Driving in the highlands in Scotland, I told my then husband I could hear bagpipes. He said I was imagining it. Lo and behold, we rounded a corner, and there was a solid Scotsman, dressed in his kilt, against a backdrop of a snow topped mountain, with a little tartan stool beside him for donations, playing the bagpipes. I have a photo of me standing beside him. It was one of the highlights of my trip.
Whenever you're hunting will be with you now if you hear being high in the near future maybe your husband will not believe in you when you hear your beer and high😊😊❤

I’ve seen the toughest SOBs in my family break down into tears as the casket of loved ones leaves the church and heads for the cemetery. I’ve heard this at over 20 Irish Catholic funerals in Chicago, all family members.
Being Canadian, this song holds a constant and powerful strength over me. I hear it all the time in the name of those who have fallen for the great north and it's allies. God bless those who serve and have served, for we shall forever be in your debt.
My father passed away back in October to cancer...he introduced me to this song...and I forgot to play it at his service. So I listen to it every night, in honor of him.
The bagpipe is not Scottish 🧐🤓 It doesn't come from their land or culture. There are so many countries that use the same ancient instrument, originally comes from the Hittite a thousand years BC .
I learned to play bag pipes 2 years ago, today was the first time i played in front of anybody. My father moved on from this earth and i was asked by my family to play. Being one of the hardest days of my life i some how made it. Form this day forward when ever i hear this song it hits me hard, farewell pops i hope you enjoyed what i played for you, please continue to guide, continue to love and i will continue to think about you daily.
Sorry for your loss. From this day forward when you play it will be a tribute to your dad. Find a place where he took you outdoors as a kid. Go there and play like the guy in this video. Most people love the bagpipes and will be moved by your solitary performance. Some may find peace in what they hear and you'll be able to tell your dad through song, thank you for the memories he made with you at the place you choose to play.
This Song Reminds Me Of When A WWII Veteran Had Fallen In Battle. Rest In Peace To Those Allies Who Fought For Our Freedom Today. You Will Always Be Remembered As THE GREATEST GENERATION And May Your Soul Continue To Roam The Earth. Thank You For Your Service. 🫡
I always cry when I hear this song on bagpipes. I miss my friend, my family members who had to leave this world. We will meet again somewhere, and someday ...

My Dad passed away on October 27th at the age of 70 years old due to Lung Cancer that was at stage 4!! Played this song at the graveside service and we all cried but we were at peace knowing he's not struggling anymore!!
Thank you for this beautiful song. My father loved this song and he loved the bagpipes. He passed away just last Friday and we had his memorial service today (he donated his body to science). His cousin was at the service today and played this on the bagpipes-was WONDERFUL. I know my dad was grinning ear to ear in heaven.
A fellow elder from our church went to be with the Lord today. Covid took him away from us... He was a giver and a good soul. Came to listen to this while bidding him farewell. You will be missed Elie
I recently attended my grandfather's funeral. He was an honorable man. Scottish Heritage, and a US Navy Veteran, who served in The Korean War. Throughout the funeral service, I held my composure. Especially for my mother and grandmother. But at the end of the service, the navy did their 21 gun salute for him. And as they walked his casket out, I saw a man decorated in his dress blues along with a kilt, playing Amazing Grace on bagpipes. And at that point, I lost my composure. I know my grandpa would've loved to see that! RIP Grandpa! You'll be missed!
First heard this when I was 12 years old, at family friend’s funeral. He was a policeman, murdered in the line of duty. It shakes me to my core every time I hear it.
I went to a Catholic High School. Not everybody sang along during mass all the time. Not everybody prayed all the time. But I’ll never forget when one of our classmates died. We had a mass that week. They opened with this song on bagpipes. Everybody sang. Everybody prayed I’ve never felt the presence of God in a room before that moment. In that moment, I felt it. To my great uncle Nicholas: I was only a young boy when my memories of you were engrained, but those memories will last forever. You were a gentle man. You made me laugh. I sat next to you in the kitchen and remember you used to make silly Turkey noises. As time came to pass, I learned what I never knew: you were a medic in the Battle of the Bulge. The memories you had were dark and listening to what my parents eventually told me, you were suffering. Great Uncle Nicholas, you laid asleep and are now resting without stress, anger, or poor memories. The most important thing to me are the happy memories you left me. Rest in peace great uncle Nicholas. I will never forget you.
I am from Bangladesh, a small country in Asia. I simply love the sound of this instrument since i was 5 years. My father used to play it in record player.
With no words this song asks... No, It commands your respect. It commands you remember their sacrifice. Be it from a soldier serving in the line of duty, or from a simple person who did right by others. And it commands you move on, for you still have much to do in this world, people to help, friends to comfort, and lives to touch. You may still have time to honor this song with your passing as well.

