Emergency report of Theta squad of the Republic commandos / Reconnaissance on Imperium planet Baal interrupted by hostile invasion Admiral Yularen, as per orders, Theta squad has continued its aggressive reconnaissance deep into the northern regions of this "Imperium", on the planet they call Baal. We gathered a lot of intelligence on the warrior-cults that they call Astartes, as they seem to have their main temple in this star system. As previously believed by Republic High Command, the warrior-monks of Baal are NOT the same as those “Ultramarines” that ambushed our forces at Christophsis. From our observations, the imperial’s monks of Baal, calling themselves the “Blood Angels”, are as much artists and poets as they are warriors. They really reminded us of the Jedi in their ways to focus on their inner control. They seem to believe that loosing control would cause them to fall into some sort of “Red Thirst”, which seems akin to a Jedi falling to the Dark Side. We are not Force experts, but you will find attached all our notes on the similarities between Jedi and Blood Angels. Our reconnaissance was cut short when a massive invasion force blasted its way past the Imperium’s Baal Defense Fleet, landing in a desert out of range of the great fortress-monastery of the Blood Angels known as the Arx Angelicum. A large armored clash happened as the non-augmented human servants of the Blood Angels, named the Imperial Guards, engaged those rebel humans in the plains west of the Arx. The battle lasted for a day, enough for Theta Squad to take advantage of the confusion to infiltrate the Blood Angel’s servants main air base in the region. We did not have any information on those invading forces, except that they were human, some augmented in the same way as the Imperium’s Astartes, and that they were in open rebellion against imperial rule. Making a beeline to the Arx Angelicum, it appeared as if those servants of “Chaos” were trying to take over the Blood Angel’s headquarters. Without any capacity to gain contact with the Chaos army, I took to heart the old saying that my enemy’s enemy is my friend. Thus, I lead Theta Squad to sabotage the Imperial Guard’s air assets in order to give the Chaos rebels time to attack the Arx Angelicum. Since they openly revolted against the Imperium, they had to be good guys, right? By detonating their fuel reserve, that they call Promethium, we caused a literal firestorm on the airbase. This destroyed at least a third of the Guard’s air force, and caused the rest of their assets to take off with much delay. Our reconnaissance gear stationed near the Arx Angelicum then started to send us a video feed of the Chaos assault. This is went things went from bad to worse. As their name should have let us guess, the forces of Chaos are not noble freedom fighters, and not even corrupted corporations as are is the Confederation of Independent Systems. They are a blood-crazed murder-cult, hell-bent on causing as much death as possible. They seem to venerate a “Blood God”, which may be a pageant representation of the Dark Side of the Force. Again, we’d need Jedi expertise to be sure. Not long after the mayhem we caused in the Imperial Guard’s air base, and mere minutes after their Valkyrie gunship took off to defend the Arx Angelicum, Chaos forces landed in drop pods all over the base. Then, the slaughter began. The non-augmented humans defending the air base were no match for the “Heretic Astartes”, and could only delay the fall of the base. The Chaos cultists, following close behind what seem to be their masters, proceeded to ritualistic sacrifice of the Guard’s prisoners. To our shock, those rituals caused unnatural horrors to emerge on the battlefield. Not the Dark Side ghosts and apparitions that sometime follow in the wake of the Sith, as we learn when we study the Great Galactic War. No, those demons of Chaos were nightmare given form, red monsters with claws and horns and blades of fire and blood. Admiral Yularen, I know the Imperium attacked us first and without provocation, but when I saw the true horror that Chaos was unleashing, I re-ordered Theta Squad to help the Imperial Guard to defend their base. Using our anti-armor weapons against the Heretic Astartes, we managed to ambush and kill many of them. Those enemies are, without a doubt, the deadliest that I have ever heard of, and it is my great regret that Theta Squad has lost 75% combat capacity during its engagement with the Chaos Marines. To our luck, the Chaos Daemons did not seem to notice us as long as we did not attack them. They behaved as frenzied feral animals, and at times, it felt as if they could not smell us. Not pushing our luck, we focused on the one threat that the Imperial Guard was disarmed against: the Chaos Marines. With Theta Squad’s help, the Imperial Guard managed to slow the Chaos advance long enough. Once the Guard’s air support turned the tide of battle at the Arx Angelicum, Imperium reinforcements consisting of both non-augmented humans and Blood Angels reinforced the air base. Using the confusion, Theta Squad escaped the air base and went back to our hidden underground base. It is my pleasure, Admiral, to report that Theta Squad has taken one of the non-augmented Chaos cultist prisoner. He calls himself a preacher. I will personally interrogate him, and try to understand what the threat of Chaos is all about. Once I know more about their pageant religion and what the preacher calls the “Great Four”, I will send a detailed report. And then, we’ll make those Chaotic monsters pay for the comrades we’ve lost. to the republic and jedi. they MIGHT give the "third party wildcard force" a benefit of the doubt and see why they made galaxy fall on their war and understand the unprovoked open war on the cis and the republic, the desperation in the raids on the star wars galaxy. it is because they are losing thier own home territory and star systems to the tyranids and the forces of chaos
The area of the citadel that the Blood Angels first fell back to, that marine with a heavy bolter was an idea redirecting the weapon away from the entrance.. at that point, just point and hold the trigger because no matter waht you are going to hit an enemy. However, still damn cool scenario and animation
Damn man, this is amazing. You are really improving. A suggestion: I would try to use less text and try to communicate more with images. For example, if the imperial air support is delayed, maybe you could show us a scene where you see the planes take off, far away from the battle with some diologue "we'll be there in 5 minutes" or something. I do know this will require more time and effort and this is but a suggestion. Your content is amazing and I enjoy watching every video you make.
I honestly have got to say, scripted battles of this scale are amazing to watch and having only recently found your channel, it made me go back and open my copy of MoW just to download the mod. I literally sat at my computer for three hours 😬 but enjoyed every second of it all! Thank you for introducing me to this!!😁👍💯
I'm surprised and thankful they hadn't begin using the corpses of the dead on both sides for a summoning ritual a greater deamon or more lesser deamons would've turned the tide of battle
Maybe you can try halo mod(if it exist,since it is one of the sci-fi that have enough ground forces detaild,and SW is a bit bored(even we know WH40k always win),you may try others too,it may be fun
From what i remember there is WIP Halo mod, but it is for now frozen until UMW40k mod can ported to CtA. So, if you want to use halo units, then be aware what they still lack many types of weapons and equipment, + they unbalanced. Hope this helps you.
That was awesome!!!!! I love this style of battle. It’s like a besiege battle. And I like how the attackers had to fight different layers of the fight like outside of the citadel and than inside. I think I like this style of fight than a d-day style fight.

