So glad that y'all picked that song. I cried all the way through it. My Mom and Dad were married 73 years when my Mom passed away, my Dad died from a broken heart 7 months later. We have videos of them singing that song together. Dad playing his guitar. Mom was 15 and Dad was 16 when they got married. Mom passed away in Aug. 2017 and Dad March of 2018. They loved each other so much!! They even sang that song in church a few times.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one crying at this. My parents were married 46 years. We lost mom in 2014 and dad stayed with us until 2021. They adopted this as their song the first time they heard it
My parents just celebrated their 72nd anniversary in February this year. I always thought this song could be about their lives together. My fear is that, like your parents, when we lose one we will lose the other shortly after.
Beautiful story, God Bless
THIS made me cry. Playing and singing at 15 and 16 then married 70+ years. No cheese, write their story and sell it to Hollywood. That has to be a record breaking marriage span. Most people dont even LIVE for 70 years. Thanks for sharing.
Karen, they sound like they were awesome people and shared a great life together. You should be proud to have them as an example of what love and life is all about. My parents were very similar and my Dad's motto was:"Family I s Everything".
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sang by our guy Vince Gill, who has the purest voice ever heard. ❤❤❤❤
I recommend checking out Vince Gill's fun, rocking country songs too! "One More Last Chance", "Next Big Thing", "Feels Like Love"
Good song. One more last chance by Vince Gill is also very good and the video is hilarious with George Jones in it too!
“Look at us”! My wife and just celebrated our 30th anniversary, we are still going strong! There is a simple formula to keep the flame going. Just take the time continue falling in love. People who stay together fall in love time after time! Great song!
Always so excited when y'all do Vince Gill! Please consider "Whenever You Come Around"...he wrote it just after meeting his future wife, Amy Grant, and says it's his favorite song to sing ❤. "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin Away" is another one of his biggest hits that y'all would enjoy!
Love it love it love it!! Whenever you Come Around! AND “WHEN LIVE FINDS YOU” ❤
He definitely has a beautiful voice. He’s with the Eagles now. Saw them last year. His voice fit so well with them. He can do rock and country so well.
Love y’all!!
Saw them last year too, and it was nothing short of incredible. He's a perfect fit.
He toured with the Eagles. I've seen him twice recently. But he's getting ready to go on tour himself.
I got to see them in 2017. It was awesome! He did fit in so well with them. I also love the Eagles
Saw the concert Nov 2021 in Seattle. Going to Tampa next week to see it again. He is a perfect fit with Eagles.
Deacon Frey was with band too in Seattle
Vince does an AMAZING ballad with Reba called The Heart Won't Lie. It's one of my favourites - that I think you'll love.
Agreed. Great song.
He sang in the band Pure Prairie League before he went solo. His song with them Let Me Love You Tonight is great!
Vince has the classic "high-lonesome" bluegrass voice. Never less than superb!
Vince appears in this video with his first wife, Janis Oliver, who was half of the country duo, “Sweethearts of the Rodeo”. They had a few hits in the 80’s. Check out “Midnight Girl in a Sunset Town” or “Satisfy You”.
The irony... he would go on to leave her for Amy Grant. Lol
@@dustingarland9590 No, he didn’t. His wife left him. I love Janice and I have no axe to grind, but that’s just not true.
Holds more grammys than anyother country artist. 22! what a number.
Vince's wife, Amy Grant also has an angelic voice, she songs Contemporary Christian music and they have been married over 20 years--- "I Still Believe in You" another beautiful song
They've actually done that one, if you haven't checked it out.
You should react to him and Sara Evan's "No Place That Far" . He helped jump start her career. She backed him up on his album then he was in the video and backed her up
His duet with Carrie Underwood of "how great though art" live is amazing
I will never give up asking for that, just amazing.
*Thou Art
Please do this reaction...You will see Gods hand literally in action!
Greatest version of this song, bar none!
Thank you for reacting to this beautiful Vince Gill song. Shout out to Karen Doss and her comment. Mine is a very similar story. Mom and Dad got married when she was 15 and Dad was 19 (because of me 😯). Nobody ever expected that the marriage would last. This became their song the year of their 40th wedding anniversary. Dad passed away last year, just short of what would have been their 69th wedding anniversary. They were a true inspiration to all of their 6 children, and the memories will live on.
You can't ever go wrong with any Vince songs. "Pocket full of Gold" "one more last chance" and I think my favorite "Which bridge to cross".
He also has some amazing duets with other artists. Such as Reba McEntire, and Carrie Underwood.
