sweet, romantic but also realistically painful and dramatic feel to it. The atmosphere with the breathtaking landscapes, the wholesome relationship of the brothers, and the gorgeous soundtrack are all so beautiful and charming. But then the tragedy of war, death, grief, envy, unrequited love, infertility, regret... So painful. This movie gives me such a bittersweet feeling, it will never not move me emotionally every time I watch it. One of my favorites
American Patriot perhaps. But it ended up badly fir all involved. When she saw brad Pitt and knew it was he she had feelings for, she should have left all of them and spared them all a lot of misery.

and he was 36 in Fight Club and 41 in Troy. I'm not gay or bisexual, but Brad Pitt has a good looking face, something that the gym won't get you, you either got one or ya don't. But working out will definitely make you more attractive and perhaps tone up your face a little but won't change the appearance by a major stretch at all.
Interesting comment. I think she had a more motherly love for Samuel, being a bit of a teacher to him. With Tristan it was a more sexual, yin and yang love, balancing each other out and being both teachers to each other. Not to fall into clichés but her trying to tame his wild side a bit and him giving her the freedom to explore her sexuality and passion, just her overall self-identity as his equal. The only reason it didn't work out is because Tristan's wound of losing his baby brother was too fresh, which made him too unstable to commit to a balanced, grounded relationship that had all the potential, but not the right timing. Marrying Alfred she sort of retreated to the more passive role of a woman back in those days and all her self-discovery work and growth, perhaps painful but necessary, was undone, ending up in that other cliché, the gilded cage, Alfred regaining control of her self-identity, her living by his fancy rules in his big fancy empty house. The fact that they didn't have children only made the void that much worse. Not only had he taken her sense of self away again, he also couldn't help her fulfil the role of a mother. Which was sort of her last chance at giving some sense to her life and at some happiness. When she saw Tristan with his own family and met little Samuel I guess in her mind everything came full circle. The love she had always wanted to give was wasted and she must have felt like a failure, pushing her to that desperate final act.
Impressive acting by all. The rebellious Tristan, dutiful Alfred, naive Samuel, prophetic Isabella, and sad Susannah make this all-round unrequited love story one to watch and rewatch.
I think it’s not only looks that make Tristan so desirable. It’s his way of life. Like he has that “I don’t care what other people think of me” going on. He is wild and untamed and that what appeals. Just like with James Dean in “Rebel without a cause” and others. We can’t help falling in love with him as a person as well not only his looks even if that and the rest was a hit ofc.

Alfred is a genuinely good man with a stable head on his shoulders. It's a pity that his own family don't seem to value those qualities much, aside from his mother.
Aiden was the brother every woman should want, for logical reasons. Tristan is the brother every woman actually wants for reasons just as logical. These two men were like night and day. My heart and mind would go to battle over this one, but damn if my heart didn't win every time.
That's his brother. If he had a child with his wife then would the child never meet his uncle? It doesn't work like that in the real world lol. Attractive people have a life too.. It's about trust and being committed to a relationship.
I can tell you there is nothing more frustrating for a girl to go to your home and meet your family only to discover your brother is so much hotter and cooler than you are. If that man had any brains he would have said he’s an orphan and grew up in the forest with a family of chipmunks and called it a day.

Beautiful movie.. One of a kind And my god I was so in love with Bread Pitt - my stomach flipped and heart skipped in every scene he was in He was so beautiful 😍
This was my favorite move in college. I first saw it when I was 22 and thought Tristan was the ultimate perfect man. I watched it 5-6 years later when I was engaged to a wonderful man. (now my husband of 20 years) When I saw it again, I was shocked at how unappealing Tristan was to me. I thought Alfred was the perfect man. Tristan was just a Peter Pan, party boy, player who would make even the best woman miserable and bitter over time. Funny how maturity changes you. And before anyone says that's because I'd "hit the wall" and was looking for a beta provider (any of that manosphere jargon) that is not the case here. This is fantasyland. There is no wall in fantasyland. In my 22 year old fantasyland, if all 3 brothers wanted me, I would have taken Tristan without hesitation. In my 28 year old fantasy, even if Tristan wanted me, I would have wanted Alfred and seen Tristan for the trouble that he was. This movie is a good litmus test for women to know if they have their head on straight. If you don't see Tristan for the future heartbreak that he is, you are going to have a hard time finding a good man in real life. Still I love this movie so much. Sadly, not at any time was Samuel appealing. Poor Samuel, lol.
