I drove this car as a rental for 10 days. God it was amazing. This beast goes to 62 in 6.2s. Just put it in sport mode, hold the break, push the gas and let go of the break and you just lift of. It's also just so much fun to just pass people like it's nothing. It's drinks like crazy though especially in sport mode. Filling it up costs around 70 to 80 dollars depending on the gas price.
To make the middle seats lay flat you first need to pull the base of the seat up by the tab you see on the seat base. Also the thing you put your hand on when pressing the reading light buttons in the third row shows the graphic for the reverse parking sensors. And that sales guy wasn't correct. It isn't based on the S Class chassis but rather a longer wheelbase version of the GLE. The S was added on this facelift model purely to indicate where it sits in their SUV range when they changed the names to make it uniform across their lineup.
No but he didn't explain the lights in a way that makes it look cool which it is. Basically with the high beam assist, a camera behind the rear view mirror (you can see it in the windshield in the top) can see other cars ahead and adjusts the high beam so as to not blind those drivers. You basically drive with the high beam on and let the car adjust it to not blind others. Come on guys....
David, don't trust the salesman: this vehicle platform is from the prior gen ML class, not the S class. Which should not be viewed as criticism as that platform laid the base for many honorable vehicles including current version Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Thanks for noticing! One of the underlying themes of this series has been that educational aspect. It's certainly been a learning experience! The Mercedes-Benz vehicles are especially different than our others, so the learning curve is even steeper.
I can't believe that with Merc upgrading all their interiors and making them so beautiful that they're still selling an S Class SUV with that center console that looks like it hasn't been updated since the '80s. Shocking. C'mon Benz, don't you know there's some serious competition out there now? It's 2017 for pete's sake!
Nice review! Still needs some improvements on your expressing words, feels like you have no idea what to say 😁✌️ I wish I could do this job ✌️I'm not good at it!
Why would you raise the suspension when not needing it. Haha. Just pressing buttons not knowing what theh do. These videos are toooo funny. Hahaha. 😂😂😂
I own this exact vehicle. It’s is a dumpster fire. I spent 5k right awyat the dealer to repair suspension. Then LED headlight (plastic) cracked and resulting in a cascade of error messages that culminated with the message that the power steering was not working on not to drive it!!!! Wow!! A broken headlight has disabled the entire vehicle. Do not buy this maintenance loving piece of s***!!
The technology is really perplexing and unnecessarily complicated. I rented a cheap Ford fiesta and I could just verbally say the address and go to it just like if you were to do with Google. How is it you can’t do that with this car?? And where did they get the idea, and for some reason Copied by other car companies that horrible mesh so-called pocket. It looks so cheap and cheesy it reveals everything you’re trying to hide and it even gets caught trying to stick things in it due to holes that the mesh creates - just awful on a luxury car. And let’s not forget the fabled horrible quality of a Mercedes-Benz after you spent how much money? And if I’m not mistaken I think you have to have a subscription just for remote start after spending this much money on a car? Not for me not at all

Seems like David is learning a bit more about cars. Not as clueless as he was in his first couple of vids.
