  • I'd been told about Taka's grittier side, but hadn't experienced it until I watched this video. There's so much to unpack with his screaming technique and heavy vocals! Join me for an in-depth vocal analysis! Free Voice Lessons: chrisliepe.com...
You definitely hear that Chester Bennington influence in there, but Taka really makes it his own when he get up into that gritty stratosphere!

Can you please react to some MafuMafu songs... specifically his switch of female/male voice (he is biologically male)
in this song for example he specifically targeted this switch チューリングラブ/まふまふ×まぬんちゃん【一人で歌ってみた】
as there are not many male singers out there that I know of that can create such a legit sounding female voice I would be interested in your take

and if you want a more older version of ADO's playfulness then I recommend 【Ado】アクシデントコーディネイター 歌いました this song.
Since as far as my musical knowledge and feeling about the song go, I think shes veeery playful here
I personally like to just sing with her even if I miss the lyrics here and there bc of the fast paced japanese, I just like how the voice jumps up and down and just does whatever it wants
one could also maybe compare this relatively old cover of ado with her newer songs to see how and where she has improved/focused on

Finaallyy a vocal coach make an analysis on Taka in Deeper Deeper!! Other vocal coaches only did reacts and vocal analysis on their newer albums. Their heavier older albums are still untouched😢
Now that you put a clip of Chester's scream together with Taka's, they do sounds really similar lol.. I love their Live performances at Yokohama 2014 and Saitama 2015, they performed a lot of heavier stuff. Next ones:
    - No Scared (Yokohama 2014)
    - One by One (Saitama 2015)
    - Liar (Saitama 2015)

I read somewhere that during this concert, he has a cold or something, so his voice was not stable. He regretted a lot after the show, that he couldn't give a better performance. That may explain for some of the cracks.

What most impresses me, besides all the technic that Taka has, is how energetic he is on the scenario, that didn't happen on this video, but he normally is running and jumping the entire song and STILL doing really great notes! Also the videos from the Studio Jam session are really great to hear (its kind an unplugged version of them so its awesome)

Every time I hear this I wonder what things would've been like if OOR did end up touring with Linkin Park. It's crazy that this performance was back in 2014, and the first time they played in a stadium. Taka was still working on getting rid of his Japanese accent.
What would be incredible is if you checked out a couple songs from every live show that they've released starting at 2012. Getting your thoughts on how Taka is constantly working to get better would be really great.
If you want you can check out their recent release of "Make it out Alive" live at the one chance festival.

Makes sense that it reminds you of Chester, Taka was a big fan of Chester and they even became friends later in Chester's life. Taka did the song Somewhere I Belong with Linkin Park at their memorial show for CB. There's a picture of them somewhere you could find easily !

There are some Japanese artists that I love as much as oneokrock who sing very difficult songs.
The name is "official Hige Dandism".
There is a very talented vocalist who has a distinctive husky voice with a high range and can sing in a yodel-like manner and even shout, so I would like you to listen to him and analyze him.
The lyrics are in Japanese, but there are English subtitles, so I think you can understand the lyrics.

Love your analysis on this 😁 Isn’t it impressive that Taka does all thet while walking, running, interacting with an audience and even jumping? xD
Btw, did you notice how Taka holds his mic 🎤 usually very close to his mouth? Can someone tell me, does it help him somehow, or is it just a choice, prrhaps just a quirk? xd
I hope you analise something else of them! I don’t rememeber if you did ‘Renegades’, acoustic with a piano? And you should check out “Good Goodbye “ for rly angelic voice, and you can rly see how he breaths in that video a and you should check out “One by One” for another heavy one 😁😍 And! You should check out something from Studio Jam Sessions, “Taking Off” or “Vandalise” for sure!

Also, if you recommend ONE OK ROCK that has never been seen before, Saitama super arena paper planes ruclips.net/video/pda1zrpZLP8/видео.htmlsi=D-m_E5JOIBmGQoWy was the best✨I didn't see the same scene anymore, and it was obviously a rare thing✨This band You can feel the level of singing voice rising every year, so I think it will be a more fun video if you compare and watch from 2014 to 2023✨❤😊

If you want to hear more sides to Taka's voice, such as getting more into the metally side of things, give "Liar" a listen. Amazing heavy song and his vocal is EXTREMELY intense. "100%" is also great, as is "Never Let This Go".
Alternatively, Dir en Grey is another talented Japanese band with vocals I think you'd be very surprised by. He makes sounds with his voice you'll never hear anyone else doing, and is known for having an insanely high range. He's also deaf in one ear. "Vinushka" is a great example of such vocals, as is "Ryoujoku No Ame".

also, this is a 10 year old clip. Taka has immensely improved in the vocal department since then, even though he has always been a good singer since his childhood (his parents are famous singers in Japan and he was recruited by a big entertainment company to be an idol singer, so he got formal training there too, but he dropped out as he was a reckless teen and ran away from home at the age of 16. He worked at a restaurant for a while as a sleep-in worker. Then Toru, the guitarist found him at a live performance and decided "this dude will be our lead singer" and literally stalked him into joining OOR. LOL).

Loving the vocal analysis of Taka, Ado and etc. I think it would be really interesting to see your analysis of Minami singing "Crying for Rain" since I think the techniques used in the song would pique your interest

Yeah, these were the best days of OOR. I saw them 2014 and 2015 live and they played Deeper Deeper both times. LOVED IT! His voice was so cracky at this time. And I love such voices.
Deeper Deeper was my first song I found by this band. Well his voice was always very good, but because I don't like pop music, I don't like most of the new songs. So far I heard the new album should be rock again.
Anyway: Very interesting video! I didn't know much about voice techniques and saw your video from Imminence (another great band!) and now OOR :D

Hello friend, I would like to know why you are not reacting to the videos of Gabriel Henrique's participation in the “Cracium 2023 Concert”. I found out that RUclips blocked his videos on this show. Is that why you don't have access?
    Thanks!

    Hello Chris!
First, let me apologize for posting this comment under a couple of your videos but it's veeery important to me and I've been looking for an answer to this question for years and am inhumanly frustrated so I really wanted your attention 😅
I know that you usually don't take requests but could you make a video about what I think is a really important topic?:
Early vs Late briding and how to make your mixed voice beefier? (I know that you made videos on how to make your mix beefier but it's not exactly what I'm talking about - I also mean tone wise)
A perfect example of this is a song sang by two different vocalists of Iced Earth(notice the very obvious difference in tone when they sing "the blood is the life" - Barlow sings it much closer to how Chris Cornell would sing it and Stu Block seems to be using more of a Halford/Falsetto approach)
    This is the beefy one(Barlow):
    ruclips.net/video/Z_B5EfshvO0/видео.htmlsi=XqBwnngp34ivQq7N
And this is the weaker one(Block)
    ruclips.net/video/so99F-1DbOk/видео.htmlsi=hrjRH2CcWDXwapCw
I don't think it solely comes down to their voice types as it is evident that Barlow puts in a lot more of his chest voice
Almost like reaches down for it
I also think that Cornell did it too hence his vocals had that "weight" that's very hard to replicate
If you or anyone has any insight on how to do it please feel free to let me know
    Thank you