@@ronniebishop2496 Yes but that came YEARS later. That was the mature Tristan. Sure then he became husband material in a sense........though still not near the good man Alfred was. However, Tristan's antics (bootlegging) ended up getting his wife killed and left his two kids without a mother. And he had a bounty on him so the movie ends with Tristan having to leave his two children for the responsible brother, Alfred to raise. Those kids would grow up without a mother or a father. So Tristan improved over the years but still, as the narrator tells us, "It was those who loved him most who died young." Tristan still was too self absorbed to be the man that Alfred was. But Susanna wasn't in love with the later, more mature Tristan. She loved the wild man. So that's what I'm saying to women. Watch that movie, and if you think a man like Tristan could bring you happiness and a man like Alfred is boring, your head isn't on straight. You have maturing to do. Because in real life, the Tristans of the world leave you heartbroken. And women overlook the Alfreds and don't see them for the good men that they are. As the movie showed us.
Summerafternoon I also thought it was interesting when Alfred was telling Tristan, “ I always tried to do what was right and responsible, you were never doing anything right, yet they loved you more, even my own wife.” For some reason you could line up ten men and some women will pick the thug or criminal every time! You’re right.
@@zsuzsuspetals Thank you for your wonderful analysis...I think you are correct...But one requires a very strong mind to overrule the heart...To be honest most of us aren't able to do that...be it either women or men.
Tristan was the man you love from a distance, he was wild like the bear. However, he had a lot of trauma and didn’t know what else to do but run. He had a big heart and good intentions. He settled down when he was more healed and mature and the bear inside was asleep. But again, more hardship arouse- He was beautiful for exactly who he was just as Alfred was.
“ so this is Tristan “ .....takes a deep breath while in her mind she’s thinking “ DAYYUUM 🤤🤤😍😍🥰🥰😈😈” , followed by “ did I ever pick the wrong brother “.

Alfred is a genuinely good man with a stable head on his shoulders. It's a pity that his own family don't seem to value those qualities much, aside from his mother.
My God he was breathtaking wasn't he?
Most beautifull movie ever made
The most depressing movie of all time.
+Kyle Brogmus So corny too ...
Scahoni lmao true lol
Kyle Brogmus The Green Mile is the most depressing movie of all time but this is one of the most depressing movies of all time .
Kyle Brogmus brokeback mountain and boys don't cry were depressing
Yeah, it's bittersweet to watch the first few scenes of this lovely family when you know they get fucked so bad later.
This is my favourite Brad Pitt❤️ He's not just a man, he's a concept.
My favourite film.....watched this so many times and Brad has never looked better x
Every time I watch this clip I want to say "RUN"! I have been watching "legends of the fall" since it was released in our country in 1995. ❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭😭
ahhhh beautifull Tristan.
Que belleza,de hombre.En esta pelicula,tiene una belleza,salvaje.BRAD PITT.
Brad Pitt is unbelievably beautiful
Loved this movie and Brad Pitt. He was so hsndsome in his younger days.
Underrated film.
Brad was gorgeous alright but my eyes are on Aiden. There's something about him, im drawn i dont know why
Aidan a beaut , those eyes 👀😍
Aiden was the brother every woman should want, for logical reasons. Tristan is the brother every woman actually wants for reasons just as logical. These two men were like night and day. My heart and mind would go to battle over this one, but damn if my heart didn't win every time.
