- Hello Frog Empire in this video I ramble about being evil in video games and feeling like a jerk even though it's just a video game and it isn't real but then on the other hand I'll commit mass atrocities in other games so what's the deal am I just a bad person

That frog sure has a moral compass.
He probably goes to the nether sometimes because that compass sometimes doesnt work
I remember the first time I was a jerk in a video game.
Dropping the baby penguin off the cliff in front of the mother on Cool Cool Mountain in Super Mario 64. Good times
thank you for trying what my child self couldnt, was it worth it?
Yes
@@emilywalla8958 Always worth it.
“Jerk mode” in Mass Effect is better known as “the GIGACHAD grindset”
For the most part I don't mind if marines die in Halo, but when you have one that survives for a while, it feels like a tragedy when they finally die
I've had that before. A friend and I were playing through Regret on Halo 2. We got our marines on the last gondola and I gave him a rocket. Going through Regrets temple killing elites and hunters. We get to the throne room and the marine was still alive. Got a rocket shot off on Regret, but didn't do any damage(we were on heroic too and that really surprised me)
I may be biased because of KoToR praise but i love this video. Just doing short little fun things like this on occasion in addition to speedrun content (or even making this kind of content your primary thing) is really fun! And your dry humor delivery is great!
Video games a great place for players to give into their intrusive thoughts without serious repercussions. "This guy is annoying. What if I just shot him?" "Could I survive if I jumped off this ledge?" etc.
I legit have a hard time being mean in games, I tried being mean to Tali for a few conversations, never again.
I can play evil in RPGs if I make myself, but I was completely unable to do a Legion run on Fallout New Vegas. They just suck too much.
You can be very good while in the legion, and also some people and places definitely can be rightfully destroyed, depending on the logic you go with. Like the hell with Nipton. On the other hand, I don’t normally let Cass get killed in the Van Graff quest, but it is an interesting quest if you do. I love very evil and very good runs in new Vegas. In 3, very evil is better than very good in my opinion
You get the NV stans who will screech "Um acshuallallleeeee da Legion r un morale quandry!" But no, they're just shite. XD
What an excellent idea for a video. For me, I'm mostly with you Frog. Maybe a little GTA and I don't mind running over pedestrians unnecessarily but especially when it comes to dialogue and actions that have consequences, I feel almost a pressure to be the good guy. Unlike my best friend who just starts playing a new game and his first thought is will the game let me shoot my partner?
Good analysis frog. To me I find being an evil jerk in many games to be quite boring. Being evil is almost the same in every single game. The player lie, threaten, steal and even outright kill NPCs. This would (a) lock content out because of the death of a quest giver or not enough good reputation and (b) boil down many games to its core combat loop which, particularly in many RPGs, is monotonous and not desirable on repeat.
However, if a game has a really engaging combat/gameplay loop, like GTA police system, or being good locks exciting content out, like Skyrim Dark Brotherhood, I will definite have a few evil play through.
"To sate the lust of power; more horrid still,
The foulest stain and scandal of our nature
Became its boast - One Murder made a Villain,
Millions a Hero. - Princes were privileg’d
To kill, and numbers sanctified the crime.
Ah! why will Kings forget that they are Men?"
I see why you wear a crown, great video.
"Silly woman"
*bam*

I would argue dark side is worse than light side in the first kotor, at least on pc. You get way better equipment than dark side throughout most of the game. You don’t have to sink any points into wisdom and still end up with higher wisdom. And honestly who needs force lightning? You get a way better healing power, stasis, force wave and destroy droid are nice options too
I've actually never done light side lol. Who needs better healing when every enemy is too dead to hurt you? It also speeds up Malak since you can easily just kill all the Jedi he has in the tanks yourself and deny him of his healing
Lmao at the marine comment, nice video Frog
One of my most evil moments came in RDR2. Was riding through New Hanover and came across this guy shooting birds out of the sky and I accepted his challenge to see who could kill more. Somehow, I lost. When it came time to pay, I just stared at him for a good 2 seconds before unloading my revolver into him. Gave me a good laugh 😅
I discovered your channel through your Halo CE Speedrun history/documentary video. Loved it & immediately subbed. Now after binging through all of your videos, I'm very happy finding you. Thank you for making such entertaining content!!
Also I'd be very curious to see you play Undertale if you ever get around to it. It's my favorite game of all time
I try doing evil playthroughs here and there, but once I tried to do one in RDR2,
I shot some dude and robbed him and he had a sad note in his pocket from his wife.
Had a big change of heart so I just avoided doing “jerky” things the rest of the game lmao.
Anyways great video, and I subbed!
Best editing yet.... now do a New Vegas video
This new kind of video is great! Keep it up! Also, YOU MONSTER ONE OF THOSE MARINES WAS GOING TO CURE CANCER!
i can already smell the demonetization, and age restriction lol, you and me have to much in common with this stuff
Good video with a nice inspiring message at the end
The dad frog!!! LOL
Gave me a chuckle
On the subject of Anakin, he felt that the dark side was the only way to save Padmé. Killing children was the only way, to his mind, since that would make his master more powerful. It doesnt come across in the movies well, no doubt, but it's actually extremely tragic.
