I am crushed with disappointment to not see the completed boat on the water. I'm crying as I write this and am beside myself in sorrow. All these episodes and no reveal. But I'll still give it a "like".
Thank you. I know. I have sent so many boats home to customers over the years and never even get a finished photo for myself other than when it is in the shop. I should get this customer to send me some on water video to close out the series.
I only learned about this boat today after watching the Tally Ho series, where Leo purchased an assembled PT11 for the Tally Ho - but yeah, I was also disappointed there was no video of the finished boat, even just sitting in the shop.
@@bdshort , I found it hilarious the Leo appears to have bought a completed PT instead of building his own. Compared to TallyHo, he should be able to build a PT over his lunch break. I can't help but assume there was a bro-deal or product placement deal behind that new dinghy.
Hello Rod, I follow the construction of the dinghy from the beginning. I'm from Germany, I'm about your age and never had English at school, my English is autodidact, so I did not understand everything, but it was always interesting for me. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Germany Near Berlin, I myself have just spent the first season with my CC Cavallier, which I have refete 3.5 years. best regards Thomas!
Nice Series! Lots of Information! Big Question is: On CLC website they say it takes around 200 manhours to build. Do you think that is reasonable, or was your experience significantly different?
I had the same question for the designer. I have always used a primer to get a smooth surface on older boats, but he stated that one part primers are prone to blistering as they can absorb moisture. He also uses two-part paints, but I can not get two-part paints anymore from my wholesaler. So the primer is the skim coat of epoxy.
No finished boat video? Picture? REALLY?!?!?! Loved the videos, excellent job, "liked" them, all that.. but 23 Episodes and we don't get to see it completed?!?!? BOOOOO!!!!!!!
I know. I have had lots of comments on this. I was really pressed to get this boat finished for the customer so no opportunity to take any photos of launch or sailing on the water. But the owner has promised to send me some this summer when boat is out of storage and back on the water.
@@OrcaboatsCa No problem just sort of teasing you about it. It was such a good build. If "we" didn't think much of it then nobody would care! So take our ARGHHHH!!!! NO PICTURES!!! as a big fat compliment. About to watch your "Lofting" videos. Kepp up the good work and thank you for showing me how to build the one dinghy I want to build! You know, I CAN do this...
@@TheDivegeek No. Other project just seem to take over. If you need to see one on the water, check out Leo's channel Tally Ho. He just demonstrated one that he is going to use as his tender.
The video series was very informative and detailed. Interesting dingy.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job Orca Boats, thank you
Thanks for watching!

Spoiler alert. There’s a picture of a finished boat on the tally ho Sampson boat company channel.

That estimate for hours is pretty close. If I built one again, I suppose I could reduce the time and do multiple things at same time.
No primer before the paint???
