Worked absolutely great!!! For the soap solution, I used a small glass 2 oz spray bottle. About 1/2 a teaspoon of dish soap and filled it with distilled water up to the brim. The methanol Eclipse cleaner is magic. Far better than 90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

Great tutorial. Can I use 250ml distilled water and a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid for the soap solution?

What's the soap solution you're using for the first wipe? We just got a used CPC1100 that could use a cleaning.

Celestrons manual clearly states "do not wipe in circles" I use a hurricane blower and Baader Planetarium wonder fluid and micro fibre cloth. Wipe from centre outwards.

I noticed on my 8se that it looks like there are streaks on the interior side of the glass. How do you clean that?

I picked up a used C8. I know the mirror is dirty. Can I use the same procedure to clean the mirror? I realize some disassembly is required.

I use PEC*PAD on the primary mirror also. I do not use the methanol. If it is just a spot try acetone first, that may do the trick. If not, then use a weak soap solution (~cup of water to 1/4 teaspoon of liquid dish soap) and distilled water. You can remove soap and water using rubbing alcohol and then finish with acetone.

I'd like to add that methanol is a very toxic substance, and is quite easily absorbed through the skin. It's also very volatile. Good ventilation, gloves and eye protection are highly encouraged when working with it, even in small amounts.

I've tried this a few times in the past, but now i seem to have "micro scratches" on my corrector plate for some reason, so beware or watch your technique closely.

I got a question , how do you clean the reflector mirror , or where can you send i

Only use a hand blower for that, not canned air. If you're not a professional, and have to ask that question never do more than a hand blower on your mirrors

I used to use oven cleaner and an SOS pad. This works so much better.

I prefer sandpaper. And for the really stubborn spots I use a hammer and chisel.
