We stay in Trapani in May. How can we get to cable car? We want go from Trapani to Erice. Do cable car go from Trapani stright to Eroce or we must combine bus, taxi before to get ro cable car stop?

Thanks for question. My first thought is - why do you want to stay in Trapani? It's a city. Nothing special there vs. Erice. How about just staying overnight in Erice? If you don't have car you can take a bus to the cable car bottom station or just take a taxi to the bottom start. I think it will be a magical experience to stay in Erice. Trapi - NOT!

Why do you recommend not to come by bus to the cable car?

Easy answer: You can enjoy the sweeping views and relax on the ride up. If you come by bus it'll be noisy and lots of curves.