My step father was a Scotsman through and through, the day of his funeral service unbeknownst to me, my mother choose this song to be played as his farewell by a friend on his bagpipes. As the oldest son I tried to be strong for my mother, but as he walked in the hall and started to play, the hairs on my back stood up and I broke into tears, this tune is so powerful. RIP Charley.

Along with I Swear and Wind Beneath The Wings, this was played at my dad's funeral last week. It was a hard day for us all. This was in dedication to my dad and his family as he was 100% Scottish. Fly high with the angels, Dad. We will see each other again one day. Miss u always. xxxxxxxxx

This was played at my uncles funeral. Normaly i’m good with keeping my emotions in check. But hearing this at we picked up his casket made me cry like i never have cried before
I am learning the bagpipes to honor my Scottish grandmother and my Father who came over to North America and gave me a good life. They've provided everything for me and I think the least I could to pay my respects and say a final "Thank you" would be to play this at their funeral and when I visit. Scottish Pride runs strong in my family, yet we don't have a piper since my uncle died. I've chosen to take that mantle and bare it.
Amazing grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I’m found T’was blind but now I see Amen, through accepting Christ as our savior and reading and believing the gospel we have eternal life. Prior to being saved we are blind by our own wants and desires in this life. Let us not focus on the things which will not last. Rather let us focus on eternal life and living in the Lords will here in earth! Beautiful song, I love the bagpipes! Awesome work

I’m proud to be of IRISH DECENT
I done a DNA test and it said I was 30% Scottish, 25% Irish and 45% American
Irish Ancestry here, does that count?
I’ve seen the toughest SOBs in my family break down into tears as the casket of loved ones leaves the church and heads for the cemetery.
I’ve heard this at over 20 Irish Catholic funerals in Chicago, all family members.
Being Canadian, this song holds a constant and powerful strength over me. I hear it all the time in the name of those who have fallen for the great north and it's allies. God bless those who serve and have served, for we shall forever be in your debt.

Is that a Girls und Panzer character or an OC?
@@seronymus I think it's supposed to be a play of Katyusha with a more desert suited uniform, but I found it while searching for Katyusha.
"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation"
Amen brother

Beautiful ❤️
My father passed away back in October to cancer...he introduced me to this song...and I forgot to play it at his service. So I listen to it every night, in honor of him.
So very sorry for your loss 😢😢😭😭
There's nothing stopping you from going to his gravestone and playing it. And please pour a 40 malt for me. This is so sad.
And the bagpipes reach the highest heavens to his ears as they have for many before him and after him may he rest in peace
I’m English and I find the bagpipes hauntingly beautiful….it must sound amazing in that valley…..EPIC!
Every single time I hear the bagpipes it transports me to my father's funeral , and my eyes well up with tears .I miss you Dad...
I’m sorry for your loss…

he lives on with you in your heart though, and every day you make him proud. remember that.
This comment made me tear up a bit too. Here’s to your dad🥂.
Be proud of your father
Nobody can play amazing grace like the Scottish bagpipes. Brings tears to my eyes every time. God Bless the Scottish.

I often feel that there is something beautifully noble about the sound of bagpipes.
For ceremonial purposes in periods of grief and mourning, while playing a slow and sad song, it is an incredibly noble instrument.
It always brings tears to my eyes! As a former soldier I heard it every Memorial Day! Sad but so beautiful!
Never been to Scotland but damn you people make me cry of joy with the bagpipes.
1960's Clint Eastwood Bagpipes are actually a universal instrument. It’s just the trademark instrument of Scotland. They are amazing.
Jesus Christ 1960's Clint Eastwood. Youve gone soft. What kind of Spaghetti Western Mickey Mouse world are you living in Clint?
Well I have
The bagpipe is not Scottish 🧐🤓
It doesn't come from their land or culture.
There are so many countries that use the same ancient instrument, originally comes from the Hittite a thousand years BC .
@@DevinMillarDM what does Clint Eastwood have to do with anything?