I agree with "One More Last Chance " That's a fun one
@mark allen so far they've only done Vince's emotional songs. They need to react to his fun side too. 😃
You would love him and Reba McIntyre singing The Heart Don’t Lie
Great video, too!
His best works were created when his life was at it's lowest .... Patti loveless on background vocals fit perfectly
One of the best love songs, EVER! My Sweetie and I will be celebrating our 38th anniversary in June. Our parents were married over 50 years before we lost them. My grandparents were married over 60 years.
We still believe in forever! We love where we are in life now. Our children are now grown (32 and 29) and we love going places together experiencing incredible places.
Our secret is that we’ve ALWAYS made each other a priority. It’s never easy but at the end of the day, we are one!
Cherish each other and treat each day as an opportunity to let each other know how much you are thankful for each other!
With love and respect,
Rob
In an interview Gill talked about getting a chance to play a heartbreak song he was working on for one of his idols and has told, "I want to hear a song where they stay together." This is his response to that advice.
Now this is real country!!! 80s and 90s country!! Not that hip hoppy autotuned mess most country music is today!! I'll take this anyday. Takes you to another place. I miss it so much
You have to do all of Vince Gill. This guy is a iconic country western singer, his voice is unique and he is a superb guitar player. Thank you and please please please more Vince
Been following Rob Squad since the beginning. I have little doubt that y'all will be listening to this together in 30 years. Maybe it will be played for you by one of your kids at a 40th anniversary party. No pressure. ❤
One of Vinces most beautiful songs. Its like God controls his voice box. So heavenly.
Amen to that 🙏
My darling late husband introduced me to this song - and thereby Vince Gill - one day by playing his guitar and singing it to me. Forever etched on my heart ❤
You can never go wrong with Vince. Next time you should do one of his upbeat songs. One more last chance is good.
One of the, if not, greatest male country vocal singer ever!! Definitely one of the top 10 country GOATS.
Vince Gill definitely has on of the best Male Country voices
You really need to check out Vince playing guitar with Carrie Underwood on How great thou art . It’s one of the greatest live performances I’ve ever seen
Melt me into a puddle🥲
I love the story he tells about his dad and watching Dolly on the Porter Wagoner show when he was a kid and how his dad tagged along when Vince did the duet with Dolly😂 Also love the story about his nickname "Sweatpea" that he got from George Jones. His story telling skills haven't received enough attention. He could do a whole album just telling his tales.
Check out his live 1991 version of "Pocket Full of Gold" with Patty Loveless, and the incredibly devastating harmony between the two them. Absolute perfection.
Also his live duet from 1995 performing "I Will Always Love You" with Dolly at the CMAs. Sadly, that one seems to only show up from really bad VCR copies and sometimes chopped up with photo vignettes, but imo Dolly is at the very peak of her vocal ability and beauty, and they are like a couple of angels together, so it's worth watching and hearing. They reprise the performance years later but it just isn't as perfect as in 1995.
This is our wedding song. Our first dance as husband and wife. 31 years and counting ❤
Another wonderful song with Patty Loveless singing background with Vince!
He's a perfect addition to the Eagles too. Saw him play with them in 2021 and going again to see them next week
This and Keeper Of The Stars (Tracey Byrd) are my husband and I’s songs! Makes me cry every time! Going on 33 years! 😊
This song was written about his 1st wife Janis Oliver. She had her own band "Sweethearts of the Rodeo". They met in 1980 and Vince sang back up for her and did some studio work with her and her band. They didn't divorce until 1997. He then married singer Amy Grant in 2000.
I believe the two of you have that everlasting love too.😀
There is a couple in our neighborhood who have been together for many decades. Every day they walk around the neighborhood together, getting their exercise, holding hands, wearing matching outfits, smiling and talking.
My husband and I are always out and about walking our doggy customers and we greet them as we pass each other. We've told them how inspired we are by them and hope to be just like them some day.
They're such a sweet couple just like you 2 are.
Time flies. Enjoy your time together.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Vince Gill was bigtime in the 90's. My favorite song by him is "Go Rest High on That Mountain" that he wrote for his brother upon his death. Thanks for the memory, guys. Still watchin and lovin ya. Go with God. Peace.
Crazy over this song , Vince has the silkiest voice, sings with such passion 💕
That steel guitar just melts me. I am old school country. The steel guitar & twin fiddles
Omgosh love me some Vince!! You know once we lost Glen Frey of the Eagles band not long ago .. Vince started playing & singing with my #1 band - The Eagles!! Mr Gill certainly melts ur heart. Thnx Y'all .. have a great week. Now off to watch the movie with y'all. Smile 😊❣️🤘🏼
My awesome husband and I have seen Vince live 3 times. Always a beautiful experience. We've been married 20 years and still believing in forever! Thanks again RSR! LOVE YA!❤😊👍
What a voice he had. That's why I enjoy listening to you two, you remind me of songs I have forgotten. So a suggestion, one that has nothing to do with Vince Gill, I know you've done her before, but you have to do Dusty Springfield's 'The Look of Love'. One of those love songs you won't forget.
