The progression of Sarah's times over the last few years is inspiring
riiiight?! I'm so impressed!
And Sarah still claims to be an average runner! 😂
As a slow runner, imposter syndrome is just a fact of life. Still doesn't stop me from training to be a little bit faster
I feel ya! Fellow slow runner here!
Another member of the club here, too. Go us!
What I love about this channel is it's real! It's not a social media post about how easy running or keeping fit is, it's real life. It's work, it's fatigue, it's family, it's fitting it around all of that. Great video!
I’m recovering from a hip injury and went for my first run today and managed 20 minutes pain free!! I could have cried, it’s amazing how much running does for you
Just started my running journey at 43 years old. I have to admit I don’t know why it took me so long. The running community is so welcoming and supportive. I’ve got the Edinburgh half marathon in May in my sights then work my way up to a full marathon 🏃👟😰
Good half marathon course. Hope you ace it.
There is no shame in not building up to a marathon if after the half you feel like a marathon is too much or it's hard to fit the training needed for one in your daily life. I've been doing Track & Field and Running for 24 years and my furthest distance I raced is a 15k. It doesn't always need to go further, sometimes faster than before is also an amazing goal to get to.
Just putting that out there as one of the main reactions I get when people heard I've been running for that long, is confusion as to why I've not run a marathon yet. As if you always need to go further until you do a marathon instead of focusing on beating your PB's.
Good luck, Sarah! You’re one of the most down to earth runners on RUclips and I hope I can get to your level one day! I’m training for my first official half marathon in Derby.
Sarah, I hope you realize how much of an inspiration you are for thousands of us. I’ve somehow been able to work my way up to half marathons over the last couple of years. Your channel and presenters made me realize I could do it. I’m going to attempt the full Melbourne marathon in October at the age of 52. At the moment it feels impossible after coming back from spine surgery late last year and being unable to run for 3 months. It’s been a very long and painful come back to running but your channel has kept me motivated. Thank you so much.
“I stopped just trying to do everything and took a step back, and looked at what was more reasonable.” Really needed to hear that
Glad it came at a good time
My prediction for London: you will end up being chased to a PB by a group of runners dressed like dinosaurs!
And Zebras.
Tyler Speers!
And lion
Just did the Sheffield Half. My first half in 15 years. Set a PB in under two hours on a hilly course which is good for me. I was overtaken my a bloke in a minion suit though 😂
You are going to smash a PB, get emotional and say “I don’t know why I’m getting emotional” 😊
I’m training for GB Ultras Beacons Way 100k I will certainly be emotional 😂 very hard fitting in training around work and family!
I'm running my first 5k this year. Sarah keep on proving those doubts in the back of your mind wrong, you got this!
Good decisions made! Enjoyed this clip so much! A dream come true, I will be running in London later this year and seeing you running along the Thames was so exciting. Good luck with the rest of your marathon training!
Sarah you are literally so inspiring! I hear your voice when I'm struggling on my runs - 'do a form check' or 'what is your WHY for running' and it SERIOUSLY gets me through! I think this marathon is yours for sure!!
Hi Sarah, I'm 15 and I have been really trying to get a sub 20 minute 5km and I tried runner for 2 weeks and it really helped I'm saving up to get the subscription I love watching these videos it gives me so much motivation to get out and run I would love to win that competition 😉 ( ps. I'm glad you liked Dublin as I living in Ireland)
Cool. Im 17 and hoping to get a sub 20 this year. Whats your pb. I haven't followed any training plans like runna. Did you find it helped alot? Would you recommend it? Thanks.
Young people being nice to each other on the internet?! I don't think I've ever seen this before. It's beautiful.
@@dansurf828 my pb so far is 22 its so hard to break the 20 outside (I have done 18mins on the treadmill but I dont count it unless I'm outside )
@@dansurf828 I've only tried runner for a little bit but it's really nice to have a structure to follow
This video 👏
I'm currently half way through training for my first marathon at the end of May & the absolute overwhelm I'm feeling is something I was not prepared for.
Thank you for being so honest about the off days & highlighting how real they are.
You're going to absolutely nail London!
Love this video, thank you for sharing! Some super helpful relatable tips and love the fit checks too 😍
Love this vid and channel so much! Currently training for my first ever marathon in August and do all my training on Clapham Common which to my amusement I see a lot of in the vids on this channel. Best of luck with the London Marathon and cheers for all the top quality vids.
Sarah, I have been watching your Amsterdam series after discovering the channel recently. I'm so happy there's a newer series! You're so inspiring!
My prediction is that you'll smash it and I'll cry when I watch the video of you doing it 😂
Good luck Sarah! I’ve just started watching this channel, I turned 40 a few weeks ago and decided to sign up for a 5k race having never run before in my life. I’m using my Garmin training plan to do the ‘couch to 5k’ type plan. This channel has been a great motivator when I really don’t feel like doing my run that day. I hope your marathon goes well and you never know, maybe one day I might even attempt a marathon.