Reminded of my brother's funeral service in April of 2012, bagpipes played this. He was 14, I was 12. Still hurts, still hits home.
I'm sure it still hurts-so young, both of you-and I'm so sorry for your loss.
My fish went to the big pond in the sky. Thank you for your friendship. Felt appropriate to play this while flushing him down the toilet.
Bro, wtf?! 🤣🤣🤣
I always cry when I hear this song on bagpipes. I miss my friend, my family members who had to leave this world. We will meet again somewhere, and someday ...

I am not an emotional person. That being said, I tear up within 5 seconds of this playing. Every. Damn. Time.
It amazes me how one song can be so uplifting and joyful performed one way, but bring people to tears when performed differently
Me as well. Every time. Without fail lol.
I'm with you on that sam god bless you .......❤
We had a memorial today for a soldier and friend of mine, I thought I would be okay but when they came in playing this my heart died a little
Same here...
Dad and I used to hike places just like this when I was young. He passed in 2020. I miss him so much. Thank you for this.
When your DNA test says you’re 1.00% Scottish:
Lol, so true...I'm Mexican and my DNA results gave me a 1.4% British Isles so I'm gonna assume Scottish 🤣

About to be a year August 12th since my dad entered his wonderful eternal life. This song brings me peace.
First heard this when I was 12 years old, at family friend’s funeral. He was a policeman, murdered in the line of duty.
It shakes me to my core every time I hear it.
Your Dad was a hero! Believe that.
Take care.
I went to a Catholic High School. Not everybody sang along during mass all the time. Not everybody prayed all the time. But I’ll never forget when one of our classmates died. We had a mass that week. They opened with this song on bagpipes. Everybody sang. Everybody prayed
I’ve never felt the presence of God in a room before that moment. In that moment, I felt it.

That's how you know, you've got Scottish Blood. You feel that tingle down the spine, the shiver as memories of those who came before return, to the call of the pipes, beckoning you home

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind but now I see
Was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far
And Grace will lead us home
And Grace will lead us home
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
Was blind, but now I see
When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
This was played at my sisters funeral. It will be played at mine.
I want it played at mine too. Beautiful song, beautiful instrument.
Truly sorry for your sister's passing.
I'm sorry for your lost.🙏🏽😔
@username unknown my dad said exactly the same thing, even though he never listened to bagpipe music.. and now he passed. I wonder if the uploader has an idea on how many funeral services this is played.. and how many find comfort in it.
Had it played at my grandmothers and mothers funeral amazing both times.

Bagpipes are truly the most beautiful instrument, when played in the proper habitat. It makes you feel the most beautiful pain, the most agonizing of love, it’s breathtaking.
This song on the pipes stirs my ancestral blood & makes me proud to have a drop of Scottish blood in my soul!

My uncle just passed this morning. He used to sing us the Scottish songs that his father taught him from Scotland. When I hear this played live, I start sobbing with the most guttural cries you have ever heard!

This is an English song written by John Newton 1725 - 1807 put to music by William Monk 1863 - 1907.
As a Englishmen I have that same feeling my hairs stand up instantly my eyes become watery
Beautiful English song.
Bagpipes are the knuckleball of instruments. Difficult to master but devastating in the right hands

I lost my aunt and my cousin today from cardiac arrest and this gets me through it. Thank you for this beautiful sound.

This always brings a tear to my eye and makes the hairs on my arms stand on end. It fills me with pride, honor and thankfulness for my Scottish heritage
This was played at my uncles funeral. Normaly i’m good with keeping my emotions in check. But hearing this at we picked up his casket made me cry like i never have cried before
Please accept my heartfelt condolences
I am learning the bagpipes to honor my Scottish grandmother and my Father who came over to North America and gave me a good life. They've provided everything for me and I think the least I could to pay my respects and say a final "Thank you" would be to play this at their funeral and when I visit. Scottish Pride runs strong in my family, yet we don't have a piper since my uncle died. I've chosen to take that mantle and bare it.
Rest in peace to my Nana, we has someone play this on the bagpipes during her funeral while we carried the casket, miss her every day
