Update folks! I’ve had several comments since posting this, that the M3000 often has issues jamming after 500-1000 shots. BUT, I did some research and it turns out the good news is that it’s most often an easy and inexpensive fix. The culprit is usually the extractor, which can be upgraded to the Benelli OEM. Found several RUclips vids showing the procedure. Very simple and a $25 fix. Most people go ahead and upgrade the extractor spring as well and they sometimes come as a kit together. Hope this helps. Happy shooting 💨 -Stagger
Well it's to be expected as a stoeger is owned by Benelli. They started off making Benelli clones, more or less. They were so good they caught the eye of Benelli. So they bought them. I know there are a lot more details then that, but this is a RUclips comment. So the funny thing is, a lot of the lower tier Benelli shotguns are actually made by stoeger and so are some of the parts for other models.
I have 2 browning a5’s 12 ga and 16 both purchased in the mid to late 30s by great grandfather. I keep wanting to get a shotgun but they both just work . I’ve idiot cracked the forends through the years but they just work. Triggers are amazing No telling how many deer these things have put down between my great grandfather , grandfather, father, and I’ve only taken 1 with em. Just to carry on the legacy.
Ive had mine over a year and couldnt be more pleased. Thats even from paying the $629.99 at my local academy and still my favorite shotgun ive ever shot
Stoeger makes a nice str9s combat, comes suppressor ready with high rise sights and flared mag well one of my favorite edc set ups out there. Over all they are a great company
Issues come with QC, got an M3K a couple months ago and the rear threaded holes on the receiver for the picatinny mount are bored too wide so the screws just fall in, so the rail itself isn’t very straight, the rib rail SEEMS to be slightly bent and the stoeger extractors break a lot more easily, but can be swapped out with benelli extractors. Mechanically the gun functions fantastically, but it’s up in the air whether or not you get a good one or a lemon.
I love consistency in a shotgun. My first shotgun i bought when i was 18 was a 500 Mossberg 18 inch barrel it never had any problems shooting unless it was a 3" shell
Same with me always reliable never had a problem At all with mine an litterally no telling how many deer iv killed with that gun along with doves an other creeders.
I’ve had my M3000 for about 6 years now, used it exclusively every waterfowl season and every time I’ve shot trap. Never cleaned it a single time and I can count on one hand every malfunction I’ve had. They’re amazing guns regardless of the price.
Have the all black one. I absolutely love it for deer hunting. That fiber optic sight is nice and big so you can really put it right where you want it on a deer.
I have a M3000 Sporting, and absolutely love it. It is my skeet, trap, and sporting clays competition gun and it has never failed me (once I put an M2 extractor in it). Amazing price, and it’s gotten through 600 round competitions with ease.
Get that boy a proper left handed gun! I went without one for 40 years. It is amazing how much easier it all is with my left handed semi auto now. Well worth the price of admission.
Picked up mine this morning. Besides the fibre optic sight turning itself into a ghost ring after about 10 rounds its awesome. Not a single failure in a little over 100 rounds today.
My $189 Dickinson semi auto is made almost identical to this and its inertia driven the same way. The thing actually works pretty dang good. Loved it so much, I bought a $120 Dickinson pump to hang beside it. The pump works just as good as most Mossbergs. There's one company in Turkey that makes all of these shotguns like Dickinson, Citadel and few others. They're literally almost all the same. The trouble with them is finding parts and accessories.
Buy you a couple extra extractor and extractor springs and change them every year and it’ll be a great gun. Only issues I’ve had with mine is a worn down extractor. Love this gun
I’ve been shooting my Stoeger for years and it’s just been one of my favorite guns. It’s cheap, but it’s been reliable. It’s killed birds, it’s competed in sket and trap shoots and it’s performed awesome against way more expensive guns. Never any jams or misfires great gun IMO
I recently bought myself a M3500 waterfowl shotgun. Works great! The only issue I had was when the bolt was slightly out of battery, and I had 10 ducks right in front of me.
Another that is basically the same and also made by Benelli is the Franchi affinity 3. Same inertia system as the stoger and I've got a little over a thousand heavy dove loads through mine with absolutely zero issues.
I have a stoeger m3500 and I’ve had the exact same experience, keep it as clean as a duck gun can be(which isn’t very clean, considering the abuse they take) and it will never give you any problems.
