He smiled at the end. Held out the mic....and .....let it drop from his hand all the way to the floor. And left...just as happy as when he started. If the crowd wanted entertainment..he could hold them in the palm of his hand.
John Deacon of Queen probably knows more about Freddie Mercury (the person - not the persona) than anyone else in the group and has respectfully not spoken publicly about him or tried to capitalize on his memory. I think truth and facts about Freddie can be found with him.
Everytime I listen to this song it gives me chills knowing that this was one of Freddie Mercury's last songs so powerful even though he was slowly dying.
All Freddie needed was a couple shots of vodka -- and then he proceeded to nail "The Show Must Go On" in one take. I'll say it again -- he did that song in one take. "The Show Must Go On" -- the entire Innuendo album, for that matter -- was what made Freddie Mercury into a legend. He was a courageous son-of-a-bitch who didn't give two shits about the fact that he was dying from, of all things, a bronchial infection brought on by AIDS. For those who've never listened to the Innuendo album before, it is a DAMN good listen. Close your eyes as "Ride the Wild Wind" or "The Hitman" is blasted. Take in the incredible melodies of the title track, "These Are the Days of our Lives," and "The Show Must Go On." Despite his failing health, Freddie rocked out harder on that album than he ever did on his previous efforts. Truly a musical masterclass.
Brian May is an animal campaigner now, he is protesting against fox hunting, badger culling, founded Save Me trust which is an animal welfare organisation that campaigns against fox hunting and badger culling. In his interviews he is saying he wants to be remembered for helping animals, not so much as a Queen guitarist. He is a selfless and kindest man. I saw him in London's protests against fox hunting, he walked among other people, absolutely incredible. Do you often see film stars or singers going on protests with ordinary people? I haven't
I find it insulting that he would dismiss Queen Luke that. If Brian hadn’t been a rock star there would never be as much attention drawn to the cause. He can go and do regular things and be normal but he isn’t a normal person he is a legend. Don’t get me wrong but Queen gave him doors and windows that opened for him that would near been open to anyone else.
@@nancyblumberg4612 But unlike your opinion, he seems doesn't care about publicity and popularity at all, he just doing at the moment what he think is more important for him at the moment, most interviews are about animals rights than about his group. If he wasn't famous, he would have done it anyway, without interviews and publicity, what is your problem? People fighting for animal rights everywhere, without being famous. I participate in fox rescue auction, I am doing all sorts of crafts and then donate them to auction (you can check my channel) I am not famous, but I do it because I want to do something for foxes and badges and other rescue operation by funding those organisation. He also is doing it because he is kind person and has more capabilities than other people.

Ive heard people say Freddie's voice didn't sound any different on Innuendo but i think you can tell by The Show Must Go On that he was in pain. His leg was in an apalling state, he was missing toes, gangrene had set in & his heel & shin bone was exposed & his mouth was plagued with ulcers & open sores. But i think hitting those high notes was better for him than any painkiller or drug ever was - i bet he was on a high for days after completing his vocals & the feeling of accomplishment maybe gave him some hope that everything was gonna be ok
I don't think Brian was ever too confident about his song titles. He was the same with Tie Your Mother Down, asking Freddie 'should it be called Tie Your Mother Down'
I disagree with what you said about Brian. And asking Freddie about a title is illustrating collaboration which is how the band was so successful. Among themselves they were all considered equals.
