Excellent tool and video making the job simple .... Thank you! For information, if you look at the top of the tensioner spring (before using the tension release tool) and can't see the 1st hole then your belt needs changing, the 1st hole is an indicator!
Easy enough to do without the tool(if you haven’t got it and can’t wait to get one delivered) just put a socket over the top bolt (to balance the ply bar on makes it abit easier) where you would put the tool into and put screw in the the hole at the bottom and use a ply bar
Used your tool and it was great. Can recommend that you slacken off the undercover on the driver side to get to the bottom of the crankshaft pulley. It makes a lot easier. Good video!
On the 2007 R56 motor where the pin is to put the tensioner in service mode there is a bolt in a star shape (12 point?). Slip a box end of a 21mm wrench over it and pull towards the radiator It won't need much but hold that wrench and you should be able to easily push the pin in releasing the tension on the tensioner pulley and get the belt out pretty easy
Hey please I need help! I changed a couple of days a go the alternator belt. I removed the lower vent valve connection 1:52 / 4:30 but i forgot to put it back.I started the engine for couple of minutes withe the new belt and I heared a strange noise . I checked the engine and realised that was the connection that I have forgot. I put it on and after 3 seconds the engine turned off and wont start again. Pleaasee heeelp. Well if you can put a video showing how to do it without the tool that would be cool ( OK i will loose some sales but happy to not sell something that is not needed ). I did try and do this myself without a special tool as i hate spending money but despite my degree in engineering i could not do it so had this tool produced... I am ready to to humbled sir !

Different pullies on the sc though effect belt length . Theres a stock pulley. Jcw 11% , 15% , 17% and I think theres even a 19% custom pulley too
Great video. Thank you.
Hi mate! Great video thanks. Can you tell us the distance from the hole to the scalloped edge in the tool? This would be very usefull for me. ;)

Hi - try to disconnect the battery and leave for 10 minutes then try to start again - this sometimes clears the ECU errors ?
Simon
i tried that so many times . Can that being a wrong timing chain after changing the belt ?
maybe you damaged the wiring for the cranks sensor

powerfulukltd im mechanic so I always work with what I got. I used pry bar.but I do have idea for your tool to keep not slid from bolt
Yes it does slip off the pivot bolt - how can we improve - weld a washer in that area ?
I replaced the belt by removing the tensioner all together just unbolting it.

Timing belt??????
Hi - Sorry this is the video for the auxiliary drive belt - not the timing belt.
Obviously not, Ben. It's a chain driven engine.
@@CosmicPrawny calm down mate. 6 years ago this video was wrongly titled and I was referring to that.