I’m looking forward to running London in a few years. The thing I enjoy about you and the rest of the team is the realistic manner you all portray your training and runs. Rather than just showing everything as perfect.
The feelings as well as the ups and downs are relatable and helps to inspire.
I am not sure there is any better feeling in the world than finishing a super long run. Great work Sarah, it's great to see the ups and downs of training so honestly described.
Love your enthusiasm! Training for my first half marathon...
Good luck Sarah!! Love watching your videos. I’m currently training for Manchester 😀
Thanks Sarah, Andy, Anna and Mo, along with the reat of the team including those behind the scenes for the running channel. When i first started, the first month i couldnt get past 1.2km. 3 months later im doing parkruns and increase my long runs by about 10 percent each week. Last night i done 12k after a 12 hour shift at work. All the tips and tricks off this channel has helped immensely. Im doing a quarter marathon event as my first "race" this month, and in September my dad wants me to run with him in the Dunedin half marathon, and im well on track to achieve it - just got to introduce a few hills in my training! Eeeeek!
Love you all.
Your training progress is inspiring! Well done on keeping it real and the best of luck for London marathon.
Currently training for my first Ultra, with 2 kids and work I lack motivation sometimes but knowing I’m not the only one and that it isn’t a bad thing really helps.
Same... minus the kids, but plus a farm full of demanding animals. 😅 So far behind in my training... good luck to you!
@@Kelly_Ben thanks!
Animals can be just as demanding as kids!! Good luck with your training 😊
wow
Same plus one kid. Final three weeks are madness...60-80km weeks. Bring on taper.
@@suzyandrew5995 lots of early starts for those longer runs!!
Keep at it Sarah, you're knocking it out of the park!
Great video as always! Good luck for London💪🤩
I love watching you Sarah. You are so relatable and keep it real. I hope you have a great marathon as you really deserve it with the training you have put in. You are also an inspiration with how far you have come in the past few years with your times. Good luck!
Good luck Sarah! You're going to smash the London marathon
Good luck Sarah! Doing great so far
Well done! Great video as always! Best of luck for London, I’m sure you’ll smash it!
Good luck Sarah. Loving the content and honesty from you and the team. Inspires me to keep running, even I the more difficult days
You got this Sarah!
PB in London for sure!!
See you in London Sarah 🎉 looking forward to my 8th marathon, my first major!!
You're doing great Sarah! Training for my second marathon and love watching your videos to keep me motivated 😊
Good luck Sarah! I really appreciate the authenticity you bring to running! It's inspired me so much.
Good luck Sarah!
I love the channel. You inspired me, and I've learned so much more about running!!
Great job this week, Sarah! I'm also training for London at the moment, and I can very much relate to having feelings of losing my mojo. Thank you for the video, it helps to know I'm not alone in having my doubts in training! I'll just keep moving forward and trust that the hard work will pay off at the finish line.
You've got this, Sarah!! Thank you for sharing lows as well as highs! I'm always inspired by how you embrace the most grueling challenges. Best of luck with the marathon!
Interesting that you felt so strong after a couple days rest. I feel like if you go into the marathon fully recovered, you’re gonna kill it.
Thank you for this video! Having recently started a full-time job really messed with my marathon training.. Seeing the way you handled this week is soo helpful and a great reminder to be kind to myself when not everything goes according to plan :) Best of luck at the London marathon and I am sure that you will smash it and have a great time doing so 🎉
I loved watching this video so much! I also had a bad week with knee struggles, sickness and a lot of stress, but I really hope my run of tomorrow will get me back in the flow. Good luck Sarah! You got this!
Love your work Sarah!! Good luck with London!
smashing it! Good luck for the London Marathon!!
I love these videos. You always inspire me to get out and pound those streets! Thanks so much and keep up the great work.
Love this channel; the mix of a passion for running plus pragmatics of fitting it into daily life.
Love this Sarah. Well done on being brave enough to make the right decision for you x❤🎉
Love the change in your week Sarah, I agree we all often get frustrated and demotivated thinking we can’t do the weeks training ahead, a simple step back and adjusting things can give us a big lift!!!
Love watching your journey. The highs, the lows and the in between. Keep going :)
Good luck for London Sarah and thank you for the genuine comments about your training. So good to learn what the training is actually like. All the best!
Thanks for taking us along on your journey so transparently! You're going to ace your marathon :)
Fantastic video!!! Just had a crap week of not enough running and this should have been week 1 of training for my first ultra!!! So motivational to see your progression. Best of luck for London and enjoy every minute 🥰
Thanks for sharing! This definitely inspired me to find ways to get through the hard weeks
sarah you're doing amazing! it's really inspiring to me
I really enjoyed this. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing how you do! I find these videos very motivating.
Nicely done, Sarah! I'm currently training for my first ever marathon in June and also got somewhat of a dip in my mojo, feels good to know it happens to the best of us. Keep on with the good work!