In the case of a Space Marine Chapter Fortress being invaded you would also have Chapter Serfs and Servitors manning artillery positions and automated defences. Chapter Serfs generally see to the day to day managing of the fortress but some are trained to fight to Imperial Guard levels to defend Chapter assets like ships and their Chapter Fortress.

I wish i could make stuff like this, or at the very least script battles somewhat like this. Keep up the warhammer 40k battles i love these battles to a T!
I dont know if someone told you this idea. Why don't you recreate based on the lore big battle from w40k ? Likes the battle for Maccrage, first war for armageddon, etc. And why not the defense of the lyon gate on terra ? This will be so glorious.
First thing first, this is amazing. I love WH (mostly Fantasy, 40k) and i am sad, that there is not really much of GOOD games from these universes. But i am again and again amazed, what can moders do with game with completely different setting :) And just nitpicking: 5:05 Adeptus astartes are ABSOLUTELY DEADLY in close combat for regular humans, even trained soldiers. They are very fast (this is not pictured properly in a lot of games :-( but it is nicely seen in the "Death of Hope Trailer 1 - War on Sathus" ), they can kill man with one hit of empty hand. Chains sword and even the SM combat knife are more than enough to cut in a half soldiers in flak armor. On the other hand soldiers (Astra militarum like) have no weapons that can wound SM or even damage their armor much. Few exeptions are Hot-Shot lasguns, plasma and melta based weapons, grenades. And all of them are hardly usefull in close combat agains so (surprisingly) fast oponents. In this scenario some Space marines would probably still used the ranged weapons. But some of them should advance in to the melee against the charging infantry and hold them in the gate. They would play for the time, until the air forces arrives and to mitigate their (SM) loses. I know melee is much harder to animate properly and it would be a lot of more work to do. This is just me nitpicking, because i think melee is a big important part of WH40k (30k). Even so i do very much like this video :)
I think the lack of melee is more to do with this all being machinema of a mod for a WWII gamne and not custom animated. Melee would absolutely rock, bot the engine this was create and recorded in probably can't handle it properly.
Seemed like the armor just stopped dying entirely when the infantry moved up, and they were getting endless infantry respawn at the bridge crossing. That was a lot more casualties than it seems they could have brought with what made it to the foot of the citadel.
i love this mod, pretty much the entire reason i even bought the game, may i ask how many times the game crashed before you managed to record this amazing video?

I enjoy the simplicity of the text, doesn't interrupt the action but still informs me of important things.

In the case of a Space Marine Chapter Fortress being invaded you would also have Chapter Serfs and Servitors manning artillery positions and automated defences. Chapter Serfs generally see to the day to day managing of the fortress but some are trained to fight to Imperial Guard levels to defend Chapter assets like ships and their Chapter Fortress.

I dont know if someone told you this idea. Why don't you recreate based on the lore big battle from w40k ? Likes the battle for Maccrage, first war for armageddon, etc. And why not the defense of the lyon gate on terra ? This will be so glorious.

First thing first, this is amazing. I love WH (mostly Fantasy, 40k) and i am sad, that there is not really much of GOOD games from these universes. But i am again and again amazed, what can moders do with game with completely different setting :)
And just nitpicking: 5:05 Adeptus astartes are ABSOLUTELY DEADLY in close combat for regular humans, even trained soldiers. They are very fast (this is not pictured properly in a lot of games :-( but it is nicely seen in the "Death of Hope Trailer 1 - War on Sathus" ), they can kill man with one hit of empty hand. Chains sword and even the SM combat knife are more than enough to cut in a half soldiers in flak armor. On the other hand soldiers (Astra militarum like) have no weapons that can wound SM or even damage their armor much. Few exeptions are Hot-Shot lasguns, plasma and melta based weapons, grenades. And all of them are hardly usefull in close combat agains so (surprisingly) fast oponents. In this scenario some Space marines would probably still used the ranged weapons. But some of them should advance in to the melee against the charging infantry and hold them in the gate. They would play for the time, until the air forces arrives and to mitigate their (SM) loses.
I know melee is much harder to animate properly and it would be a lot of more work to do. This is just me nitpicking, because i think melee is a big important part of WH40k (30k). Even so i do very much like this video :)
I think the lack of melee is more to do with this all being machinema of a mod for a WWII gamne and not custom animated. Melee would absolutely rock, bot the engine this was create and recorded in probably can't handle it properly.

Seemed like the armor just stopped dying entirely when the infantry moved up, and they were getting endless infantry respawn at the bridge crossing. That was a lot more casualties than it seems they could have brought with what made it to the foot of the citadel.
After 400.000 bullets, the Dreadnought run out of ammunition.(Ok it is a 40k world).
Ah the Dreadnought, because sending grandpa to the nursing home just wasn't badass enough.
