    It doesn't heat seek. It follows the laser. You need to paint the target with the laser

      its very forgiving cause u can just spam all 4 rockets out and you know theyre all gonna hit as long as ur laser is on target

    If you're not an old, you might not know that the Commando weapon is a direct reference to the classic Schwarzenegger film of the same name where he uses it to great effect 😁

    fun fact about the swimming comment, in WW2 lots of men drowned under the weight of their gear when forced into the water. Even just a couple kilos of extra gear can sink you pretty fast, even if you're a strong swimmer, and helldivers would be wearing and carrying about 10-20kgs in medium armour + weapons

    A good advice that I recently found out: the grenade pistol can destroy Rogue Research Stations if you hit the generator on top
    You should give it a try next time

    The weapons are definitely getting better. Thanks for testing it out, legend. That gunship factory got a bit hairy, I might stick to my SCORCHER-AMR combo. Tried out the commando, but for the high value asset extraction mission, I see people pair it with the EAT quite effectively.

    My buddy who mains EAT in our squadron for anti-air/anti-armor saw the commando and quite literally squealed

    I love the Commando. While it doesn't pack as much of a punch as the EAT, the fact that you get four rockets and its utility make up for it. I want to test it on Bugs, but it is definitely worth it for Bots. The fact that it can take out Fabricators is nuts. Especially since the most I have ever seen is four per base to it can definitely be used to kill bases at range with clear Line of sight.

      They probably used the missile from the Spear so it retained some of its benefits, I’ve seen command bunkers get one shot with it as well just like the Spear used to.

      the commando actually has more overall damage than the EAT, commado is 4x 450 damage misslies (just under the 500 needed for charger onshot sadly) while eats are 650, this does mean that the commando should theoretically 2 shot bile titan heads

    Best part about the Commando is the ability to hit fabricators from almost any angle. Only change I would give it is faster guidance activation. It goes pretty far before locking onto the laser.

    The Commando has my seal of approval. From what I've heard, it does less damage than the EAT, but has more armor penetration. It made quick work of Hulks and Tanks when I tried it out, so I'm optimistic to put it to work against the bugs. For a while, I've been struggling to find an ideal stratagem loadout for the Terminid front, because more often than not, I get harassed by Chargers that I can't deal with on top of the rest. Maybe the Commando will prove to be the missing piece to my puzzle? Only one way to find out!

    30:45 Fun fact: Orbital precision strikes can take out those quite easily. You don't have to aim too hard either, just toss the beacon right in the corner a few pixels away from the building or on the rooftop if you want a direct impact

    landing shots first-person definitely does not feel as forgiving as third-person, agreed. Feels like something's goin' on, and we all know AH has been pretty bad about sneaking changes in without documentation... Or "unintentionally" changing mechanics...
    also if I threw that barrage both of those turrets would have immediately started turning to my position and started firing at me, even behind cover...

      I've had bad times with third person aim still, like crossbow shots aimed straight at a bot from 20 meters somehow exploding behind it.

      There's a "tip" on the hellpod loading screens which suggests shooting first-person is more accurate than 3rd person

      first person with smg and ballistic shield is broken now so I wouldnt be surprised. bullets shoot like a foot to the right of the laser.

      ​@@Vnx For small infantry bots, they have tiny skeletonized hitboxes. You can basically shoot right through the armpit or any gap you can see. It's extremely annoying.

    One of the great things about the Commando is that you don't have to bring the AC/AMR/LC/HMG if you want a heavy weapon that deals with Gunships anymore - you can bring the Commando and the Stalwart, MG-43 or the Railgun even c:

    To be that guy, a heat sink sheds heat, it's a radiator essentially.
    Heat seek is the ability for a weapon to target heat sources.
    Heat seeking missiles will target heat sinks.
    The Commando doesn't heat seek, it's laser guided. It's missiles will maneuver to try to hit whatever you have the laser on.
    The missile doesn't knows where it is at all times. It doesn't know this because it doesn't know where it isn't. It cannot subtract where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), to obtain a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem cannot use deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't almost by chance, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
    In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the Guidance Logic System, but it won't be because this missile can't do that. However, the missile must also know where it was, but it doesn't.
    The missile guidance computer scenario doesn't work as follows. Because a variation has not modified any of the information the missile has not obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it isn't sure where it isn't, at all, and it doesn't know where it was. It now doesn't subtract where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is unable to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
    Being so constrained, by it's lack of a Guidance Logic System the missile just follows the pretty light.

    30:37 you can destroy those specific lab building shooting the generator on the roof with your grenade pistol (when the generator is available, this is random)

      Usually, yeah. You can use that to your advantage on Eradicate missions. Drop a 380 if you’re getting surrounded and you’re (relatively) safe from the explosions.