PLEASE consider reacting to his song, 'whenever you come around'....it is sooooooo great and is all about how he felt about his 'then' future wife Amy Grant.
I hear you, Amber. My parents were married 35 years before my Dad passed so young. I know they would have been married forever. Such a lovely song.
He has such a beautiful voice and is such a nice and genuine person. A bit of trivia, for a while he was in the band “Pure Prairie League”. If you listen to the song “Let Me Love You Tonight” you can clearly tell it’s him singing.
His voice is honey!!
Vince writes the best love songs. Another great one is Whenever you come around. Its beautiful.
I absolutely love Vince Gill
My husband and I danced to this song last year when we celebrated 30 years.
That's up there with my absolute favorite Vince Gill songs. My grandparents were two months shy of their sixty-first anniversary when my Mamaw passed away. Papaw stayed with us three more years before following her.
Three words into the lyrics and I had goosebumps. Not a big Country fan but Vince's songs transcend genres.
They don’t make country songs like that anymore, sadly.
Another one of the greatest country singer's. Looks like you two are liking the sound of his voice. Love him
Vince is a wonderful singer songwriter musician. When I call your name, Go rest high on that mountain, so many more
He is a beautiful singer and a wonderful man ❤
My wife and I are working on 42 years I hope it just keeps going. I went to high school with Vince in OKC. Truly a great guy. Thanks for the song.
My generation were born into and grew up surrounded by such a broad gamut of music that I think we were and we remain the most musically blessed age group, cohort of all time. ARLO GUTHRIE possibly encapsulates the other end to Vince Hill, in terms of that spectrum insofar as solo singers is concerned. I saw him at Woodstock, singing Coming into New Orleans. The music video I've seen which best encapsulates the musical revolutiin of us Flower-Power kids.
Makes my parents cry EVERY time they hear it, just celebrated 66 yrs together :)
My Vince Gill Fave is "I Still Believe in You". Would love to hear the Rob Squad React.
Vince Gill has a truly angelic voice. He is amazing
I loved it. It's the sentiment...loving some one totally and forever. I get home from work late most days, change, check the news, then watch Rob Squad. You do it three times a day, I do it every night. and I LOVE female Friday!!!!!!!! You two are my go to. Thank you both. When I have had a down day I listen to "Every day will be like a holiday" sung by Morgan James. You need a 'lift me up moment,' it is right there in you ears and your soul. Think about it please.
Vince Gill's voice is absolutely beautiful 🎻
Always great to hear Vince Gill...
This song has a special meaning for my wife & I as we are getting ready to celebrate or 50th wedding anaversery in August...
You mentioned you like the guitars.
Vince is a monster guitar player...
You should check out Oklahoma Border line or Liza Jane..
Thank You
Vince is my all time fav. country singer!!!!!!
Love his music, and voice. Though a bit sad, Adriana is a fave of mine from him.
My wife and I are coming upon our 45th anniversary. It has been a long sweet ride.
So beautiful... sing it Vince.. this is they way things should be.
Forever country, artist's then now and forever
Thank you for choosing Vince Gill! Please do more!❤
I urge you to react to Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning by Alan Jackson. It is about how everyone felt after 9-11. Something this proud Veteran will never forget. Great song in general.
My husband and I were married over 25 yrs before he passed away. This song makes me miss him and wish we could have grown old together.
I think I found a country song that Jay would love, “Crash Course in the Blues” by Steve Wariner. It has piano, fiddle, harmonica and a killer, lightning fast guitar throughout. Amber would love “Redneck Woman” by Gretchen Wilson, that one’s just a stomping good time.
Love love love this song. I can’t wait until you get to one of Vince’s uptempo songs. Especially my fave, “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away.”
Great song! I can close my eyes and picture my wife and myself when listening to this song. We met when she was 10 and I was 13. We started dating when she was 14 and I was 17. We got married when she was 18 and I was 21. After 35 years of marriage, 2 children, and 3 grandchildren, she is still the prettiest girl I have ever seen.
For your next Vince Gill song please do "Whenever You Come Around ".
I check this channel daily for three and only three reactions. From my less favorite to my favorite. 3. Alabama 2. Shania Twain and your BEST ReACTIONS EVER. 1. Vince effing Gill.
Your reaction to When I Call Your Name was SO GOOD.
