Excellent demo Aaron! Been dragging my feet on updating to 2023', but I think this convinced me to jump into it. I work for an architectural firm that I think will greatly appreciate this tool. This seems to be a suitable alternative to V-Ray when working on a project where the budget won't allow us to create a full photo realistic rendering. Props to Trimble
This is similar to V-Ray Screen Space render when the model hasn't been render ready but I don't see a good reason to use this over the other free rendering engines out there that do a better job. It would make more sense to integrate this within SketchUp from upcoming versions to remove the additional step of going to the plugin store.
Will it work on meta quest 3 VR ? because then its a bit better rendering, shadows etc. for presentation, than you can get in Sketchup extension for meta quest. As I see it
Thanks Aaron, I currently use Twinmotion for my rendering but I can see me using this for quick and dirty renders to get ideas across in real-time as Twinmotion can take a while to set up (especially as I'm still learning it)
Gave Visualizer a quick shot using my Roll Off Observatory model. There are two tags that are used to show the roof structure in either its closed or opened positions. The main working view has the closed roof position tag on and the open roof position tag turned off. Unfortunately, Visualizer did not honor the turned off tag and rendered the model with the roof visible in both positions. Not necessarily a fatal issue since I could just work on a copy of the model and delete to opened roof, but I did find Visualizer's tag visibility behavior a bit odd.
i downloaded it but when i click the visualizer it attempts to export the view but nothing opens/renders. I'm working on a mac 12.4 moneterrey with sketcuhp version 23.0.418
Your best chances for a solution would be posting on the forum (forums.sketchup.com/) or contacting the developer through the Extension Warehouse page (extensions.sketchup.com/extension/da822736-6717-478a-812f-52695f3824cd/trimble-connect-visualizer-mac)
In general does not look as good as the original Visualizer, which has reflections and some control of SU materials. The background looks bad. The post-pro features are a plus though, especially the shadow and DOF control. Also the ability to control brightness. The original Visualizer suffered from excess color bleed (from one material reflecting to another), without any way to tone down. This looks quick though not integrated fully with SketchUp.

agreed
I wholeheartedly agree
can you add sky domes? and textures? and how do you export animations?
The material rendering topic (in trimble connect) could be a huge topic. Do you have a comprehensive video in this topic? thanks anyway, nice shirt ;)
It would be great if SketUp View had this extension.

Visualizer (shown in this video) is a function of Trimble Connect. SketchUp has a separate app for Quest, but it is totally different from Visualizer.

hi, we can still use the outlines for rendering? like for giving a cartoon style...
Not with Visualizer. The render settings do not include showing edges, but you could export those from SketchUp and assemble them in post production.

Is i possible to download some kind of manual?
Great extension for clay renders. ❤
I'm gonna try this first thing in the morning.
Crazy idea, integrate it into Layout
Great quick overview - thanks Aaron - well done

Will it work for 2020?
It will not. You need 2023 to run Trimble Connect Visualizer.
Do you know free render for Sketch-UP
Yes. Visualizer. This video shows you how to use it!
reflections?
And WIndows users??? =/
Trimble Connect Visualizer is available for Mac or for Windows (links to both in the description)
Great extension
Jeg bruger VRay, så det ville ikke være noget jeg ville bruge. Men det er meget nemt at bruge, så prøv det....😊
Awesome