    Agreed on the Scorcher, but the Punisher Plasma is honestly a close 2nd. I haven't tried it on gunships, but with the stagger on it, and the explosion radius, it works so well on everything else, including being able to stagger all of the different devastators so they can't even fire on you, even when you hit the shield in the front, and takes out the striders in 2 hits.

      If you stand completely still, shoot the last rocket, and do nothing, it will eventually drop like an EAT. It's some jank having to do with the laser guiding. Imagine you shoot your last rocket with laser guiding on, at a target really far away. If the launcher dropped as soon as it was empty, you wouldn't be able to finish guiding the rocket. What's happening is that some action you are taking (maybe sprinting, going out of ADS, or weapon swapping) is canceling the laser guiding before the game tells the launcher that its laser guiding job is done, and can be disposed of. If you pull the empty rocket back out, and try to shoot it again, the game will wake up and it'll get dropped.

    Hey Takibo.
    Don’t know if you tried Eruptor against the automatons but I’ve tried it yesterday and was genuinely surprised. Oneshots striders, two-shots devastators and berserkers, takes down fabricators and can clear a lot of trash in one shot. I paired it with senator in order not to waste shots for single small targets and it worked out really well. Once you get used to hiding behind covers between the shots you can become an absolute menace.
    I used a supply backpack since the amount of mags is not that big and took a HMG because it benefits from this backpack too and allows to deal with hulks and factory striders quickly, but I feel like it could work with something else also. Weapon-handling armor is required.

    ok question for anyone, im super confused. i can only solo level 5 and thats not easy for me but i notice that when i try to run or hide/stealth i always get found. does level 9 have less smaller enemies so its easier to stealth? i call extract and sit behind a tree with no line of sight and like 2-3 patrols walk straight towards me and i have nowhere to go so i have to fight. super confused about this

    Quick tip, if you have a rouge station and it had a big box generator on top of it next to the satellite dish you can blow it up and destroy the station with 1 grenade pistol shot.

    Hello! I need some help. I prefer bots over bugs, but I still have a love-hate relationship with them.
    On the one hand, they are pretty easy to kill with easy weakpoints, and the autocannon shreds them.
    On the other hand, they're extremely oppressive, and I'm constantly ragdolled by the missiles.
    Any tips?

    Try solving the "Missile Silo puzzle" backwards, that is from right to left, instead of left to right. It's like solving a maze, it is way easier starting from the goal, because you can see which path leads out.

    You can kill 4 tiny bases, 2 to 4 depending if it's the fab&turret base or 2x fab base and 1 big base +1 tiny or 1 medium fab&turret base, THIS NEW COMMANDO IS ACTUALY INSANE WTF this is my new fav weapon tbh because it is soo powerful, it just murders the blitz : destroy fabricators mission, as you can long range them SOOO HARD

    I wish more games would accurately model the true purpose of this weapon because it's pretty cool. It's not really a rocket launcher but a rocket flame thrower as it's meant to replace standard backpack flamethrowers. Each rocket has 610 grams of TPA (Thickened Pyrophoric Agent) that spreads out and ignites after impact and burns at 1,600 Celsius (average Napalm burn temp is 800-1200 Celsius). I feel like this would work well as a longer ranged alternative to the flamethrower.

    9:55 when tanks explode, they are on fire for awhile. after the tank is no longer hot/on fire, you can climb over it. It's like 10 seconds or so for the dead tank to cool down

    You can use the orbital precision strike to take down rogue research stations! Walking up and ADS'ing with the stratagem in hand to really stick it close to the building gets the job done.

    Its pretty awesome yet balanced. You get more ammo with similar break points but more demolition damage than EATs but cant call in as often. It doesn't actually lock on like the spear and can't be reloaded with ammo but has much faster fire rate and call in time. Great balance 👍

    I hope in the future Helldivers can do a secret collab with Metal Slug series.
    It's just a voice pack for players, when a player pick up a weapon, the diver shout the name of said weapon.
    "Heavy Machine Gun" "Rocket Launcher" in the most classic Metal Slug way.

    I played with a fellow diver last night who said the commando is laser guided. Fast moving but will follow the laser as long as you can keep it on target. If that was true it should be an amazing long range weapon.

    Overall its a good stratagem, you can take two gunships (2 rockets per engine). The thing i cant figure out is if it can 4 shot the stryder to the head

      Gunships are 1 rocket per engine. Dropships are 2 rockets. Shooting gunship engines with rockets is not easy, especially on this terrible Jungle map, so if it takes 2 shots for one, you missed the first one.

    I am in love with the Commando, I think it is slightly better than the EAT, but the Devs did a good job of making it so the EAT still has uses and it comes down to whether you prefer more power or more shots. Was using the Commando during a defense mission that had two tanks spawn at once, and being able to take them both out in about 10 seconds just feels so good.
    Would love to see a video showcasing the Punisher Plasma against bots, I don't think it's better than the scorcher, but it's ability to stun lock multiple devastators and striders makes for a really fun and easy to use playstyle.

