    Thank you for showing us how to test whether you have spinal stenosis. I am 82 years old and I have been diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis through MRI and according to my surgeon I must have surgery (major surgery) without delay. I am pain-free and doing workout in the gym every day. My surgery confirmed the surgery involves some 20 complications, it is a one-way ticket. In your opinion is the findings of an MRI reliable to urge a patient to go for major surgery with little or no success at all?

    I have difficulty walking, and have had a spinal fusion in S1, L5, and L4. This has helped, but I have degenerative changes in the neck and back area. I lean on my shopping trolley and use crutches to walk. Bending backwards sounds like hell to do right now!

    Hello thank you for all your videos they have helped me a lot! I was diagnosed with a 4mm broad based central posterior disc protrusion (among other thing). Could something like that, create problem in both my feet numbness and pins and needles? I was told disc problems only affect one leg at a time I would love an answer from you, Thank you very much!

    I just came across this video and I can do all 3 of these without feeling any pain but yet my Dr told me I have spinal stenosis I thought it was sciatica before he told me that. I’m going on 2 months of having this and up until the past 2 weeks I was in very severe pain when I had to get up or walk, I have been feeling quite a bit better for the last 2 weeks I think the 2 accupuncture and electro therapy treatments the Dr did really helped quite a bit. I’m a little confused by everything at this point and I’m not sure what to think. This has caused me to be laid off from my job and of course the heavy financial problems that comes with that but the Dr says I can’t go back to work at least for a while. It is painful if I stand for more than a few minutes or walk a few yards though as I said nothing at all what it was like about a month ago

    My pt was telling me to do mini push ups and sent me into a pain storm for a whole day? Now they want me to have a hip replacement but I don't want one. I'm an ex rn do I'm pretty Leary and next year will be 50 years without a major or minor surgery. Also I'm not in that bad pain
    I'm walking with a cane but they completely disabled me.i been diagnosed with stenosis and ddd years ago.

      Fuck PTs.
      Thing is, we all have DDD. it's only an issue when it causes pain. Stenosis is interesting as it can be caused by several things. The obvious one is less room for the nerves, which isn't a major surgery. The lesser known one is ligament laxity, either in the lumbar or in the SI joint.
      Prolotherapy can work very well for some people. But these issues can be very complex.

    I have disc bulge detected by MRI at L2-3 L4-5 and L5-s1. I have the symptoms of spinal stenosis as walking and standing hurts a bit while sitting doesn't. I'm 34 male. Should I keep walking on daily basis and do exercise for bulging disc alongside the stenosis?

      just to clarify. A bulging disc does not necessarily mean it is problematic. People are walking aorund with bulging discs in their millions and are asymptomatic.
      It takes a lot to figure out where it is all coming from. In this case, why are they bulging? is there dysfunction elsewhere? One needs a thorough examination that medical doctors rarely do. Next thing you know, there is scaffolding in your back.

      @@ZafarYTC sorry, I couldn't reply in time. I have been doing regular walk and elliptical; atleat 30 mins daily. I also do the basic exercises of backache regularly. From my experience, I have found brisk walking to be the best relief. If u add regular basic exercises, it gilds the lily. Furthermore, sleeping correctly and on the correct surface is also essential.

    I lose feeling and have discomfort when I lay flat on my back or when I stand or walk. I get relief when I lay on my side or if I sit or lean over and brace myself with a counter or a walker. I have permanently lost the feeling in the top of both legs and there is damage to the muscle and weakness. I am 38 years old. I do have a minor scoliosis as well (12 degrees between the 7th and 9th vertebrae). Is there a way to reverse the loss of feeling and muscle damage? I started having trouble at age 34. My grandfather and father had a degenerative joint disease and grampy was in a wheelchair by age 40. They just ordered my wheelchair. I do not want to be in a wheelchair. Can I do something to change this. I am too young.

      I also have it from L5- S1. They only did a partial mri 7 years ago. So I’m not sure if I have it on up further or just my lower back. I’m 29 and was diagnosed at 22. Doctors kept telling me I was too young to have back pain. The pain, numbness and tingling goes down my left leg usually. I’m now starting to have neck issues. I’m hoping it’s not in my neck though.

    Is the foraminal stenosis reversible with exercise?

    • @Painreliefexpert
      @Painreliefexpert  7 лет назад +1

      Hey there,
      Stenosis is not reversible and is a natural aging process....however it does not have to equal pain and the pain is absolutely reversible with exercise. It has to be exercise that opens up that hole. Would you like to talk more about what is going on? If so simply email me andrewg@thesuperiortherapy.com

    If the pain doesn't go away when you're sitting is the problem more likely in the sacroiliac region?

    • @johndeeregreen4592
      @johndeeregreen4592 6 лет назад

      This is where it get's complicated: degenerated discs cause pain with sitting, but the process of disc degeneration is what leads to foraminal stenosis. So, you can have pain with standing, while setting, and also have neurogenic claudication; pain in the legs with walking. Seeing a doctor that specializes in back pain, is about your only way to find out what is going on.
