I wish more out of town we’d would come to Chicago and see what we’re really about. I’m from 79th street, born and raised. I graduated from Bradwell and South Shore, I served 5 years stationed in San Diego in the marines and I even lived in Los Angeles. While those cities are similar to Chicago and in many cases even be better, they’re simply not CHICAGO. in order to know what Chicago is like, the REAL CHICAGO, you gotta hop a flight and come on down. Don’t listen to people not from here that visited for a week and got a parking ticket. Listen to Chicagoans. We’re literally EVERYWHERE. come out out here folks, get you some of this good ass food, see some of these beautiful women, breathe our air and then judge.
as someone who grew up in auburn gresham i can safely say this isnt the real auburn gresham. we moved away from there because the crime was too intense
greetings: from the concord gas station at 87th &eggleston that served the community for40 yrs, now just a memory, i am the grandson of one of the 3 original owners and i worked in that station 1970 to 1978 , back before self service and you had people pumping your gas.
Ehhh 95.9% of the people down here AND on the entirety of the south side are AMAZING people BUT that dont mean shit when it gets to the drill game... sorry but im coo on stayin down there.. a lil tooo MURKY for me. You can tell me its cool there all you want but the bodies speak different. Unfortunate truth. They show a quick glimpse at what they wanna show. But the crimes say otherwise 🤷🏻♀️
I live in Chicago and I constantly hear about crimes right in that neighborhood or nearby..

Jameson's Soul Food is not doing too well now.

The south side has a lot of bad hoods but they are so cultured. Great food and great events
I wish the non profit luck in revitalizing the neighborhood.
All that will be automated
very disheartening that the good people of the south side get overshadowed by all the senseless violence going on.
