K but the Evention TV intro remains the most legendary RUclips intro/music video ever. And then there's the AC/DC background music... Such good taste.

We tried this grid today for our horses' first time ever jumping a real grid. It took them a little while to figure themselves out and where to put their feet, especially for the bounce, but, at the end, their technique in addition to their confidence was improved by a lot! Thanks so much for all of your helpful videos; so many horses have been changed for the better with these great ideas and schooling methods!

These videos are awesome - I recently came across them and I am so happy that students (mine included) can go on you tube to study without having to open (or purchase) the books I usually recommend. This is a much better way to study, it's way more in depth than most of the books I have found so I love them - I am a show jumper/trainer and I love what you are doing here. What a great way to teach - I love it!

I tried this today. Let's just say I ate a lot of sand ;D totally my fault, next time I'll start with the last jump as just a pole on the ground. Great exercise though, I love you guys!

Eventionerds. That's what I would call people who watch these religiously and spend nearly every moment of their free time (that they don't spend riding/at the barn) watching these videos, listening to Boyd Martin/Dom Schramm/Michael Pollard podcasts, and reading blogs. Not that I do that or anything...;)
    Great video! Keep 'em coming!

I love this video. Sooo helpful. Great how you give different ways of measuring the pole/fence distance and you make it accessible to people with...' less sophisticated ' equipment. Start was a bit weird though :)

Haha, this helped ALOT, got my green ish (new to jumping) horse really thinking and upswing his muscle! We raised the bounce to two feet and the last vertical to 3 feet! He engaged it and kinda taught him not to rush (because of the trot poles he couldn't rush in at a canter) thanks! Keep going!!

enjoyed the programme, but can you please advise people when they buy the barrels to buy plastic ones. A friend was using the old metal barrels and her horse slipped and put his leg through the metal barrel which ended up with him having to be put down. These accidents don't often happen but they can. Can you also advise people to NEVER use three poles on the ground, because this can encourage the horse to jump all three at once.

Barbara Dyson Actually plastics barrels are a very bad idea too. As they are made of hard plastic, when it happens that they break, the ends get sharp. A horse making a mistake, breaking a plastic barrel could injure himself severely. So I'd say always use wood barrels.

:D As a side note, do you have any tips or exercises to help make lower legs stronger and more secure? Mudpie fractured his splint bone, and over the six months that he was off, I didn't ride and lost all the security I'd ever had in my lower leg. (see latest video for failish preview ;D) I ride every day, and have a lesson at least once a week, but is there any sort of exercise that I could do on my own to help it return faster? You guys are pretty much the coolest EVER, sooo :3

No one is achieving anything from the sounds of it, you're also quite inexperienced if it's your first horse, you have to think What's best for him, either get him professionally schooled or sell him as a project (be honest in his advert or you'll get a bad reputation) and buy something more suited to you. Never get on a horse unless you know you'll win the battle otherwise you'll create a problem horse. Sorry to be the one to say it but there's no point sugar coating it. It's What's best for the horse not what makes you happy
