My name is Dmitri, i live on the Gold Coast Australia. I remember a tingling sensation i would experience when i was young, as i grew i found i could trigger the experience when i found the right set stimuli like the tone of a person's voice, gentle massage, watching someone focus on a task. This was before video and internet were in the same thought range. Over time i found and experienced many different situations to learn about all the different triggers for ASMR. I translated that experience & combined some innate ability to help people experience it with the high quality studio recordings to bring the highest quality tingles i can.
ASMR is a tingly feeling the commonly felt in the scalp area and often down the back and other parts of the body. ASMS is commonly experienced through a soft spoken or whispering voice, ear to ear sounds or binaural sounds, watching or experience massage, plus a Variety of sounds like tapping crinkle scratching.
Some of the benefits of ASMR might be sleep relaxation reduce stress and anxiety
I specialize in no talking ASMR video's focusing on ASMR sounds, i try to create different video for all the different preferences people have. Some of my role plays are based in fictional characters like Dr Dmitri & Manwelle
I loved watching massage video to experience ASMR so i like to create video to replicate these experiences with other, like head massage, back massage for total body relaxation.
What is ASMR ? A theory
When your cranial nerves receives information in the form of sight, sounds & Senses your brain may process this information as let us say a "trigger" When you cranial nerves find that perfect combination of "Triggers" it activates the full effect of the parasympathetic nervous system almost like a symphony neurons hitting the perfect note as wave after wave of feelings cascades down the nervous system down the spine and to many parts of the body
I believe it may then releases one or more of: oxytocin, acetylcholine, GABA, Serotonin, endorphins directing into the brain and blood stream Instantly relaxing, clearing cortisol, adrenaline and soothes the body.
There is another side effect of this symphony that it puts the brain into a alpha state and after the person falls asleep allows them to access a deeper delta level state during sleep.
This theory idea was put forward to me by a very special person, i believe they have a insight and understanding of ASMR that even i do not have.

When I first saw your videos I was a bit skeptic about them but now they're the only thing I listen to before I go to sleep

I usully never bother watching videos - instead, I just let them keep playing in the background while I read or simply lay in my bed trying to sleep. Your videos are the ONLY ones who keep me fascinated so much that I HAVE to watch them. They are perfection! The inaudibles here and there, the visuals, just your own personality and way of making ASMR! If Bob Ross is the founder of ASMR, then you have to be the king and master of it. In my opinion, there has never been someone better than you - and there will never be!
Your work is truly, truly the best thing I can imagine, making me sleep no matter what troubles me. I fall asleep due to videos very rarely but yours make my eyes close themselves just after some minutes! Thank you for your work :)

You might be interested to know that my blood pressure had dropped *significantly* since watching your videos. I'm serious. I haven't changed any other aspects of my lifestyle (diet, exercise, etc.). I've just made a habit of watching your videos. If that's not a reason for the ongoing scientific study of ASMR, I don't know what is.

Nadia Sandborn Reading this, I went perusing into Web of Science (scientific publication database) to see if there was scientific articles on the subject... Only to realize that ASMR is also the acronym for Age-Standardized Mortality Rate xD
But I agree it would be very interesting to do some research on ASMR impact.
Sometimes you just have to find the right tingle. I also found that I experience different tingles when watching different ASMR artist.

Hmmm. I've had one do that to me. It was a sleep aid role play. But it could be a different form of tingles. Sometimes I don't get tingles and other times I Do. I know I had to branch out because I was getting used to Dimitri, but now I'm back and playing catch up with his videos. Asmr is werid. Lol I've even thought about doing some videos, because my fiancee laughs at me when I rub the tea bag like Dimitri does to the ginger kiss tea. XD

Please make another video with the head/face massage with the brush. It was by far one of my favorite videos as well as being extremely relaxing. I would love it if you played around with the crinkle box or just a similar box in general. The combination of your microphones and the echo with the fiddling with the box makes a great sound!

Dmitri, you should use an unopened pack of cards with the plastic still covering it. It makes a sound similar to the silver soap. Hope you read this!

Three things I wanted to say:
1. First of all, great video, like always.
2. An idea for the cards would be to take one in your hand and turn it slowly in your hands, starting close to the mic and then slowly bring it away, I feel like that would make a great sound. You did that same sound before with the Rode Packets in the first Old School ASMR video you did a while back.
3. Great job on the video quality lately, really like the sound of the new microphones!

iv found that, for me at least, ASMR sounds so much better when its naturally really quiet, and then the volume is turned way up. i have no idea why.
There's definitely a sweet spot volume wise. Dimitri seems to work closer to the microphones, so his videos don't need to be cranked as loud.

Some of your videos remind me of a movie character's way of relaxing, where he would close his eyes, lay back, and very slowly begin ripping paper. I believe the movie was called "Langaleers" or something.. Anyway, maybe the sound of that could be changed around by using tracing paper, thicker papers, and maybe even damp or wet paper. Just thought I'd throw the idea, in case you'd like to give it a go/try.
