It was said back in April that Iowa would never make it back to the final 4 after losing their 2 bigs. Iowa has a team full of ballers and they don't lay down, they don't quit. They play hard and I do think we will see them in the final 4 again.
For me it's been simple - college/pro womens ball hasbt rrecruited amazing inspiring players, for which there is NO excuse, ssine there certainly ARE great bball women out there to be recruited. IA was for me, like others, my first watching and no one else compares skill wise.
I think the biggest reason women’s basketball has become so exciting is that there is so much parity in the college game now. It used to be that the top 4-6 teams would beat even the 7th to 15th team by like 50 points, and then they’d duke it out for the top spot. Getting more girls to stick with basketball so you get enough great athletes even on the lesser teams has been a great thing.
I'm asian and only knew of Men's bball didn't know that WCBB existed until last season because of Clark. Got to the game late and was shocked it was this big in the USA. Although I'm wondering why their popularity does not translate to the WNBA?
Iowa is a team that fans can get behind. No drama, no politics, just about the game and pride in your team.
