Amazing video, there were more people on the bus this time than in the northbound video! I can’t wait for the route 721 videos!

We appreciate the kind words and encouragement; it inspires our team to continue to record bus routes no matter how early in the morning or how far they'll end up.

The Metropolitan Network Do you guys plan on recording the 794 that goes to Riverside as well?

An anonymous user gave our network a donation to record Route 701 and 721. Since route 794 is OCTA’s third intercounty express line, we plan to document that route later this spring or early summer. Thank you for your continued interest.

Awsome video!!! And yes those buses are very comfortables! I love those buses. Most of the time you can find those buses in the Route 83 and 54. And sometimes in the routes 53,59 and 60.
    Good job 👍✌😎

Exactly, these vehicles are over 10+ years old, it can go for another 10 to 15 years. The OCTA engineers and mechanics have kept these vehicles in great shape. The New Flyer C40LFR suburban class is mostly used for long distance freeway express and park & ride services for OCTA. Comfort is considered to be an important feature in this class of vehicles. We encountered a few of these classes on routes 83 and 59 as you mentioned. Thank you for the comment!

The Metropolitan Network From what I know, OCTA has units #5121-5139, while First Transit has units #5140-5150 which explains why they also appear on route 59

Good stuff, so glad those suburbans at the first transit division are still in great shape when discretionary riders are using them on local routes.

At the same time of the day how long would a drive from Union Station to the Goldenwest TC in comparison to the 701

    • @TheMetropolitanNetwork
      @TheMetropolitanNetwork  5 лет назад +2

Excellent question; according to Metro Trip Planner and Google Maps.
Leaving Goldenwest Transportation Center at 5:50 AM
By taking the bus, it will take 1 hr, 32 mins
By taking an automobile, it will take 1, hr 22 minutes.
Majority of the patrons park their automobiles and ride.

What is the fare for the 701? It looks like you only payed $2.

I need to go to Huntington Beach this Saturday and this bus is what I need. Does it go by Santa Monica Blvd?

      Well...

Unfortunately this route doesn’t even come close to Santa Monica Blvd. This bus is a Monday thru Friday Rush hour service from LA Union Station to Orange County. The best way for you to go to Huntington Beach this Saturday is to take MTA Line 460 from Downtown LA and transfer to OCTA Route 29 at La Mirada/Beach Blvd in Buena Park. Route 29 will take you directly to Huntington Beach/PCH.
