I love how he has moments of looking like he’s telling his favorite story. Like he is just as amazed as everyone else at the sounds coming from his guitar. He makes incredible, truly interesting music from a very pure source in his soul - a place of unbridled joy and wonder. I think Adrian Belew has one of the greatest creative minds humankind has ever produced. We’re lucky to have him.
Adrian you always seem to have a happy grin on yr face and that is a good good thing IMHO. I hope you are genuinely happy in yr life and the fact that you have such huge talent with a side of humility is what makes you "great". Rave on Adrian - a fan for life.
I just love the "isn't that cool" look he gets when he's totally immersed in the moment and catches someone's eye in the audience. I want to be Adrian Belew every time I watch him play. Weather it's his stuff with Bowie or Zappa or Talking heads and of course King Crimson, he's always having the best time in the room.
Such a humble, unpretentious man, he looks as if he has wandered in off the street, and yet the sounds he conjures! He is a master of the visionary, hi-tech guitar soundscape.
Probably THE greatest when it comes to innovations within the sound of electric guitar. And, by now, he practically "reinvented" the WAYS electric guitar is played, Repainted the Road, so to speak...
I remember this dude from when I first started playing as a kid. Listened to him, Jeff Beck, Al Demeola (?) Vai & Satch. Good to see him still banging around. He did a lot of cool stuff.
If the tune is called drive, he was definitely playing {"Within you Without you"} by the Beatles from 2:53 to 4:16 written by George Harrison, but It also seemed ,sounded like maybe the entire tune was "Within you Without you", just done in a different style. Does any body agree? Peace and health.
I agree that he was playing within you without you on the time stamp you put, but I disagree that the whole song was just a rendition of within you without you. Strong influence absolutely
I happen to catch Adrian in Prague a couple years ago and bought a Maxx fly to get away from that weird hook. Why can't I sound this good..oh yeah this guy would do this same show on a Squire..
Surely U mean 2 say Daniel Lanois SOUNDS like Adrian Belew.Besides,Mr.Lanois forte is production.IMO the very best guitar work ever from Lanois, was in his early 80s band "Martha and The Muffins "on the smash album "Danseparc".Remember "Echo Beach" or "Women Around the World at Work "?✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🇨🇦
Kelly Jackson "Avant-garde"and true,Buckethead is "outside the solar system "but he is by No means a composer,in the same league as Adrian Belew. After careful study of the fundamentals of Mr.Head's writing style,I honestly don't believe he could play one of his "songs"in a set format twice. The nature of composition is at its rudiments;is 2 have a framework of chords and notes that are immutable.Buckethead has a few structural riffs 4 recognition and the rest is the incredible "IMPROVISATIONAL "techniques that are the core of his "songs".I personally think he is likely, the greatest "improvisational "guitarist EVER.But just ONCE,I would pay top dollar 2 see him play "Soothsayer"the SAME way TWICE.That is quintessential song writing and I have NEVER seen him do it ONCE.Buckethead is NOT a composer. He IS an improviser.🤔✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🇨🇦
Adrian was great without guitar pedals. It takes a very healthy brain to do what he does. He supercharged many bands Talking heads is one. All that's left is to do is burn our guitars on the BBQ.
Always a delight to watch Belew have fun sharing the joy he displays mastering his craft! Thank you, Adrian!

7:50 such a joy to watch this guy play. Playing in the top league for decades but still like the kid excited to show you his new guitar trick.
at that exact moment he looks at the public just like a kid!!!
I love it.... He looks like an accountant and plays like a freakin genius.... So glad he still tours!!
He could do my books anyday..
I had the pleasure of meeting Adrian at one of his shows. Total class act and just an unbelievable guitar player as well as an incredible vocalist.
brilliant! and a nod to 'within you and without you' from Sgnt Pepper. Beautiful playing.
BELEW...SIMPLY ONE OF THEE BEST !
I heard Elephant Talk probably in 1991 and as a seven year old - it was an epiphany to my ears.
Gorgeous.

Sounds fresh like NEU in the 70´s blended with good old Blues. Finest, creative, fun, most humble guitar player ever.

I just saw remain in light and claypools frog brigade the other day. Adrian was having a blast. Such a great show. I'm glad I got to see him finally!
I saw his 80s side project The Bears and indeed so happy that his bouncing seemed like floating.Indeed
So refreshing. Sounds, tones, mood, chord voicings, droning.
Adrian Belew never fails to STUN THE SENSES!! WOW!!
within and without you wow This guy plays like noone else!!!!
Such a humble, unpretentious man, he looks as if he has wandered in off the street, and yet the sounds he conjures! He is a master of the visionary, hi-tech guitar soundscape.
Musical MASTERMIND!😊
WOW !!
Adrian has a strong claim to being one of the greatest artist ever to play a guitar.
Probably THE greatest when it comes to innovations within the sound of electric guitar. And, by now, he practically "reinvented" the WAYS electric guitar is played, Repainted the Road, so to speak...
And without mind numbing scales....our creativity...
I’ll go along with that ✌️
He said , that he doesn't play guitar like normal guitar players and that he really didn't have any chordal vocabulary.
At 2:53 Within you, without you....by the Beatles... Incredible
Yep!
So this is "Drive" comping Beatles songs in it. Interesting. Super player.
The great Adrian
JImi Hendrix probably would have FAINTED if he could have heard this. ... MIND blowing Mastery! ... (and very humbling for any guitarist!)
A true master at work!
great guitar player and a great vocalist too!

So beautiful.

Best track on Pepper............... lovely Adrian.!
Todo lo que toca belew suena bien, agradable a los oídos incluso para las personas ajenas al rock.
Always growing, experimenting..
" then check out Parker guitars right here:"
LOL!
Master of tremolo.
Twang Bar King, truth in advertising
Talk about ‘innovation’,
good god.
Adrian is beyond the finest player ever
I happen to catch Adrian in Prague a couple years ago and bought a Maxx fly to get away from that weird hook. Why can't I sound this good..oh yeah this guy would do this same show on a Squire..
Nobody else sounds like Belew.
Never forget: it should be fun.
Love that song - so cool !
Wish those guitars were less $
love the George Harrison interlude
Jimmy Buffett is killing it
Amazing. Sounds a lot like Daniel Lanois!

Now that Jeff has gone Adrian is my whammy muse.
Brilliant, you can see why David Bowie used him , he liked guitarists with a different approach
Guy play’s a whammy bar like nobody’s business.
I ´m dreaming to a band with Adrian, Tony levin, Danny Carey and …. Steve vai, why not? It’s just a dream
We were talking.. Time to have play with McCartney!
Buckethead has long since taken avante guard electric playing beyond terrestrial bounds and outside the solar system

Maybe a little Always Crashing would be good?
too cool for school! ...he sounds like a horn
Great Beatles quote or is it just Harrison?
This guy reminds me of Hans Zimmer.

Was Jeff Beck influenced by this man?
I just don’t care for it. I’m old and now a headache . I can’t believe how difficult that is and how many beautiful songs you could have played?
Asta da chitara .
Ugh, my playing is so meat and potatoes.
I believe in simple stuff too.