    You know what’d be crazy? We know how on some of the planets we get debuffs like increased stratagem cooldown and whatnot. What if as the enemies get closer to super earth we get BUFFS on certain planets instead of debuffs, and the quantity of enemies spike to crazier numbers. The challenge of having faster call-in times and more enemies would be crazy fun and being able to call in the commando at EAT times as hordes of bots and gunships swoop in would be epic.

    It wasn't available since the start of the MO, it was added Sunday morning.
    And it doesn't have seeking abilities, it's laser guided, you can change its path by moving your laser aim.

    For bile titans it takes 2 commandos to the head (450 damage vs 750 hp). It's also the same for both types of charger. But you fire fast and it has the laser guiding, so should be pretty decent. You'll have spare shots if you miss, but if you miss then the efficiency will suffer vs the EAT.

    Didn’t get to try this new weapon out, sadly. But it looks very solid! I just hope it stays this way on release.
    Side note, I totally agree that Scorcher can’t be dethroned when it comes to anti-bot weapons. I recently unlocked the Dominator after everyone talked about how amazing it is and… I dunno, it just doesn’t feel the same. A lot more sluggish with the aiming and, while definitely great against Devastators, doesn’t take Striders down as well as the Scorcher. I might just switch back on my next play through.

    A tip for X-45 on bots: All barrages and the strafing run are quite effective! :)
    Also, ballistic shield (assuming it works properly..) is great, especially in close quarters. As you might expect..

    If you dump all 4 shots onto a tank it even kills it through it's front armor. I like that thing a lot xD

    Aiming for the scout strider leg joints is hard. When I previously commented about the mount below the shield it implied using the scorcher, not the slugger. The shield is heavy armour, the mount below the shield is medium so it takes less shots. If you are playing solo this might not be that big of a difference, however as you mentioned previously in one of your videos - ammo management is harder in a group setting and let’s face it, the scorcher doesn’t have the largest ammo pool. Is it mandatory to shoot the mount - absolutely not, is it beneficial - yes.
    BTW tested the commando and what I found particularly useful is destroying the nests. Especially the large ones. You may not have the right angle to shoot straight, but with the rocket being guided you actually can pivot it at a right time to destroy the nest even at an almost 90 degree angle.
    Lastly, just an FYI: the laser guidance kicks in after the rocket travels 30 meters. So if your target is closer than that, you can use it as “fire and forget” (as well as if you simply stop aiming).

    The commando is the outpost eraser. One shots fabricators no matter where you hit them. One shots hulks to the head. My only goop is that it doesn't penetrate Shield devastator armor.

    If you tactical reload the HMG with the 10% support weapon reload speed, it looks hilarious. I would prioritize that one and the Eagle reload (for non-swamp planets when you bring two Eagle stratagems).

    You should try out the Diligence Counter Sniper, it can one shot devastators to the face if u can aim.

    The Orbital Precision Strike will take out the rouge science Station in one hit. On this map it may hit a tree.

    The Commando can take out a gunship's engine in 1 hit. You gotta get use to the laser guidance but that alone it feels better than the EAT in the bot side

    The real-world rocket launcher the commando is based off of is actually an incendiary rocket launcher. Kind of seems like missed potential but it's probably better as it is

    Could you try using Smoke against Bots? I've heard it's really good to use as a disengagement tool, because it acts essentially as a wall in Enemy Pathfinding, but i struggle trying to use it

    It’s basically a weaker laser guided Spear, that handling perk is gonna be strong with this one.
    I wanna see it tested against bunkers cuz I’ve seen it one shot them before, the Spear used to one shot them when u could target them.
    Btw it’s impossible to swim with armor or gear even for the best of the best.

    Commando has NOT been available for the whole MO, there was an update a day or so ago which added it. Also I know others have already mentioned it is laser guided, but you can also turn the laser off in the gun menu (hold r) if you want dumbfire.

    I really think it needs a backpack I think it would be a lot more fun to use as a primary support weapon than as an expendable weapon.

    Well, the swimming thing, if you think about it, you have a lot of armor on you that have some KGs on you, all the grenades, magazines, weapons and support weapons.
    Imaging swimming in full knight armor. (+ a long sword)
    EDIT: not to mention those balls made of steel that weight you down, fighting literally armies solo ^w^,.

    100% sure that there is some kind of bug with the small bots and their hitboxes. I can pick off groups of them pretty easy with most weapons but something like the plasma scorcher either seems to go straight through their torsos or sometimes it'll hit but not kill them in 1 shot.
    Someone said sometimes the impact doesn't apply and only the explosion hits.

    ThiccFilA is estimating its 400 dmg per rocket. So, 3 bile titan headshots. 2 for charger leg (because of damage drop off).
