Andy rouse probably deserves a dedicated episode. His career and cars are very interesting and some of them have some excellent backstories (broadspeed Capri and rs500 for sure)
I performed for 11 years in a band with former BTCC CHRIS HODGETTS, performing at many motorsport events like BRIT TOURING CAR, BRIT SUPER BIKE, FORMULA ONE GRAND PRIX (for the BRDC), and loads more, also at contractors parties on site up at Oulton Park. Some great memories.
Must be the single greatest period of touring cars ever, I remember watching it pretty much regularly during the 90s and remember the all conquering Nissan Primeras in 98/99, absolutely peak BTCC!
Best era for the BTCC, loved the super tourer era, the carina e s, cavaliers, mondeos, Laguna's. Thanks for this one Trev!
Maybe a future interview with John cleland or Steve soper??
Great thought, but someone has already done a Soper/Cleland/Harvey interview...
@@oscarsgarage447 ah ok fair enough mate. Great video though, definitely the legends of the BTCC
Great info and fantastic channel👍
Thanks and welcome

With regards to soper. He had a big accident at brands 2024 at the super touring power event with a nissan primera
Interesting, didn't come across that
Thanks for the update on a truly memorable period in BTCC racing.
Our pleasure!

Brilliant wasn't it? Also the TOCA racing games it spawned - rubbish graphics compared to today but great fun.
The Touring car racer Martyn Bell owns a garage locally and lives very near me. Very nice guy.
Thanks for the info!
As a Scotsman obvs John Cleland was my favourite.
I’m a BMW guy but I always thought the MK3 Cavalier he drove looked the coolest.
1st !