Amazing video, Sarah! Good luck with your training and I hope you get your new marathon PB.🏃
Thanks to you Sarah, I downloaded the Runna app last week and signed up to a couch to 5k 9week program with a local running club. Watching the channel has really motivated me to just get out there. Good luck with the Marathon, you've got this 💪🏻
Way to go Sarah! I’ve signed up for my first marathon this fall and this channel is super helpful!
Honest up and downs of training sessions were helpful. Learning when to listen to my body and when to push through I'm still trying to figure out.
Loved the park run idea in the middle of a long run! Best wishes for London and the rest of training!
I really love the videos you share that show the struggles behind running and training for specific goals - it helps me feel not so alone when I struggle too. I've been really unmotivated the last few weeks and haven't been running, I find consistency so hard when other parts of my life become stressful and demanding but seeing others talk openly about their 'failures' helps me realise that its just part of the process and it isn't the end of the world ❤
Well done Sarah. Love the honesty and outlook. Keep at it 👏🏼
This was such a relatable video! You're awesome Sarah! I'm training for Stockholm Marathon and you inspire me to keep pushing and showing up for myself.
Good Luck Sarah !
Enjoying hearing about your efforts - and it is reassuring as well :)
Found you guys a few months ago, and love your video’s! Thanks voor sharing ❤
Great work! I’m doing my first half marathon this Sunday. Trained with runna app it’s amazing!
Really like your content. You show us what you go through and make it really relatable. I really liked training for Tokyo this year.
Well done Sarah, these kind of videos always motivate me to get out the front door. Can't wait to see how you get on at London
So inspired by your diligence, commitment and honesty. I love that you keep pushing yourself. I'm hoping for a half marathon pb later this year, after a rib injury in January.
Great job, Sarah! Inspiring as always:)
Enjoying your videos! and encouraged to kick it up past 2 miles
Sarah’s videos are always my favourites on this channel.
I’ve used Runna last year and it has the best mix of runs in a training block that I've ever seen. This part months life really got on the way of my training but I'm hoping to get back to the back soon!
So inspired by your marathon training and overall positive attitude! To have a bad week and still do 4 runs and Pilates is amazing, you got this 💪💪💪
Good luck Sarah. It’s great to hear women talking about how their period can affect their physical and mental motivation. Keep up the fantastic work - these videos have been essential getting me running again after a five year break.
Go Sarah! Thanks for the inspiration in my own running goals. You’re going to kill it!
You make it look so easy and your enthusiasm is infectious. I'm lacing up my shoes right now! 😊😊
Love these training diaries, keep them coming.
So inspiring! It’s great to see the reality that motivation can be a struggle and even you don’t always feel the best.
Great to see how you were able to manage the low motivation and bounce back! Needed the inspiration this week.
Love seeing Sarah tackling the same issues I have and overcome them. It motivates me to be more consistent and get back on track.
You're going to shine on London Marathon day.
Always like watching! You are doing great!
This is such a useful video. Thanks! I'm sure you'll smash the marathon 😊
Thank you for all the motivation and being real!
You're doing so well! I totally get that feeling of having no motivation, but in the end it's always good to try and if it's not working, it is ok to stop. It's still a hobby and it's good to listen to your body :)
Watching this video made me feel very good about myself since I am a mom of the toddler work full-time and try to get my marathon training in it’s difficult. Sometimes we always find the courage to keep moving. Thank you for all that you do.
You’re killing it! Keep up the hard work!
You're such an inspiration and genuinely nice person. I've got some runs in September. One is a distance that I have never done. This video has inspired me to keep training. Thanks Sarah!
Fantastic effort. Doing Brighton marathon this year, but looking forward to cheering everyone on for London. Go Sarah!
Really great insight Sarah! You are going to absolutely smash the marathon!
I love your podcast and videos! I'm going to be training for the NYC Marathon this year :) good luck at London!
Great video, always a relief to see other runners struggling with motivation some days too 😅 training for my first marathon this year!
I am doing my first half-marathon in Melbourne, Australia in October! I'm very excited. Love watching Sarah's training journey, it's very encouraging and so great she normalises having weeks where you just don't feel like it!
Go Sarah! I’m training for a 10-miler PR and am feeling the overwhelm and doubt set in this week as well, so I needed this one. We’ve got this!
This channel helps me a lot, getting geared up for Brighton in 4 days time, am scared, feeling every niggle in my body, but determined to get to the start line with a smile. Thanks for your inspiration
Thank you Sarah for being "real" when it comes to training. I'm starting half marathon training on Monday & it's my 1st one!
Great running Sarah- enjoying your journey- good luck for London 🍀
Thanks for sharing your week with the ups and downs. This past week felt like a wash to me but I’m excited to get back to it!
I’m aiming for a trail half marathon this fall and struggle with feeling motivated for the longer runs so this video was both relatable and inspiring. You’re doing great Sarah - keep going!!
Great video. It's great seeing how much you have improved as a runner
I appreciate you showing the week struggling with motivation. Glad to know I'm not alone when I struggle with motivation sometimes
