Oh my stars, I think I would legit cry when faced with the Yellow Bird repotting, if I'm honest. I'd, most likely, take only the old medium that's easy to take out, and up-pot. Each time I have been faced with such a large plant and I tried really hard to get everything out, I've had issues with the plant recovering afterwards. I agree with you wanting to chop off the phal and Vandas, it seems like the best thing to do. I don't think it's purely estethic, either, it will help with the plant balance (if the crown is full of heavy leaves, it risks breaking or toppling over) , and it will help with the hydration, in the long run. Good luck with them all!
Thank you, Ryan! That's most probably how I'm going to end up doing it. If I tried to remove the medium I'd most likely damage the roots and would have to repot again after a couple of months. Happy growing and have a nice weekend!
Based on your style, Bumblebee, I'd leave the vandas be. You seem to like letting your orchids do their own thing as long as they are happy and healthy, and the result is lush blooms. O'd even say the same for your phals. Phals. are notorious for tilting over the side of the pot like that naturally--especially species. They could be repotted too, because of the number of roots, but I know it causes you some angst. The imminent repots seem to be in your blc. and other cattleyas since the growths are already over the pots. Please keep in mind I am an absolute novice--my first orchid was bought September of 2022!--but I have caught the big and am in love with them (my collection just hit 40 yesterday). With your thought processes, those of Danny on MissOrchidGirl and a few others I am finding as I continue to seek advice via youtube and the AlamoOrchidSociety here in San Antonio (and via the American Orchid Society), I am falling in love with these tropical beauties! All of the above suggestions are based off what I've seen you prefer as a grower so far--ultimately, this is about your joy and the health of you and your plants. Thank you for sharing with us!
@@orchidsbythelake And I need a Pixie Dust (just googled it, so cute!). :D I was so lucky getting a Motes Vanda in Europe at the international orchid show, though. I guess it won't happen again. :/
Love your Motes Ruby Pixie! You do need to repot! Thanks for sharing ☺️!
I knooow. :D Thanks for stopping by, Joan! Happy growing!

Hi Bumblebee can you make more video on how you water them? Thanks, I love your orchid collection 😇
Hi Itoh! Search for ‘watering routine’ on my channel. I have done videos about that not all too long ago. Happy growing!

Well done bumble bee. Your orchids are just awesome but it looks like you don't get good sun at your place.
This summer was incredibly rainy, but currently we're having some wonderful sunny autumn weather. Happy growing! :)
Enfin !! To much suspens 😂😀👍
Merci beaucoup! :D Happy growing!
Wow 2👍
:D Thank you and happy growing!
Looking at your Pixie Dust and others’ mine might be mislabeled….
Mine is Motes Ruby Pixie, so if you have a Pixie Dust it might be all right. :)
@@bumblebeesorchids3408 oh! You are right! I should go into my greenhouse and make sure what exactly have. 😛
And I have pixie dust. Not ruby… that explains…. So pixie dust looks a lot (or pretty much) vietnamica…. Now I need to have ruby!