I just love you two!! You’re such a sweet and precious couple 🤗☺️❤
Gotta get back to Keith Whitley... You still have only done 1 song of his...😢😢 Please do more... "Don't Close Your Eyes", "Miami, My Amy", "Brother Jukebox", "Till A Tear Becomes A Rose", "Homecoming '63", "I'm Over You", "Ten Feet Away", "I'm No Stranger To the Rain", "I Don't Go Around Mirrors", "Nobody In His Right Mind Would Have Left Her", "I'm Gonna Hurt Her On the Radio", "I Wonder Do You Think Of Me", and "Charlotte's In North Carolina", are fantastic by Keith Whitley, who was just put in the Country Music Hall of Fame... RIP Keith, we still love, and remember you!!!❤❤❤
Love Vince. He did some great live duets with Alison Krause too
You guys should check out Ricky Van Shelton. He also has a very rich voice that will make you melt. My favorite songs by him are "Somebody Lied", "Keep It Between The Lines", and "Life Turned Her That Way".
Vince was also with Pure Prarie League which many don’t know. I’ve always loved Vince. Great singer.
Last year when my hubs and I celebrated our 30th anniversary we danced to this song. How beautiful his voice. As we glided on the dance floor we remembered how much 30 years has changed. 8 kids and 7 grandkids how blessed and lucky we are. When, I look into his eyes, I still see the other half of my soul, ❣️, he is my best friend, protector, lover and other half.
You guys still need to check out the woman who is the background vocalist on many of Vince's hits....Patty Loveless! She is a legend in her own right, also a cousin of Loretta Lynn, married to a former member of Emmy Lou Harris' band and producer Emory Gordy Jr and ROCKED the 2022 CMA awards show with the most talked about and replayed performance with Chris Stapleton and her hit "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive"...(but do her solo version of the song)
My dad dedicated this song to my mom on their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hy, now only missing " Vince Gill - Pocket Full Of Gold (Featuring Patty Loveless) " then you have heard another great song by Vince Gill.
That voice is really great and with Patty Loveless it's like a pot on a lid.
Keep up the great reactions.
**********Multi-talented Vince Gill has been "filling in" as Lead for THE EAGLES EVER SINCE the passing of former lead GLEN fREY.
Just saw the Eagles tour, and it was great hearing Vince playing with the band. He is singing some of the Glenn Frye vocals for the group. I wish they had carved out a few opportunities for him to do a few of his songs, but hearing Vince's vocals brought back so many memories. One of the most talented people to ever come out of Nashville.
He sounds the same live as he does on CD. He has a lot of great songs
If You looked in The Guinness Book of World Records under Prettiest Male Voice Ever THERE Would Be a Picture Of Vince Gill 😊
Believe it or not Vince was the lead singer of Pure prairie league back in the 70s and 80s
Always liked this song. Me and my wife started dating when I was 15 and here we are and I’m 55. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs but there is no way I would trade one year of it for anything
I wanted to make a suggestion, but I don't know if this is the place for it or not.I have a suggestion for Female Friday. It probably won't be up Jay's alley because it's a slow one, although there are violins. It's very early Linda Ronstadt, and even then her voice was so powerful.I know you both love Linda and this is an early hit that you missed. If you do a reaction, please do the studio version. It really show the power of this young ladies vocals. The song is "Long, long time".It was one of her first hits.
"Don't forget to pray for me" by Diamond Rio is another great country song. Love you two, you make me smile. Also Collin Raye- "Love Me" is another great song.
Love, Me. ❤ One of my favorite country songs. They'd love the storyline in that one!!
So gorgeous. His voice is angelic.
In 2017, he and Deacon Frey were hired by the Eagles in place of the late Glenn Frey.
So happy y’all listened to this today. My wife and I are going on 19 years together next Tuesday and this song really hits home. It’s funny we met in 2004 while working at target and there were about 4 or 5 other couples we worked with around our age (19 to 20ish) and were the last ones left together.
Beautiful song. I was married to my wife for 45 years before she passed and I still miss her very much.
So sad to hear of your loss. I only had my husband for 11 years before he passed away so I can’t even imagine losing the love of your life after so many years. That had to be devastating.
@@Noelle0026 for sure
Please listen to his "Dont Let Our Love Start Slipping Away", a fun upbeat song. There are a lot of great artists playing and singing with him.
Vince is awesome...question- have you ever reacted to Keith Urban? Such a beautiful person, and awesome performer!
Vince has a terrific voice and his guitar playing. He took over an opening in Pure Prairie League. Although before Vince their song Amie is one y’all MUST do. It’s a head bobber!
