Wonderful comparison and review!! I own the Sigma 60-600 mm Sport paired with a Nikon Z8 and I can't complain. May I ask what you use for post processing and what recommendations you may have for adding music to images for playing back.
Thanks Actually i dont have one I do birding handheld but planning to get tripod In middleeast tripod birding is not much favourable Mostly we do from car But you are right for such test tripod should be there
Your pick on which of these two lenses performed better seems to be based on taste and personal preference. Personally I think the Sigma 60-600 came out on top for sharpness, dynamic range and overall clarity. When it comes to sharpness, it's clear as day to my eye that the Sigma lens crushed the Nikkor. Maybe something is lost in compression on RUclips? If you look at the eyes of the puppet you will see red highlights in the white/reflective part of the eye on the Nikkor lens. The Sigma rendered this area perfectly. Did you use a tripod for these shots, or just hand held? Doing a sharpness test without a tripod, on a zoom lens at the long end, has the added factor of hand shake and really throws more into the random number generator as far as outcome.
I believe you are right on some point because sigma being heavy and handhold still did a great job. I didn't used tripod as seen in a video because it's tested just like shoot birds, don't have a tripod . But images from Nikkor are little pleasing to eyes idk why and sigma is doing great too.
Thanks for the review! Please tell me how well sigma works with z8? How big is the difference in accuracy and speed of focusing and stabilization between Nikon and Sigma? I myself shoot at 60-600 and sometimes think about changing to 180-600, but it’s so convenient to have an additional 60-180 without changing lenses, especially when you shoot not only animals, but also landscapes.
Well , both are incrediblely sharp And out perform each other at some spots But images from Nikkor look good to eyes May be they are well processed Apart from that sigma is sometime pain to shoot ,it's heavy as I mostly do handhold and use no tripod Nikkor is very handy n light and internal zoom is good when shooting from Car which I mostly do for birds
I will not disagree but overall rendering is better on Nikkor. Sigma is very sharp I agree gives tough competition but overall image looks kinda complete on Nikon basically due to nativity
You will actually feel no difference ,I took it to Malaysia in dark forest , sometimes sigma was better in focus . And in videos it's also amazing ,sports I don't do but I assure you it will not let you down ,just it's heavy and no internal zoom. With the time iv realized that ,sigma keeps it's name As iv used both.
@@worldandthewild Oh, thank you for your answer! I concern about using F-Mount lens via adapter. If it’s not difference from using Z-Mount directly, I would buy Sigma 60-600 because of its versatile focal length.
hi thx for your comparison but which one would you choose or recommend for wildlife videos as the main focus with some photography as a second importance. thx ps be nice to see some video with the 60-600 on your z8
ok ill try to post a video with 60-600mm actually, the image sharpness is mostly on par but in videos ill definately say that Nikkor has advantage because it has more stops which means more stabilize videos. but ill try to do a video comparison too thanks for suggestion. just have to find time out from my work routine :)
@@worldandthewild thx be a nice comparison to see theres also no videos with the 60-600 on Nikon with the adapter so you could get some more views if you make more content on it
Thank you 🙏🏼 I'm also interested to see a review of the 60-600 E-mount with the 3rd party adapter on Z8. Im very happy with my F-mount 60-600 and the acknowledged it may not be as sharp but the flexibility is what I prefer
I wish that you put it against the sky to see what the difference in chromatic aberration is. But, thanks for your video. Guess that I won't replace the Sigma right now.
Thank you,@@worldandthewild! Everything else in my gear bag is Nikon and the only complaint that I have with the Sigma is that. If the 180-600 is an improvement, then I might be able to justify swapping lenses.
That it is, but I already own it and have used it with great results for the past couple of years,@@worldandthewild. Thanks for your video. I'm just trying to see if I can justify having a smaller throw ring and a bit less chromatic aberration.
@@pinakit_wildlife nope , i still have and sometimes Sigma 60-600mm blows away the IQ as compared to Nikkor. I still have Dslrs with me so im keeping it and its build quality and arca swiss plate is advatnge In some cases
I thank you for your effort but your comparison lacks validity because you had an uncontrolled variable when doing your test. The variable I am speaking of is the fact that you hand-held versus using a tripod.
@@j.brianbobiak12 yea I understand your point , this was because I mostly do handheld for mobility so I just made this comparison . In future ,I'll try to make a tripod one in video as the weather settles
hey there. One piece of advice about grammar. When you want to compare two things, you should use the word "as" two times in the sentence. Here's an example: The Nikon lens is not AS heavy AS the sigma lens. I hear you saying things like "the Nikon lens is not very well built AS the Sigma lens." when I hear that I can't tell that it is a comparison until the end of the sentence, so I think you are saying the Nikon lens is not very well built, then I realize what you meant when you finish the sentence. It makes it a little harder to understand.

Thanks ,I use Lightroom for post processing and if the images get a bit more noisy then I use the DXO pure raw .
Sometimes even Topaz denoise
Sorry the music part I didn't get it
Usually I use free background music's for my videos
Thank you!!
How is the continuous AF with that combo? I have Z8 and looking to pick up Sigma as well.
@@arsalanuljamil6840 well both r very good and I dnt find any issues in AF at all even using FTZ .

One request...mount them on tripods to ensure there is no shakes next time.