My favorite Brad Pitt/ Anthony Hopkins movie.
If you haven't seen it,you should.
meet joe black is better imo
Why would you introduce your wife/gf to freaking Brad Pitt? That’s like you becoming a pimp
Haha
That's his brother. If he had a child with his wife then would the child never meet his uncle? It doesn't work like that in the real world lol. Attractive people have a life too..
It's about trust and being committed to a relationship.
Soooo funny
Tristan stood out not only for his good looks because he was like no man she ever met.
Brad Pitt at his most handsome. Wish time could stand still
Not quite. He looked better in Troy.
I can tell you there is nothing more frustrating for a girl to go to your home and meet your family only to discover your brother is so much hotter and cooler than you are. If that man had any brains he would have said he’s an orphan and grew up in the forest with a family of chipmunks and called it a day.
It's called buyer's remorse.
😂
I love it when the brothers were whole and not divided. Even Alfred was more relaxed and playful.
Hello, i have a doubt, what's Brad Pitt tells to one stab? And he looks to susanah..
pablo foschi I always wondered what he said. I have no idea.
@@Afroricanz84 thanks for your answer, and other scene, when Tristán is travel on his Journey he is Taken by tree mens and i don't understend what they doing to he.
pablo foschi are you talking about the scene where they are holding him down? I think he was having a nervous breakdown
She holds her breath when she sees him. This was the time they were all happy...
Bras tipping his hat with the water coming off is such an iconic scene
My mother named me after this film since she had a fan crush on brad Pitt around the time this came out before I was born
"Still hungover?"
"Still drunk." 🤣🤣
One of my favorite films of all time. Beautiful movie and soundtrack
This is probably the best acting performance Pitt has done in his entire career. LOTF is his best film in my opinion. Plus, I'm not ashamed to say that he looked real handsome in this flick too.
my favorite pitt performance is Killing Them Softly
A River Runs Through It
Seven with Morgan Freeman.
Squeaky Cheese Man I love that movie! I think that is my most watched movie ever. Even after the 10th time seeing it, I noticed things I hadn’t before. Crazy, crazy movie.
Every Brad movie is Genius!
Legends of the Fall my favorite. Meet Joe Black 2nd. Troy 3rd.
The sexiest man alive! Ever!
You talking to me ?
He was
Beautiful movie.. One of a kind
And my god I was so in love with Bread Pitt - my stomach flipped and heart skipped in every scene he was in
He was so beautiful 😍
I love this movie! Brad is wonderful!
One of my favourite. Watched so far four times. Last time started crying when Tristan found his brother
till the end to the movie.
1:20 how I think every woman sees me when they first meet me....
oopopp x hahahaha I know that feeling. You're not alone.
😭😭😭
@Darby YEAH
@Darby 😂😂😂
I named my son Tristan because of this movie ❤😍😘💕
I’ve always wanted to name my future son Tristan but my husband doesn’t like the name. I am crushed because I absolutely love it.
Steph Hayward so did I ; )
I hope your son turned out looking like brad Pitt lol
May the Lord bless you
No joke
This movie never gets old brad is so hot and still is to this day 💜
I would melt if he stared at me like that😍
¿Why!?
James Quinn you obviously don’t know figure of speech when u see it
Stunning film and soundtrack
AMAZING scene!!
But wasn’t Tristan settled down hard with the young Indian girl, he had two kids with? I think so.
“ so this is Tristan “ .....takes a deep breath while in her mind she’s thinking “ DAYYUUM 🤤🤤😍😍🥰🥰😈😈” , followed by
“ did I ever pick the wrong brother “.
Lol ...made me chuckle and I agree 💯
My favorite movie and only one that can make me emotional. Takes me back as far as middle school
I mean, what woman wouldn’t fall for Tristan after an entrance like that?
Side note, if my brother was staring at my fiancé that way I would pull him up lol. Who tf does that