I’ve got a Stoeger M3500 I use for Turkey and Waterfowl. It doesn’t do well with low brass. Specifically older low brass. It will not cycle well. Will cycle anything else like a champ though. Awesome guns for the price.
Looks like a solid first gun to me. I remember my first gun and dove hunting was LIFE!! So much fun!! Especially on opening day. You could definitely tell when noon hit cause just out of nowhere, shotgun blasts all at once in every direction 😂😂😂 my first was a single shot though. Definitely taught me shot decipline. I had to make my shot count lol.
My buddy has one he duck hunts with. Minnesota fall/winters can be a test on your guns. I've noticed if you get a little moisture around that gun it quits ejecting. 15 degrees with snow? Forget it, leave that thing home or only load 1 shell at a time.
Years ago we bought a bunch for our store most came back with ejection issues, stoger fixed that, now I have a 3500 I believe it shoots the 3&1/2" monsters but $300 for a solid shotgun you can't beat them,
Just picked this up a couple months back and I love it! Was slightly concerned it wouldn’t be high quality but it is a great shotgun none the less for $500
Stronger and canik are my Firearms’s of choice. Most people don’t know this, but the people running the company were Aerospace engineers. if you can engineer a space shuttle a gun should be no problem
I used an M3k with a 32" ported barrel for skeet in high school. I put over a thousand rounds through it before needing to replace the springs on it. Only issue it ever had was it wouldn't eject towards the tail end of that thousand rounds
I remember Stoeger back when I had hair! I can’t remember when value priced products equated to taste! I would have three bronze Stoegers if one broke I’d still have a new one and shells as well. Lots of them.
The most important about shotguns for hunting is how it fits you. If you buy an expensive gun and you can’t get your eyes down the barrel on it you’ll have a hard time shooting. I was going to get a m3000 9year at a gun store..The gun salesman recommended getting the Benelli montefeltro.I got the benelli best shotgun i ever owned. He the m3000 was having issues at that time.
Unfortunately it's not true. The quality of the A400 as far as QC has gone to shit. Once you gave them a good cleaning and got all of that fit grease off of them oh, they ran just as good as any Benelli or Beretta
I learned how to duck hunt with a stoeger, dropped in the lakes a couple times and always fired after a little clean out. Great gun to start with. I did get lucky to upgrade to a SBE1 lefty a couple years back. I really hope it's the last duck gun I will need, it's perfect
I bought an M3500 and basically only shot 3in and 3 1/2 in through it for 5 years, well across the 10k mark on it. Only complaint is that when you’re snow goose hunting and just spraying and preying the hammer will drop before the bolt goes all the way home leading to a jam. But for 650 couldn’t complain
I have a P-3000. Best shotgun I've ever had. It has zero recoil. I have the tactical version with the folding stock and pistol grip, although I don't like the knob on the stock, it's a bit bulky and awkward around the handgrip. My KSG, however, about took my shoulder off when I fired that. It kicks like a roided up mule.
Stoeger is the Taurus of the shotgun world. I've had the M3500 for 7 years now and I've had only 2 hiccups in it from not cleaning it for 3-4 of those years. Absolutely love mine. I know there are better shotguns out there but I cant bring myself to get rid of this one.
My buddy was rocking the SBE but I didn’t want to drop the $1700 for one and went with the m3500 and it shoots practically the same. I have only cleaned it once and is always covered in mud. I have had zero issues with mine. 300-400 shots through it. Mainly a waterfowl gun and have shot skeet and trap with it as well.
Same here brother!! We actually had some crazy plan to have it hydro-dipped camo…but by the time we got it home we loved it just the way it was! -Stagger

Got me a m3500 for waterfowl literally have drug it through the mug and last season actually got pebbles and smaller rocks in the action. After clearing the shell that got stuck an and literally dunking everything in the marsh muck water. Didn’t have a single malfunction and preformed beautifully. My knot grove with it is how heavy the trigger is but I can get over that for a gun that can go into marsh much fully and come out perfectly ok

or just buy a mossberg 9200 used for half the price.
Now that boy just needs a really good bird dog
Most cheaper guns period especially rifles can run very reliably after just a few modifications. The first of which is the extractor and spring.