I used to torture minecraft villagers when i was a kid
5:24 you reminded me of how often this happens in Mass Effect 2 (somehow more often than Mass Effect 3)
The ones i can remember right now are Legion's loyalty mission (Reprogram the geth heretics vs destroying them), Kasumi's loyalty mission (keep the graybox or destroy it) and the final mission of the game (destroy the collector base vs keep it to Cerberus)
What brothers me is how "reprograming" is considered Paragon, like, ah yes it's totally a Paragon thing to just do exactly what the Reapers do with indotrination, even other squadmates point that out
Then there's the collectors base which, sure Cerberus isn't as trustworthy as the Alliance or Council but you have to consider that keeping the collector base COULD'VE helped you to fight off the reapers. (until ME3 pretty much ruined the potential consequences of that choice + ruining Cerberus and TIM as a whole, thanks ME3 writers and EA)
And also in Kasumi's loyalty mission, for some reason destroying the graybox is renegade??? Like, even when her deceased partner is telling kasumi to destroy it for her own safety??????
This is an interesting video pls make more like this
When I play this one funny game called Kenshi where everysingle moment of my character's life is a struggle for survival and always get their ass kicked by everyone and everything, yeah, I'm gonna return the favor when the characters are strong enough to kick back at the abusers and send them to get eaten alive by some horrible creature that I had tamed.
-also there's the hrpgs where you can r4p3 the possible companions but thats pushing it alot-
For Cyberpunk 2077, I do have a bit of a moral quandary. I try to do things stealthily and kill when I need to or when being attacked. I can feel bad and try to do the good decisions, or reluctantly go for the bad decision because it would be better in the long run for some reason.
And then you got Scavs, Maelstrom, Tyger Claws, and VDBs who are so horrible, I usually solve problems relating to those gangs with gratuitous amounts of violence, and my question is how will I kill them this time.
Great video Frog.
0:10 that's not evil, so you're still a good person for doing it
Thanks for once again reminding me why the kotor games are some of the best rpgs to ever exist. Tragic we'll never get a star wars game with that level of quality again.
I actually like being a jerk in video games. I was as evil as I could be in Knights of the Old Republic. The one game I've learned that being bad is NOT the way to go is Daggerfall. Always having guards on my a** to banish me while I'm trying to complete quests is not a fun time. I did use Dagrep and now I just got a prison sentence and haven't had a guard follow me since.
My moral compass when I play RPG games is whatever I think fits my character. On Skyrim ive done runs where I couldnt imagine killing anyone that wasnt evil or attacking me to start with and runs where I commit genocide purely because Im pretty sure my character would have a prejudice against certain groups. Halo I cant just outright merk Marines unless im just fucking around and going to reset to last checkpoint, and Dishonored ive done runs where ive killed Guards for 'Supporting' the overthrowing, even if unknowingly, resulting in the circumstances and others where Ive only killed the big culprits because no one else knew the truth. I will say tho, Ive reset entire Fable runs because a single decision thats in-line for my characters ruins something.
3:05 ah blessed Skyrim and it's intended features (look at the foot)
I killed Mission because I hope I would get the Revan Mask during the dark side ending. 10/10 would do it again for the mask.
Great vid Frog!
Another banger video by the frog
Yeah I 100 % made Zaalbar kill Mission on my last playthrough of KOTOR and it was amazing. >:D
MOTHER FROGARCHIST UPLOADED GET THE POPCORN, THIS MF NEVER MISSES!
great video frog very cool!!!
Hahahaha! Nice watermark, Frog. I'm assuming you're a fan of the Cyraxxverse?
I have no absolutely idea what you're talking about lol
Oh, weird. When I was watching this video yesterday, your watermark was a different character. It was a cartoon of Cyraxx (an infamous lolcow). Now I'm seeing it as the frog. It must have been some sort of RUclips glitch.
Would you kill Sgt Johnson if it wasn’t for the speed runs tho😔😔😔
I'm here to support you friend
If I made star wars game I would gave light side users sex scene and dark side users stronger powers and see how much time players need to discover sex scene
Ave, True to Caesar!
Ola! 🤩
I think Elon was joking
@elon he's killing the marines D':
U should try Manhunt 1 or 2
Look mum, I’m famous!
soup
Elon didn’t form a connection with the police NPCs in the prologue of GTA5 though, he is just a boot-licking cop lover.
Elon Musk the type of dude to love anti capitalist media (Cyberpunk, Deux Ex, Fallout) but not understand the basic themes.
@@steelbear2063I guess all art is worthless then.
Fucking moron
But isn't enjoying killing random non-hostile npcs a bit concerning? I don't think I would want to be friends with someone who gets a dopamine rush every time they massacre civilians in an airport, even if it's just in a videogame.
How do people get mad at your for killin the marines.. its a video game lol
Another thing that makes Musk's comment weird is that the part where you shoot cops comes after you've started doing an armed robbery, so he thinks pointing a gun at armed agents of the state is worse than pointing a gun at innocent bystanders.
