Thanks Joe! The niggles havent really gone so im re-evaluating my race and just going out to have some fun. Time has gone out the window really as the hammy and calf are still sore. Will just take it as it comes and what will be will be. Im setting off around 10:30 and will be wearing my club top, same as in my channel art, shout if you see me and ill pop over and say hi
Best of luck in London. I also signed up to Runna from watch the videos and managed 10 weeks of a marathon plan but sadly injury has taken over and won’t be doing my one in a few weeks time
Same with me my aim was sub 5 hour but I had to reduce my 4 day plan to 3 due to a reoccuring calf strain. It is also my first ever marathon so my goal is to enjoy it and bring back that medal!
@@gimoruns thank you! And thank you for keeping us updated with your running journey, it’s been lovely to follow! I also use Runna and can’t wait to start training again post marathon
@@sophiebennettdiplcm8236 glad you’ve enjoyed the videos, it’s always hard to know if anyone will enjoy my ramblings lol!! Lots of exciting videos coming up too 😊
Good luck mate. Can I ask, do you stick to the easy pace Runna expects? Seems too fast to me and I am never sure whether to try and do all my runs at the pace they want
I usually run to hear rate to be honest. Runna isnt 100% accurate with my personal pacing so for my easy runs im generally running to my own heart rate zones.
Oh no, nightmare. I dont want to pour negativity on it, and your situaiton might be eaiser to sort, but ive never really got rid of them. They come back every time i have an intenstive block, like marathon training. My advice would be to go see someone to do a gait analysis, see if its something you can fix with shoes, form or S&C. Focus on buikding strength, or fixing pronation or getting the right type of shoe. Thats the first few things id do if i were you.
Best of luck for Sunday mate! Hope I’ll be able to see you running around!!

Currently 2 weeks away from my first marathon, and have shin splints! How did you deal with yours?
