Another absolutely wonderfl interpretation, which I would like to recommend is from William Singe. Thanks for your wonderful Chanel Chris.

    • @Xia-hu
      @Xia-hu 2 месяца назад

I think he would disagree. There are thousands of hours of practice behind that voice. Compare how he sounded when OOR's first album came out in 2007. It's literally worlds apart. He was a good singer back then too, but he developed and honed his voice over the years to this level (and beyond, now he sounds even more polished)

    • @inthesun3799
      @inthesun3799 2 месяца назад

@@Xia-hu I agree that Taka has trained a lot and now sounds so polished. But still I love how he sounds in their early times and my fav song is second single from them. Taka's vocal was not this level that time but was still so shining from my point of view. That's why Gt.(Toru) was stalking him and trying to get him to join his band.
↓ Love this song, it's form around 10 years ago and the way he sings is a bit different from now, rough and sounds row and I love it.

The nicest famous person I've ever met too (back in 2014 warped tour). Everyone in the band actually was super friendly and amazing. They weren't even really obligated to talk to anyone before they went on, but we all still chatted a little bit and took pictures (which got destroyed with my old phone. Have back ups of your data so you don't lose important memories!). Their set even got cut a little early because it took a bit to set up and they weren't angry or anything with the staff. They still had great energy and were very humble and grateful. And of course I still had to meet them in their booth one more time before I left. I'll never forget that day for sure.

Always sooo excited whenever your videos' thumbnail with Taka on it suddenly pops up on my yt recommendations. I think, you're by far the vocal coach who's truly give analysis on every single of Taka's vocal techniques. Love the most whenever Taka uses different techniques come after another on each words in single sentence😂 and you need to replay it so many times to make sure we understand❤
Maybe, if you're looking for live performances which more focused on Taka's voice, i recommend *"Your Tears Are Mine"* and *"When They Turn the Lights On"* . Imo, wtttlo is kind of like Queen🤘🏻
Actually, i also wanna hear your opinion of their heavy live performances, like *"Mighty Long Fall" and "Deeper Deeper"* at Yokohama Stadium 2014. I really love their energy and Taka's screams at there🔥

His voice is unique too, you can tell it's him whenever you hear his voice! And FYI he was in a Japanese boy band NEWS in 2003, that's surprising right?! I'm glad One Ok Rock guitarist Toru insisted him to join OOR lol
Next please check out Taka's old voice (2010-2013 era) on One Ok Rock's songs :
    Songs with screams :
    - Liar
    - Deeper Deeper
    - No Scared
    Mid-tempo songs :
    - C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h.
    Slow songs :
    - Be the Light
    - Heartache (Studio Jam Session version)
    Songs with rap :

It would be awesome to see your analysis of their heavier music. Their song "One by One" live at Saitama super arena 35xxxv tour is a perfect song to begin with. It's so reminiscent of Chester Bennington it's crazy.
He actually did this cover nearly a decade ago and he's gotten so much better. You should check out one of their most recent recordings. For a faster song there's "Vandalize" and a slower song is "Your Tears are Mine", both are from their studio jam session 5.
I've also seen you work with Elizabeth from The charismatic voice. I'm dying to see her reaction to Taka.

Hiro, Taka's brother and lead singer of his rock band, My First Story, says that since they were kids they played with their families singing.
The father would ask "Have you heard the new song?" of those new hits that just came out on the radio and ask them to sing along. He says that he would get angry if they skipped the lyrics and they had to sing it perfectly.

Honestly, idk how would you call it in prof singing terms, but it must be some of the reasons I’ve beed folowing this band for over a decade now, his voice, or his style of singing is so… dynamic? I’m sure he’s not the only one in the music industry, but he can do it all, sing smooth as butter and hit high note with a voice of an angelic, scream, rap, he can have raspy voice, and make it break emotionally and all that possibly in one song. And he does so much with the melody, like he makes 4 diftent saunds/modifications in onr word. And yeah, he makes it sound effortlessly xd I mean, he has a lot of practice, he was on a training in an entertainment company to debute in a boy band/idol group, when he was 14 I think? It didn’t work out, but then he joined this band when he was 17, and it’s been 18 years in studio and on stage. So a lot of practice xd
You can check out ‘Good Goodbye’(acustic, Saitama Station) or ‘Renegades’(piano version) for some more great vocals from Taka, and those videos kinda show how he breaths, if that would be helpful
But also I have a question, did you notice that Taka holds his mic extremely close to his mouth? Does anyone else does it like that? I don’t know if I ever noticed any other singers do that. Do you think it helps him, or is that just a quirk?
    Thanks for those reactions ☺️

Oh wow, it's really interesting to hear such a deep analysis of "whys" and "hows". I would recommend to check out a Korean vocal group called Forestella, their covers of Je suis malade, Time in a bottle, or Bohemian rhapsody. I'm curious to hear such an analysis of their techniques too.

On the opposite end of the spectrum vocally, I’d love to see you react to Geoff Castellucci. Literally anything by him, but I could maybe recommend “Sixteen Tons” as a starting point.

Hey Chris, unrelated to this vid but, you should check out a new song by Tesseract called Legion - amazing vocals on it imo.
